I have both, and beleive me its really not. On a bmx your lifting up somethin half the weight... the average bmx is 13kg and the average mtb is about 25kg.

Look up Ryan Reech on youtube and you'll see the amazing things he can does and that will make u realize that both mountian biking and bmx are just as fun but in my opinion mtn biking is better : )
