How much, if any Age pension you get depends on your income and assets. There was an article in the Washington Post (I think) awhile back showing that we have enough money to pay all of these things she's talking about. I think the article came out after this interview took place, but I hope she read the article so she will finally understand that the fear mongering she has been hearing is nothing more than fear mongering. Granted, there will be pain in many areas but we can still pay Social Security and Medicare without raising the debt ceiling.

It's quite amazing how the use of the word "darwinian" changed from a biological theory into a derogatory name for capitalism. Survival of the fittest is a fact of life, not something that a policy can change. The fittest may very well be the poor people who rely on social security. Indeed they do have a higher fertility rate as a group, they may very well be a more successful variation (be it behavioural or genetic is unimportant).

Tax the rich, if you make more then what most people’s houses are worth in a year, you shouldn't be able to collect SS. Bring back jobs to America, and get rid of all the illegal aliens. I actually felt she did a good job. This is what Peter has to face when addressing the public, because this is what many people believe. So the better Peter does against her line of thought the more he will be able to sway or catch the attention of the ''common folk''. Military spending could be cut by 90% but still leave deficits of over 1 trillion yearly.
Other areas must be cut. It's not one party or political personalities. It's our monetary system that is debt-based, welfare-warfare state, excessive taxation/regulations.

The businesses feeding at the trough that have govt. contracts are hurt, but lower taxes and spending means more wealth in the hands of the people who created. Govt. misdirects labor and material resources because it lacks a profit/loss feedback mechanism. The harmful activity doesn't stop as a result.
The govt. has twisted the meaning of terms like savings and costs. For instance, when govt. collects less revenue, they call that a cost.

This interviewer clearly had an agenda (don't they all?) and therefore when Peter offered his usual common sense and intelligence she had to disregard it.
Nowhere did he say to throw people out on the streets or that it should be survival of the fittest, but yet she kept saying that was his view.
It's unfortunate, RT was usually good when reporting on the US (conversely, it's never good at reporting on it boss, the Russian government), but it appears they have a new agenda now.

There was an article in the Washington Post (I think) awhile back showing that we have enough money to pay all of these things she's talking about. I think the article came out after this interview took place, but I hope she read the article so she will finally understand that the fear mongering she has been hearing is nothing more than fear mongering. Granted, there will be pain in many areas but we can still pay Social Security and Medicare without raising the debt ceiling.

She brings up shock therapy as a comparason. Then, seconds later ostracizes Peter for using the same fundamental concept (drug rehab). Essentially, she just rebuked her own argument.
