Hello. Nader talks about progressives sticking together. We should. You guys should think about adding the Green Party California facebook page or the Los Angeles Green Party facebook page. I got involved with the Greens because of Nader.

After understanding the facist control that corporation/banking has on our government I have become an independent and voted for this guy in 08........
He is one of the few that stands up for what our government is suppose to be......for the people by the people........

Banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies. ~ Thomas Jefferson
As a result of the war, corporations have been enthroned and an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money power will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the prejudices of the people until all the wealth is aggregated in a few hands and the republic is destroyed... God grant that my suspicions may prove groundless. ~ Abraham Lincoln, in a letter to Col. Wm. F. Elkins, Nov. 21, 1864.
In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. ~ Dwight D. Eisenhower in his 1961 farewell address.
Lol "progressive..." What's so progressive about socialism? It's a failed idea and not even constitutional. Banning the lobbyists from D.C. would be a great first step toward a more sane and rational government.
You mean you actually want to get rid of one of the ways the elites control the government? You want to take away some of there political power and bring them closer to the amount of power the average low/middle class citizen would have? Be careful, you are starting to sound like a Socialist..... or at the very least a Progressive.
So what? We'd rather stay with this corrupt Capitalist government where politics is controlled by big corporations and rich people; taking whatever they desire out of the population. We live in a country where we think we're the most powerful nation in the world, and yet are blind to see those homeless people living in our own streets. Socialism is not Communism my friend. Our politicians made us think it's the same. Wake up, you're being brainwashed.
I feel it's troubling that Nader now likes Gore even though he's a big reason why Gore isn't in the White House. The two parties are very much a two-headed monster. But one head is better than the other. Damn it. If you're in a swing state: vote Democrat. Otherwise, if you want, vote third party to make that statement. Listen to Noam Chomsky and Howard Zinn.
And do more than just vote. If you really want something different, work hard for it. Don't just make a once-every-four-year statement.
Actually, Chomsky never retracted the statement "vote for Barack in the swing states." Zinn retracted more than Chomsky but was in agreement with the previous statement. Of course he knows what's happening, he's Chomsky for god's sake.
Your right it was Zinn that retracted his agreement with Chomsky but dont you think one day people in america are going to have to wake up and see the two headed monster for what it is.
I f you look at the people who are in congress and the senate are not ordinary americans like in the UK most went to private schools, its jobs for the boys.
Also, Chomsky thinks Nader is not approaching this the right way. Running for president every four years and getting less and less support isn't exactly the right way to change the political system.
i disagree. The problem is not Nader; it is all these people who claim to want a third party and who further claim that there is no difference between the GOP and the Dem's but who either don't vote at all or decide to vote for "the lesser of 2 evils". If these people don't have the courage of their convictions to vote for what they believe in, the current system will never change.
Nader's "intelligence" is about the level of the average lawyer, which is about the level of the average politician, which is about the level of the average reptilian brain.
"In the 2004 campaign, Democrats such as Howard Dean and Terry McAuliffe asked that Nader return money donated to his campaign by Republicans who were well-known Bush supporters...Nader's reaction to the request was to refuse to return any donations and he charged that the Democrats were attempting to smear him....According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Nader defended his keeping of the donations by saying that wealthy contributors 'are human beings too.'"
Nader was accused in 2004 by your spineless war party of collecting about $70,000 dollars from individual donors who also happened to be enrolled in the Republican Party. Meanwhile, Mr. Wikipedia information, your fascist scum candidate, John Kerry had collected about 10 times that amount from Republican donors, most of them corporate! Again, you should really take up reading and honesty, two very worthwhile pursuits!
Nader supporters all have one thing in common: they think they're so much smarter than everyone else. Only they can see through the bs, right? Arrogant jerks like Nader himself who put Bush in the White House (22,000 votes in NH put Bush over the top -- look it up). You all have blood on your hands. Voting for Nader can accomplish only one thing: putting McCain and the dimwit sociopath Palin in power. Think there's no difference between Republicans and Democrats? Then you are truly clueless.
And people who voted for Ross Perot kept Bush Sr from a second term.
We've had the worst of two evils for eight years, but we tend to forget the other option is still evil. Lots needs to change - and it's change you won't get from Obama or any other major party candidate.
The 1992 Presidential Debates with Ross Perot were not dull. His warnings have now come true. Replace John McCain with Ron Paul. Add Ralph Nader and Cynthia McKinney. Barack Obama must earn his victory, not win by default.
Paul is also a fraud and a jiveass. He got $35 in antiwar contribution and 16 percent of the vote in one primary, and then susp[ected the campaign and said he want to save the Republican Party.
Absolutely fantastic video. People seem to think they don't have freedom to look beyond what they have been offered. People keep voting in those who continue to turn their backs on the American people. Both parties haven't changed and don't intend to. The people are the only ones who can bring change by sending a direct message at the voting booth.
There is not much difference between Obama and the Republicans. I don't understand why people can't see that. Obama went with the FISA Bill that takes away our civil rights. He is talking corporate tax cuts. On foreign policy, he's starting to sound like a neocon, saying he would launch attacks within Pakistan even without their approval.
Vote Nader. It's not a wasted vote. It will make a statement!
It isn't that they want to see it. They are just ill informed with such blind trust--AND they HOPE... hope is a scary word without action and thereby we do not demand but only approve because we are told over and over to believe by parents and other ill-informed persons that the other guy is worse...Same goes for the republicans...I would vote for Ron Paul if he had won the primaries...but obama? puleese
I'm from england and it's the same here. Labour have fucked things up bad but there is no fucking way i'm ever going to vote conservative! It's the Liberal Democrats for me. If everybody ignored the dogma that it's a wasted vote and actually voted for them then they might actually win!!!
Two choices: Truth vs. Corruption. Nader vs. Obama. Good vs. Evil. Nader vs. Obama. Right vs. Wrong. Nader vs. Obama. Peace vs. War. Nader vs. Obama. Poor vs. Rich. Nader vs. Obama. Freedom vs. Slavery. Nader vs. Obama. Which do you choose?
To mopsius: Stop being so shilly! I don't give a shilling about what you think. Stop shilly-shallying around. You're just wasting my time. I'm getting bored with your shillyness.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Well, that was stupid wasn't it? They could have voted for Gore as a negative vote against Bush and Cheney.
But you folks are too fucking stupid to consider that casting a vote is strictly a fucking calculation and implies no necessity to vote "for" nor to be complicit with any of the fucking lying, thieving morons, including jiveass egomaniac Nader.
No...I don't get anything & I suppose that is why I am the idiot. But I guess if I really wanted to do something phenomenally stupid. Then, I'd approve the status quo & agree that there is no Corporate interest & U Obama OR U McCain actually R the voice of the people, & I am so guillable so I am going to pick one of U. -sarcasm (They never have 2 listen 2 "we the people" until we prove we R not willing 2 vote 4 them) Hey-corporate shill-mopsius-
In the 2004 campaign, Democrats such as Howard Dean and Terry McAuliffe asked that Nader return money donated to his campaign by Republicans who were well-known Bush supporters, such as billionaire Richard Egan....[Nader}charged that the Democrats were attempting to smear him....According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Nader defended his keeping of the donations by saying that wealthy contributors "are human beings too."
We demand that you let Nader Debate! And put him right beside McCain and Obama as a serious candidate on the You Choose 08 page or change the name of the page. Because it is a contradiction if you don't show who all we have to choose from.
Can you imagine the fear that corporate gov. would have if Nader wins?!?! I would pay big money to see that!(pun intended) He will be cleaning house-No doubt! Sharpest mind in politics but with a heart for the working classpeople. I love Ralph Nader.
Ralph Nader has ignited a fire in the bellies of the American people. He is the spark of truth that has awaken the American people to the corruption of our government by the corporate elite. He has sparked a blazing revolution that will not be put out until there is freedom and justice for all.
Don't say you weren't warned Obamabots! The military industrial complex knows that, they just want to make war any where they can. If the republicans invade Iraq good for them. Then, if the democrats escalate war in Afghanistan, again good for the military industrial complex!
I'd be happy if enough people voted third party for the country to truly take notice of how unhappy we are with the mainstream parties, and that maybe next election cycle one could win.
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall. Humpty Dumpty had a great fall. All the king's horses and all the king's men couldn't put Humpty Dumpty back together again.
No living thing will ever dominate this planet. There will never be such a thing as world globalization. We are all(plants and animals) being controlled by nature. This planet has been here for about 4 billion years. The only thing that controls it is the sun which itself will only last for about another 6 billion years. This planet isn't going any where for awhile; but the human race that is another story.
NEITHER OBAMA OR MCCAIN DESERVE TO BE PRESIDENT. THEY WERE WARNED ALONG WITH EVERYONE ELSE BY RON PAUL THAT THIS WAS GOING TO HAPPEN. RON PAUL WAS CENSORED AND PAINTED AS A 'kook'. FOLKS, RON PAUL HAD BEEN WARNING CONGRESS FOR YEARS - WHY DO THE POLITICIANS SUDDENLY SEEM SURPRISED?
To SailorWuzPeanut: Thank you for the term "corporate goons." It's much better than "corporate friends." Ralph Nader with the help of the American people will put an end to the domination of our government by the corporate goons.
To SailorWuzPeanut: Yes and your last name is Dumbty as in dumb. You and your corporate friends are as dumb as doornails. Face it, you have met your match. Ralph Nader has never back down from you. Now he has gather the support of the American people, your days are numbered.
I'll show that Ralph, don't you worry. He is no match for me and my corporate friend mopius. We will hire some corporate goons to throw a pie in his face again, and the American people will laugh. It is your days that are numbered one to ten, so start saying your ABCs and counting on your toes because you middle name is not smart and you do not know how to use a calculator.
If we keep voting for the Democratic Party, Inc., or the Republican Party, Inc., then we will continue to have a nation that is ruled by corporate power and not people power.
To mopsius: You and your corporate friends have come to the end of the line. Your wall of lies and deception is crumbling down. You cannot build a wall around the American spirit. Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall. Humpty Dumpty had a great fall. All the king's horses and all the king's men couldn't put Humpty Dumpty back together again.
Ever hear of the New Deal, the social democracy package that created the American middle class? Where do you think the Democratic party stole those policies from?
He forced the main candidates to look at labor and where it was at which started creating reforms. He was gaining a lot of support and even got 6% of the vote in 1912 which pushed his agenda farther. He was for the right of women to vote and pushed that issue to the front by not exluding anyone from his party (including women, blacks, etc.). If he did not force TR to move so far to the left on the bullmoose ticket, he may have even won the election.
mopsius, ever looked at an old mercury dime? Fascism symbol on the reverse side (I was into numismatics at one time, thats how I picked up that piece of trivial knowledge).
"You can't have a least worst attitude as a tactical voter and not push or pull your least worst candidate into progressive areas, because then, you've lost your moral compass"
"You can't have a least worst attitude as a tactical voter and not push or pull your least worst candidate into progressive areas, because then, you've lost your moral compass"
Great interview. Nader gets my vote again. I refuse to vote least of evils because I refuse to vote for an "evil" pardon the term. We need the best for America and my vote will continue to support the ideals of this man regardless of if he wins ever or ever. It is time to make a stand and a change with the next generations votes. Old boys clubs need to be split up. End the duopoly.
NeoCon Republicans are now hiding in shame in public. I've noticed they all hang their heads and seem to be trying to blend in like guilty Nazi guards in the holocaust camps. Disgusting!
Great interview Davis, but Im going to pass on the next 2 vids. Nadar is an erudite man, but this continued nonsense about surrendering the progressive power of vote by voting for Obama is bullshit, borders on the claim of an absolute truth and flies in the face of all weve lost in the last 8 years. Obama if elected will have a place at the table for progressive ideas and McCain will not. Take a look at the playbook of fundamentalist Christians and how theyve co-opted the GOP.
Ralph Nader has the knowledge, experience and integrity to steer this country back on the right road. I know he can do it because he's wearing a seat belt.
Oh man I want that Nader t-shirt! "Revolutionaries always spoil corrupt systems." Great video, thanks davis. The audio volume of you and Ralph was mismatched, but still an informative and enlightening video as always when Ralph gets to have his say.
whereever you are RALPH its time to come out of hiding if possible and speak your truth once again!!!

Vote for the least worse.

Ralph Nader is the least worse=the best.

"No one conquers Afghanistan", Ralph Nader.
Don't say you weren't warned Obamabots! The military industrial complex knows that, they just want to make war any where they can. If the republicans invade Iraq good for them. Then, if the democrats escalate war in Afghanistan, again good for the military industrial complex!
Stop the war machine!

"So what did Eugene Debs accomplish?"
Ever hear of the New Deal, the social democracy package that created the American middle class? Where do you think the Democratic party stole those policies from?

That was not Debs. That was the Fascist Roosevelt's cunning compromises to prevent revolution and prepare the country for war.

"So what did Eugene Debs accomplish?"
If he did not force TR to move so far to the left on the bullmoose ticket, he may have even won the election.
markdavis115 3 years ago 2
Debs was a great man. But too nice.
He should have been a Bolshevik.
All he did was show the Fascists like Roosevelt how to defuse a revolution.
Nader is a corporate shill.
Not in the league of Debs.

I don't know what comment you are referring to.
Not denying that I made it but I could not find it.
Voting is not a religious experience. It is not sex. Why do voters believe they are complicit in who they vote for.
Most politicians are lying trash, of all colors and programs.
Trying to "believe" in a candidate is a waste of time.
Cold calculation.
Nader is contemptible because he is trying to get people to vote for him because they are somehow complicit in who they vote for.

iMBBonlyone 3 years ago
Well, Mamselle, how about me?
And not just growing up.
How many outhouses have I dug? (Actually just a hole with a hinged cover. Who needs the house part)

They are far superior to indoor toilets in many ways.
