Why? Because it was thanks to Lara that many people had their first experience on a console and it was through her that the girls began to show more interest in video games.
If you've ever read the perfect dark books, you get to see just how much punishment Joanna can take and still fight like hell afterwards so I think she wins, she's hotter anyway.
I would say Joanna, despite her language being as sharp as her aim is precise; plus, since she is not the stereotypical 'girl who falls for almost any guy in the game'-type, I see great shoujo-ai and yuri potentional in her (if you want an explaination, simply ask).

I'd say Joanna wins, she's actually a trained secret agent who took down an entire corporation and alien race. Pretty impressive IMO.
