  • the funny thing is if u knew what a die hard ef el fan knows u could go a lot faster 4 cheaper still ! bet u wish u knew u could get a chip and burner for around 250 and btw the ef police computer will still have a speed limiter

  • @locky264

A diehard EF/EL Fan would know the EF ECU wont work in the EL. Unfortunately I got caught out. If you've got any tips, please share.

  • if the ECU could have fit and worked would it had been as accurate as before? or would it still be a bit off.... i want to put 4:11 diff gears in my VK and can only imagine ill be having this problem

  • Just watched all 13 episodes back to back, and it beats everything on telly by a 1/4 mile. Nice job Scotty, keep it up buddy.

  • I'm really loving this series, Scott. I'm really interested in seeing the outcome of that shift kit.

  • im no ford fan either but I like the footage. I must admit the commentary was a little bit on the daggy side, but Ill follow your style with my Panelvan rebuild. I was adicted too the series after the cut off disc fucked up..peice of shit. hhahhahaa. Nice work dude, number 14 is due when ???

  • waiting for number 14 :P

  • @pedrotski2007

I know guys, I certainly didn't think it was going to take this long but things have been fairly hectic of late. I should have taken the car the Performance Car Mania at Winton last weekend. I wouldn't have giotten any official times but it would have been fun. Hopefully we can get some new videos happening soon.

  • @blownhemi whats funny is i have an ef burnout car that i was going to put nitrous on also. i didn't end up doing it because i didn't think the gains would be that big. after seeing this i regret selling the kit haha.

  • top series when is 14 coming

  • hey man. i must admit i fast tracked a few episodes lol. but i really dig this hey!! it's amazing what you can do if you just take a little bit of time to do shit yourself. im converting datsun to an rb motor at the moment and all ive bought is an engine crane and beers for anyone who's wanted to help hehe.

would u agree as a rule of thumb that that the key things to a budget drag car is 1: big displacement to start with. and 2: nos is the biggest bang for your buck mod?

    looking forward to 14

  • @silentshadowdnb

More cubes is always better, an RB into a Datto would be a nice swap if you get it to fit right. Nitrous is the cheapest way to get a 100-125hp gain but once you start pushing harder then you'll have to start buying better rods/pistons/etc. Plus gas costs money. For long term I'd look at turbocharging especially with an RB engine. If it wasn't for the Falcon I might have picked a VL turbo for a 13s for $1300 project. It would have done it easy.

  • comon where episode 14 please !

  • Subscribed - awesome work mate, keep it up

  • love this stuff where,s the final one shoud go good

  • @tunastrike11

Sorry about the delay guys. I'm lining up a meeting with one of the other 13s for $1300 cars and we're going to run heads up at Sydney Dragway. Nitrous Falcon versus nitrous VN Commodore - should be awesome.

  • Come on Episode 14 :D

  • Nice work! Damn, you'll have an all out mullet by episode 15!!!

What of some simple rear suspension work? Drag shocks, air bags should be relatively in-line with budget....

  • @jaketuff

LOL, I've had a haircut and shave already. :)

  • this is the most recent one correct? youve got too many videos to check :p

  • @RicerEater1978

    Yep.

  • @blownhemi well youre doing a great job. its nice to see that you can get speed on a budget when you look for the right things! think youll hit 12s? :p

  • @blownhemi ive never dealt with nitrous systems before (hopefully soon), so ive gotta ask, how did you run a pressurized fuel line to that fuel solenoid? might sounds simple to others but like ive said, no experience on something like that

  • @RicerEater1978

Basically you tap into the fuel line supplying your injector rail. Obviously this only works up to a certain horsepower level before the fuel system runs out of puff.

  • @blownhemi that was the only thing i could think of. id imagine after a point you would need a beefier fuel pump

  • When will we see how it goes at the track Scotty?

  • so when will ep 14 be ready?

  • @azzaturbo

    Probably not this week :(

We'll see what I can do though

  • hey scotty :) , mate im 15 and i have a couple of videos i would like u check out their on my profile , also i have just brought a hz wagon its a holden red 202 it is also dual fuel is there anything i can do to it too increase the proformance yet not spend alot of money because im on apprentice wages (7.50) i am about to rip the engine out to put in a cam and port it and a set of rings it doesnt need them yet im goin to do it anyway is there any quick and easy things to do?

  • @riellyaust

I've been where you are, at 15 I was building a HQ ute from the ground up. Okay, my first bit of advice is to not take on more than you need to. If the 202 doesn't need rings, then leave them alone. Because slapping new rings in a worn bore doesn't help, and naturally the bearings will have to come out and you'll start looking at grinding the crank and before you know it you're rebuilding the engine. With these things, it's cam, carby, compression & exhaust. Ebay is your friend.

  • @riellyaust Hey mate, i'm exactly the same as you aye. I bought a VB commy at the start of the year unfreistered for $500 to do up for my P's.I wanted power but i'm not someone who does things in small amounts so i got a Black 202 off a mate and I'm rebuilding it basically from ground up. .060 over pistons, custom grind Cam, ported and polished head, 350 holley. As Scotty said Ebay is your best mate when on a budget.

  • Oh woops im looking at last months, with the blue 57 chev on the front

  • @skatamana

So we're both right. :) LOL

  • Hey scotty! Just wondering if I could get a ECU chip for a car that will increase fuel economy. yes i am noobish on the knowlegde of cars.

  • @mydogzty

It's possible but it would require a custom tune that would probably cost in excess of $1000. The best way to maximise economy is in your driving style and car set-up. Keep the tyres well inflated, make sure you have a proper wheel alignment and service your car regularly, and then don't driving it like you're qualifying for a Grand Prix :)

  • @blownhemi great advice! I just wanted to know from someone with expirence because my mate is doign panel beating. And he got gifted a nw ecu chip thing for his nissan shit box (some convertible car). anyway and he said that he went from 320km per tank to 360km per tank which is an improvement and just checking if that would mean the same thing for every car. but yea what you say is true anyways. THANKS!!!

  • do a burnout that will test you speedo out

  • Is this suppose to be street legal? If not than take the exhaust off that restricts heaps of power lol.

  • @ItalianStallionLouie

Next time I run it, I'll try a pass without the exhaust.

  • @blownhemi Would sound loud as hell too! Lol Good luck with it all mate!

  • @blownhemi was thinking about suggesting that but the fella before did it for me. And how much money is left?

  • @mydogzty

    $50 I think.

  • @blownhemi yea i reckon you should spend that on a slab of beer or something to celebrate how far this prject has come. And honestly brings this out on a series or get interviewed by a magazine company lol. bu seriously, when I watch these video's it's better than watching it on TV.

  • @mydogzty

Did you check out Street Machine Magazine this month? It's on page 138 :)

  • @blownhemi I am gonna hunt down that magazine. Street Machine? Saved in my ipod, I'll get back to ya and lmao concidence hahha and thanks for being a good bloke and replying :)

  • @blownhemi hahaha came to this video again just to tell you that, its page 128 btw

  • @skatamana

Not sure what magazine you're looking at but mine says pg138.

  • Woops dw about it realised the car is a manual

  • @skatamana

which car? Your car? This one is an auto

  • couldnt u have just taken the gear off and put thaat thing with the red wire back in so it read 0 mph???

  • @shinyfuzzy

No because it's needs a speed signal to change gears, It tried disconnecting it and the car stayed in first gear.

  • Are you selling that ex cop ecu then? Would it work in an ef xr6 and how much?

  • @skatamana

I paid $50 for it, I'd be happy to get my money back. I don't know how it would go in an XR6 given that they have a bigger head and cam than the stock engines.

  • like your videos and the project. /Jonny from Sweden.

  • impressed by all of the series.... still not a ford fan XD

  • Want to see that Valiant parked next to the bluebird :P

  • get to track early for plenty of run time ! AWESOME.

  • Next back to the track or??

  • @Nickos347 i was hoping to take it to the track this week, but unfortunately the Sydney track is closed for upgrades, i'm make sure I'm happy with everything and then hit the track again. No rush.
