The Uploaded one is a seccond ending it deppends on if jaden dies while fighting shelby while ethan saves shuan but some pepole say that if lauren dint die she would of killed shelby and some say if madison cracked the password back in shelbys home while or before the fire was started she would of killed shelby with jaden and jaden would be alive and no one dies....Except for Lauren....

I got the worst one you could possibly get, its not featured in this video but Ethan is sitting at a desk and he is so depressed that he just shoots himself. I was pretty dissapointed
@dylaneary I think Shelby shoots him because Norman didn't find the address in time, therefore he didn't get to the warehouse, and never jumped on Shelby to stop him.
@Zepthire & @theshredder39: Has anyone else noticed that the origami that comes with the Heavy Rain CD box, the one that you can actually fold, is written with the same graffiti that appear on the box art of the Indigo Prophecy CD case ? I know, I'm obsessed with IP but I really LOVED that game.
It's always raining in the game...why isn't ANYONE using umbrellas ?! And the talkshow host and the guy talking to Blake were voiced by the same guy who voiced Dakobah, in The Nomad Soul. : D D D Such a cool voice...
@Fantezism yea i agree, this game is trying to be dark, it does it well but i personally can't take it seriously because it rains so often in the game, seriously it's the biggest damn rain cloud
@theshredder39: The problem is that they didn't know how to use the rain motif effectively: in Indigo Prophecy they managed to touch me in a special way with that snowy weather, however rain isn't as poignant as snow, and since they were so adamant to make the game an EMOTIONAL experience they should have focused on the SOUNDS of the rainfall as much as they did on its graphics. HR doesn't have that...genuineness IP and Omikron had. HR is my least favorite game by Quantic Dream.

@theshredder39: By EMOTIONAL I mean something that I can relate to, something that makes me reflect on things. Indigo Prophecy managed to do that. The characters had a past, the actors who voiced them really felt what they were reading. In Heavy Rain however the characters have NO PAST, their voices are robotical, their facial expression never ever changes, how can I relate to them ? And the many things that were recycled from IP render HR too damn unoriginal to be emotional.

They decided to use rain like they used snow in IP, which is obviously a mistake. Rain doesn't work like snow. Surely, a calculating criminal as Shelby wouldn't just give his real name and risk getting tied to the murders later on. And why did they kill Manfred ? How can the game be emotional when every likeable character dies?

Why did she ask them to wait for her and Shaun outside, in front of the store ? Why wouldn't she take her ENTIRE family with her ? The story is just....flimsily written.

@theshredder39: Since David Cage made the mistake of CATERING for the gamers' stupid requests, he edited out the supernatural elements to make HRain seem more realistic. However, he couldn't edit out all of them, so he left Ethan's blackouts in the game. That's why Ethan inexplicably wakes up holding an origami near the site where Shelby's brother died, Ethan can sometimes connect to Shelby's mind and do what he's doing; he folds origamis and visits the place where his bro died.
@theshredder39: Well thank the fans for ruining what could have been an excellent game ! They kept complaining that they didn't like the supernatural twists in Indigo Prophecy so David Cage decided to edit Heavy Rain to please the fans who just couldn't stand supernatural twists to their games. Of course, the fact that these parts have been edited out has left HUGE gaps in the plot's logical continuity; that's why Heavy Rain has so many plot holes.
@Fantezism well i suppose what they did is alright i mean i'll say it now Heavy Rain is better than most movies now a days, but aside from that i personally would've liked it better if they went the supernatural route because really when i'm playing a game i want to stay as far away from reality as possible, there are some realistic games i play but after i finish them it i trade it back in, the story is nice yea but still
@theshredder39: Yeah, Heavy Rain is way better than most of what we have nowadays. But compared to Quantic Dream's previous games, Heavy Rain is AWFUL ! It wants to be realistic ...but Ethan's broken ribs heal in less than a day and Mad Jack can kill you right there, in his workshop in broad daylight ? You can also kill Nathanael by shooting him without getting suspended, regardless of the fact that you broke into his home and aggressed him physically and verbally ?
@Fantezism Heavy Rain is also buggy as hell, i've seen SGBlikestoplay's let's play of it, not sure if you're familior with their channel or their let's plays but essentially when they arrived to moment in the game where you first play through John's past before he dies, when these guys were playing the game, John was doing all kinds of shit, he was floating in his balancing animation, Scott was clipping through him and this was going on for the entire flashback sequence
@Zepthire all games are buggy in some way, Sonic games do have some glareing glitches but my god if you see the shit these let's players recorded, i mean the entire game is essentially a quick time event so you're just part of cutscenes the whole time, in the defense of Sonic games the glitches are usually during the gameplay, to my knowledge there aren't any cutscene glitches outside of a few things in Sonic Adventure 1, (continureing)
@theshredder39 Have you actually played this game? Just because theres a few videos of glitches, it doesn't mean the whole game is glitchy. Plus the whole game is nowhere near just a quick time event. Its cinematic, sure, but loads of the scenes let you freely walk around the area.
@Zepthire i was only giving an example there are a few glitches i've encountered myself but unlucky enough they were a few game breaking glitches, as an example in the beginning of the game where you have to go up the stairs when you find out the bird died, when the cutscene finished i tried to go back down the stairs but for whatever reason i got stuck in the stairs and i couldn't move i couldn't even go back up the stairs
@Zepthire but none of the glitches involved the character models floating in a completely different animation and constantly teliporting, clipping yes, but that's about it unless you want to count a few awkward animations
@theshredder39 I have seen other playthroughs and yes, the game was kindof buggy. At one point the guy had to restart his PS3 console. I don' t care about that, I'm just focusing on the game's CONCEPT.
@Fantezism Just like to mention that it was planned to have supernatural elements at one point (You can find videos of a deleted scene where his house flooded) Personally I think it would have been better with them but oh well. Atleast it tries something new unlike Super Mario 50 or Legend of Zelda: This time the sword talks.
@Fantezism then there are games where there is a realistic tone but they do stil have some supernaturality to them like IP or hell the Ace Attorney games and Ghost Trick, yea those two games i've mentioned take the anime tone but still those are examples of games that you can make realistic but have supernaturality, and you know what? those games didn't get any flak hell Ghost Trick won best handheld game of 2011

@theshredder39: Yeah, but this idea was used in Indigo Prophecy too, and you don't hear anyone praise Indigo Prophecy as much as they do Heavy Rain. Initially HR was about Ethan and Shelby establishing some sort of supernatural bond at the moment of Jason's death: Ethan could literally dive into Shelby's mind and see the victims he killed. The same thing happened in IP: the hero could see what the murderer was doing each time he killed someone. So HR is just a copycat of IP.
I got the third one, but I prefer the "Heroine" ending, since it left it open for a sequel, while at the same time leaving the possibility that Madison just started going crazy from the trauma, ala the end of that movie Misery.
but i went back and changed the ending to where all characters were alive and madison gets with ethan,jayden kills scott and lauren is stil alive...but still,i dont count it as my real ending
my first playthrough ended with madison dying,ethan saving shaun but gets killed by the cops,jayden giving up,and the killer getting away...i was a little let down that ethen died but he saved shaun which is the only thing i cared about from the start,so i guess i'm more or less conent with my ending
@Gabrineitor10 The ending that isn't included in these videos (3 parts) is News Report that you unlock regardless of how you finish the game but it varies each time so I decided not to include it.

I knew Shelby was the killer really early on in the game. I just guessed when Ethan recieved a box with a cell phone inside with some origami which is the same as what Shelby took off the shop keeper. But everytime Shelby got into a fight or whatever I wasn't doing nothing - hoping he would die - but I dont think he can die early on otherwise theres no point of the game lol
@gameboy12341 I honestly didn't, I thought it was Blake. I clocked on during a cut scene when it was described the killer was linked to the police. Then I thought about it and realized Blake probably wasn't smart or calculating enough, but Shelby used to be a cop, and was very calm and cunning. I'm somewhat proud i never fell for the Ethan black-out dish they tried serving me. and knew it Wasn't Kramer as he was too peripheral
I just brought this game yes2day and completed it. I had multiple endings?? Ethan, Madison and Shaun all lived happily ever after. Blake put on the shades and saw Jayden, Shelby died and Laura(?) spat on his grave. Jayden died in my story in his office after he was investigating, anybody know how to avoid this? Also I killed mad Jack at his garage by him getting pancaked, I missed the chance to snort my lovely drugs before that, so if i did, does Jayden take him in for questioning? awesome game.
@markeyboynum1 I'm pretty sure you can't take Mad Jack in for questioning. I think the way to avoid killing Jayden at the part you mentioned is to spend less time in the ARI during that section. You get either 3 or 4 endings per time (1 per playable character, unless Ethan and Maddie get together, in which case you only get 3 endings) Your right, it's an amazing game ^_^
@Zepthire Cool, maybe you are right. Perhaps the fact i always took the blue drugs is what killed him as he was bleeding from both eyes and nose before he passed. I wish he lived because he along with Shelby are my favorite characters. The great thing is I can replay and have a different experience next time round. :)
@Zepthire so perhaps scott (despite killing kids) wasnt so bad after all? After all the creater states, he wanted to make a game that showed there wasnt good or evil, but a balance between the two.
@markeyboynum1 No, you cant take your pills in the Mad Jack mission. Buttons just keep adding making it more difficult to perform the sequence. Mad Jack being "pancaked" (lol), I think, is the only way the mission ends with Jayden still alive.
@gameboy12341 actually it is possible to take the tripto during the time with mad jack so u dont have to fight him...... you just need a few people or a good position for your fingers lol
@gameboy12341 Thank you. I tried a few times but resigned to my fate (nearly getting crushed to death) Next time I play through (with Jayden) I will stop myself from taking the Powerade, thus, getting a better ending which is from what I hear, tripping balls hallucinating tiny tanks lol.
@SparktehFox Its all based on who is alive at the end of the game and a few other key decisions which decide if Ethan is in jail, if Ethan and Madison become a couple and if Norman Jayden successfully solves the case etc.
@TheRAWRingDuck It's age rating is for different things than Resident Evil 5 but I would say it isn't so bad. If you live in America then I think the age rating is 17+ but its worth bearing in mind that its only a 15 in the UK so 13 is not far off. Horror wise it is fine but there is a sex scene with partial nudity (breasts) I'm sure that aint so bad :P

I kept Madison Ethan and Shawn alive until the end. . but at the very end of the fight between Madison and Scott in the shipyard . . Scott impaled her. . Damn! So she was a gonner for my ending. Also it was weird because Scott shot Ethan but somehow Ethan survived. . (shaun goes over to his body an starts crying. . but Ethan gets back up. . WTF??

@theshredder39: Since David Cage made the mistake of CATERING for the gamers' stupid requests, he edited out the supernatural elements to make HRain seem more realistic. However, he couldn't edit out all of them, so he left Ethan's blackouts in the game. That's why Ethan inexplicably wakes up holding an origami near the site where Shelby's brother died, Ethan can sometimes connect to Shelby's mind and do what he's doing; he folds origamis and visits the place where his bro died.

@theshredder39: Well thank the fans for ruining what could have been an excellent game ! They kept complaining that they didn't like the supernatural twists in Indigo Prophecy so David Cage decided to edit Heavy Rain to please the fans who just couldn't stand supernatural twists to their games. Of course, the fact that these parts have been edited out has left HUGE gaps in the plot's logical continuity; that's why Heavy Rain has so many plot holes.

@theshredder39: Yeah, Heavy Rain is way better than most of what we have nowadays. But compared to Quantic Dream's previous games, Heavy Rain is AWFUL ! It wants to be realistic ...but Ethan's broken ribs heal in less than a day and Mad Jack can kill you right there, in his workshop in broad daylight ? You can also kill Nathanael by shooting him without getting suspended, regardless of the fact that you broke into his home and aggressed him physically and verbally ?

@Fantezism Heavy Rain is also buggy as hell, i've seen SGBlikestoplay's let's play of it, not sure if you're familior with their channel or their let's plays but essentially when they arrived to moment in the game where you first play through John's past before he dies, when these guys were playing the game, John was doing all kinds of shit, he was floating in his balancing animation, Scott was clipping through him and this was going on for the entire flashback sequence

@Zepthire all games are buggy in some way, Sonic games do have some glareing glitches but my god if you see the shit these let's players recorded, i mean the entire game is essentially a quick time event so you're just part of cutscenes the whole time, in the defense of Sonic games the glitches are usually during the gameplay, to my knowledge there aren't any cutscene glitches outside of a few things in Sonic Adventure 1, (continureing)

@theshredder39 Have you actually played this game? Just because theres a few videos of glitches, it doesn't mean the whole game is glitchy. Plus the whole game is nowhere near just a quick time event. Its cinematic, sure, but loads of the scenes let you freely walk around the area.

@Zepthire i was only giving an example there are a few glitches i've encountered myself but unlucky enough they were a few game breaking glitches, as an example in the beginning of the game where you have to go up the stairs when you find out the bird died, when the cutscene finished i tried to go back down the stairs but for whatever reason i got stuck in the stairs and i couldn't move i couldn't even go back up the stairs

@Fantezism Just like to mention that it was planned to have supernatural elements at one point (You can find videos of a deleted scene where his house flooded) Personally I think it would have been better with them but oh well. Atleast it tries something new unlike Super Mario 50 or Legend of Zelda: This time the sword talks.

@Fantezism then there are games where there is a realistic tone but they do stil have some supernaturality to them like IP or hell the Ace Attorney games and Ghost Trick, yea those two games i've mentioned take the anime tone but still those are examples of games that you can make realistic but have supernaturality, and you know what? those games didn't get any flak hell Ghost Trick won best handheld game of 2011

@theshredder39: Yeah, but this idea was used in Indigo Prophecy too, and you don't hear anyone praise Indigo Prophecy as much as they do Heavy Rain. Initially HR was about Ethan and Shelby establishing some sort of supernatural bond at the moment of Jason's death: Ethan could literally dive into Shelby's mind and see the victims he killed. The same thing happened in IP: the hero could see what the murderer was doing each time he killed someone. So HR is just a copycat of IP.

I got the third one, but I prefer the "Heroine" ending, since it left it open for a sequel, while at the same time leaving the possibility that Madison just started going crazy from the trauma, ala the end of that movie Misery.

I knew Shelby was the killer really early on in the game. I just guessed when Ethan recieved a box with a cell phone inside with some origami which is the same as what Shelby took off the shop keeper. But everytime Shelby got into a fight or whatever I wasn't doing nothing - hoping he would die - but I dont think he can die early on otherwise theres no point of the game lol

@gameboy12341 I honestly didn't, I thought it was Blake. I clocked on during a cut scene when it was described the killer was linked to the police. Then I thought about it and realized Blake probably wasn't smart or calculating enough, but Shelby used to be a cop, and was very calm and cunning. I'm somewhat proud i never fell for the Ethan black-out dish they tried serving me. and knew it Wasn't Kramer as he was too peripheral

I just brought this game yes2day and completed it. I had multiple endings?? Ethan, Madison and Shaun all lived happily ever after. Blake put on the shades and saw Jayden, Shelby died and Laura(?) spat on his grave. Jayden died in my story in his office after he was investigating, anybody know how to avoid this? Also I killed mad Jack at his garage by him getting pancaked, I missed the chance to snort my lovely drugs before that, so if i did, does Jayden take him in for questioning? awesome game.

@markeyboynum1 I'm pretty sure you can't take Mad Jack in for questioning. I think the way to avoid killing Jayden at the part you mentioned is to spend less time in the ARI during that section. You get either 3 or 4 endings per time (1 per playable character, unless Ethan and Maddie get together, in which case you only get 3 endings) Your right, it's an amazing game ^_^

@Zepthire Cool, maybe you are right. Perhaps the fact i always took the blue drugs is what killed him as he was bleeding from both eyes and nose before he passed. I wish he lived because he along with Shelby are my favorite characters. The great thing is I can replay and have a different experience next time round. :)

@markeyboynum1 No, you cant take your pills in the Mad Jack mission. Buttons just keep adding making it more difficult to perform the sequence. Mad Jack being "pancaked" (lol), I think, is the only way the mission ends with Jayden still alive.

@TheRAWRingDuck It's age rating is for different things than Resident Evil 5 but I would say it isn't so bad. If you live in America then I think the age rating is 17+ but its worth bearing in mind that its only a 15 in the UK so 13 is not far off. Horror wise it is fine but there is a sex scene with partial nudity (breasts) I'm sure that aint so bad :P

I kept Madison Ethan and Shawn alive until the end. . but at the very end of the fight between Madison and Scott in the shipyard . . Scott impaled her. . Damn! So she was a gonner for my ending. Also it was weird because Scott shot Ethan but somehow Ethan survived. . (shaun goes over to his body an starts crying. . but Ethan gets back up. . WTF??
