yes you can certanly get them in Australia, the local pet store will have them, you will need a 4ft tank as minimum, also get the biggest filter you can one that can deal with ammonia because these are very messy fish!

Better not have been a grasshopper caught outside (it might have pesticides, weed killer, ect. on its body)! Go to the pet store and buy crickets; they're much safer to give to your fish.

lol I dont think he can swallo it that easy, if you really care about the health of your fish then just feed it feeder fish dont make it a challenge for it to eat. Just some advice.

Bad idea. Feeder fish often carry diseases which can make the Oscar sick, which in return can kill them. It's better that the Oscar eat their natural diet; insects.

i love oscars. i have 5 in my 90gal tank one of it measures 13in. the tiger, redblood,velvet and albino. the're nice pet and very aggressive. i fed them fresh shrimps and ciclid pellets.
