  • Great speech and well done. We need to take care our Veterans. They deserve medical care and being in war zone is not easy. You did their part and Government is going theirs

  • yea that’s why the only place that will see me for combat related PTSD is a marriage counselor and i'm not even married. thanks obama

  • Why does obama sound like someone reading my audiobooks? God he's booring.

  • Ofcourse our government is evil, but when i keep hearing how bad Obama is when Bush totally screwed the vets... GRRRRR! What Obama did here was cut miles of red tape. Maybe they will finally be able to help my infancy PTSD which is still red taped. I want nothing more than to strangle the life out of some of these ignorant assholes on the internet. Great job Obama!! it gives me a little hope.

  • Good job Pres obama, keep up the Good Work, ignore the naysayers-Republicans,you Could Never Please them anyway.

  • Part #2 The military function is not to send you to college it #1 mission is to KILL PEOPLE, nothing less. This killing is not a video game. Before you join the military take a visit to your local V.A., and see where you are going to be spending you time instead of a GI Bill college.

  • @SKVPC wrong, I used my GI Bill to go to college then 17 yrs later I went to the VA to spend a huge amount of time, lol

  • A while ago they found mold and peeling paint in a VA hospital in Washington. Bush said they would have an investigation of ALL VA hospitals in the U.S. and get back to the American people.

It has been 2 years and they never reported back on it. Where is our answer?

We better get it quick because the next bubble is coming. That is, the 150,000 troops coming home at the same time.

Bring them home, 10 years is enough, they have done more than we ever asked for. They deserve it.

  • To those who want to know----

General Shinseki got fired by the Bush administration after testifying in front of congress. The reason? The total number of troops needed in Iraq to do the job right and to provide maximum protection for our troops, Shinseki said 300,000 to 400,000. This was WAY OVER the other generals recommendations. So they fired him for answering a question honestly. Obama got in office he hired the General back to oversee the VA. Obama admired his courage to tell the truth.

  • We are blessed to be represented by the best!! Thank you, troops!!

  • Cutting the red tape? LOL The bureaucratic log jams at the VA are historic. Something like 85% of Vets prefer private healthcare over the VA. PTSD? How about the leak about the memo sent out to NOT quickly diagnose PTSD even if one meets the criteria. How about the 1812 Vet patients who were informed they may have been exposed to HIV or other viruses and should get blood test. That took 3 months to get the letters out. Vets would be better off to get extra pay to buy private healthcare.

  • Thank you to every Veteran, and their families who watch this video. War puts a burden so heavy on a fraction of our Citizens who serve in our military. When I boarded the jet to bring me home looking out the window, I thought to myself the rest of my life was going to be a cake walk. Well I was very wrong, the war had just started. If you are having problems please get some help. The war is never going to go away. PTSD can destroy your life if you allow it. So don't be a statistic.

  • Thank God that piece of shit McCain isn't Prez, this is something he never gave a shit about. That bastard even voted against closing some corporate tax loopholes so the funding could go to our Vets. These companies are robbing the shit out of our country with their phony subsidiaries and shit in the Caimans, and McCain sides with them over our Vets. McCain must really love his corporate tax-loopholes.

  • @HemiHead66 Exactly Right! McCain is the biggest pile of shit in the United States. He made damn sure no one saw his treasonous records from Vietnam. He also assaulted a sister of a POW-MIA in the Senate Office Building for asking why he had all the records sealed. She would never find out what happened to her brother. He get;s his, and screw everybody else. He has never been a supporter of our military..unless you count sending them to war! Fuck McCain & his dad, & grand father!

  • @SKVPC

I pray to God that fuck don't get reelected in November. When he lost the Presidency it did a number on him. If he loses in November it'll break his stinking ass.

  • Send troops to secure our border and do your fuckin job! A-hole

  • @MrJsquared91 AMEN!

  • THANK YOU!

  • Beautiful.

  • @MsSMcL

    Thank you,

    very much.

  • Right on ! Thank you president for having a heart. Yes, LONG overdue. Mental health in the military is very important, and there should be no shame.

  • What was all this business about 0bama saying about that our military volunteered, and they knew what they were getting into?

  • @the82spartans, ...and so what is your point. Should vets get this help or not?

  • @woodsprout -- Of course I do. No question about it.

What was 0bama's point when he stated that? Did not his administration have a gaff a year or so ago on this type of funding for our brave warriors?

  • I help my wife's grandfather with his VA stuff, and its an absolute nightmare! His case is cut and dry and he still gets the run around. thats the problem with government run programs, too many hens in the hen house and none of them really know whats going on! Its only going to get worse with gross expansion of government intruding in on everyones healthcare

  • Obama is such a fraud

  • @gone556 And why do you say that? Because he's doing something to help? I'm so sick of all these anti-Obama nuts with no facts behind the shit they say.

  • @TonyThompson1981 The majority of the facts prove how worthless obammy really is, you just have to go beyond CNN, Huffpo or the Daily KOS.

  • @Drumboy5165 Then what are these facts? The facts are that the economy is slowly getting better, and the government is finally starting to look out for the interests of Americans, instead of just their own wallets. You need to look beyond Fox News.

  • @TonyThompson1981 Where exactly are you getting your info? Chris Matthews or Ed Schultz?

The economy is not getting better, unemployment is up from what your boys stood on t.v. and said it was. He stands on t.v. and lies about tax cuts, when the artificial cuts were for people who don't pay taxes to begin with, honestly this is basic and easily discerned to any one with half a wit.

  • @Drumboy5165 I'm sorry sir, but you're full of shit. You need to start fucking doing your research. I don't just listen to one person and go, "yup, that's how it is". I check the facts. And the fact is that Obama is doing a hell of a job with the shit he was handed when he tood office. Now is he doing everything I'd like him too. No. But is he doing a good job. Yes.

  • @TonyThompson1981 So back it up big mouth.....you have no facts, the economy is still in the crapper, unemployment is at an all time high since Carter and your boy has not done crap except for fiddle. You want to talk finance let's go, you want to talk policy, I'm here...but back your mouth up with facts or gtfo.

  • @Drumboy5165 "Your Boy" what is this, football? Come on fellas lets face facts the man is doing the best he can with the crap he was dealt, anybody with a brain can see this. He is not the reason for our economy being the way that it is, that's from 8 yrs of Bush and his predessors. I'm a Gulf War Vet and am glad that Mr. Obama has now made it easier for me to be compensated for my service to my country for my PTSD. Thank you sir and keep up the good work regardless of the insults.

  • @branman055 I still appreciate when soldiers, even out of active duty, still call their superiors 'Sir', thank you. Now let's get to the nitty gritty about the economy. President Bush did not cause this economy, you must go beyond the limits of your/our memories and look at the hard facts of the matter. This was caused by liberal democrat control via Barney Frank and Chris Dodd, the lending regulations created the housing bubble which in turn caused the economy we now see. tbc

  • @branman055 Now, with that in mind with a bad economy etc. how can he not be blamed for putting forth spending that is in the trillions, tax rates that will choke our children from anything like a happy future? I thoroughly believe in America's best being properly compensated, in my opinion it should be more. However, the facts show us that what Obammy has done is a purposeful attempt to cripple America's economy, its military and its future, we may disagree but facts do not lie. Semper Fi

  • @gone556, Obviously by your comment YOU are the fraud.

  • Look at the facts, since WW2, US has turned their backs on not only US veterans but on allied soldiers that fought alongside the US. It is deplorable.

They use sophisticated recuritement techniques like Hollywood war movies, G.I. loans and other financial benefits but turn their back on you when u return and need professional medical help. Many veterans suffer from post-traumatic stress syndrome and other ailments. Many commit suicide and are homeless.

I dunno y kids would want to sign up

  • @AccordGTR

A lot of them signed up because they needed money for college. These days there doesn't seem to be any downside to fighting wars if you're wealthy. Your defense contract stocks go up, your taxes remain low, and your kids don't have to fight them. And since the wealthy influence govt it's a conflict of interest.

We need to bring back a lottery draft that kicks in for any war lasting longer than a year and taking more than 50 000 men. No college deferments.

  • @TrollBuster9090 Evreyone needs the money but these kids aren't really being told the truth about the risks and costs to serving.

Yeah, rich US families know what the truth about serving is because they go to better schools and have better opportunities in the corporate world.

Thing is, America doesn't have to fight wars if it abandons its imperialistic tendencies. If US was more like Germany and Japan today, this world would be a better place

  • @AccordGTR Because they believe in something more than just themselves?

  • @Drumboy5165 That "belief" was based on propaganda from sophisticated recruitment programs that the military employs to brainwash these kids into signing up.

I do agree though that there is real opportunity in the military like if you join the Special Forces, Air Force pilot training and Naval aviation. But units like the USMC and infantry units are the worst places to be in as you are mainly killing machines, fresh meat for the grinder and cannon fodder.

  • @AccordGTR "That "belief" was based on propaganda from sophisticated recruitment programs that the military employs to brainwash these kids into signing up"

Really? So was learning of self sacrifice by our founding fathers sophisticated propaganda and brainwashing? I think not. While a majority of the self serving have no concept of what it means to lay down ones life, or to possibly accept less so others may benefit, there are quite a few that hold others in a higher regard than themselves.

  • @Drumboy5165 Don't expand the discussion...pls stick to the subject. The War of 1776, Amrican Civil War, WW2, Korean War... are different from Afghan-Taliban War

US created this Islamic Extremism threat by allowing Israel to kill Arabs, by posting Western armies in Islamic countries, arming and training Mujahidin in the 80's and attacking Islamic countries in the 90's.

Then US says American boys have to "serve her country" in Iraq & Afghan?! That's BS!

  • @AccordGTR Don't expand the conversation? WTH are you talking about? This IS the conversation. Your attempt at factual information is what is off subject. You want to believe that the young men who join the military have done so due to brain washing and not of their own volition which is baloney. If someone is dumb enough to join the military and think there is no fighting then the problem starts there. We have duties and responsibilities which many times requires fighting, this is a fact.

  • @Drumboy5165 I talked to many young recruits here that believe only a small percentage of recruits actually see combat, which is a fact in the military. Most join for money, adventure and career. They don't join to die or be injured, unlike the Taliban.

U have to realize that "serving your country" is a 2-way contract. Ur country owes u the best training, support, security and benefits, especially if u r injured or die in-service.

If US can barely meet its end of the bargain, why serve?

  • @AccordGTR Do you live in a large city? The reason I ask is that where I live the young men join to serve America, they come from families of vets all the way back to WWI of WWII.

These young men know and understand the risks and believe in the purpose of service as opposed to self gratification etc. I personally understand what serving my country means as do 100% of the exemplary young men in this state.

It is not about me me me, it is about serving others, period.

  • @Drumboy5165 All I'm trying to say is "serving your country" doesn't mean joining the Marines to kill Taliban. U can do the same by staying home and being a good citizen or businessman and create jobs an be productive

If u look at the development of US military operations in the past 40-50 years, it is more of imperialism and not the kind that promotes peace & prosperity for all.

U have to know what is BS propaganda and what is really "good"

US foreign policy has been a total mess

  • @AccordGTR

"US foreign policy has been a total mess" AMEN! While I am totally for protecting our allies, we MUST take care of our own house first,I fear that our home will be lost long before any of these marxist 'leaders' of ours ever take heed of our warning too..........

    Thanks!

  • @Drumboy5165 Politicians and recruitement agencies today are still using JFK's immortal message "Ask not what your country can do for you..." to recruit young Americans

JFK served and was injured but that was a different time, when America was fighting world tyranny.

Today, America created the threat by arms proliferation and unjust actions and expects young Americans to pay the ultimate price!

    That's not like JFK's time

  • They make the ultimate sacrifice for your freedoms. When they get home they are denied the simple freedom of using cannabis to relieve their pain.

God Bless this hypocritical country we call America.

  • Bush disallowed many veterans from getting care at VA Hospitals which Barack restored. It was about the 1st thing Barack did as President.

No doubt Barack has been more of friend to Vets than Bush ever was.

    From a VietNam Veteran.

  • @DillonDee1 Thank you.

I applied for my Va benefits every 6 mo from 2000-2009 and always got turned down. Bush wanted to cut the budget and raised the threshold of earnings for vets, cutting benefits for 600,000 of us. As soon as Obama got into office he signed an executive order undoing Bush's executive order and my benefits were approved in Oct. 2009.

That general got fired by Bush for telling the truth and Obama hired him back to work for the VA. Gen. Shinseki is a good man.

  • @MrYoubrian

That he is(Shinseki), him and Sen. Webb backed us up like those cocksuckers McCain and Bush never did.
