This in NOT anchoring. Anchoring is a conditioned reflex caused when neurons in the brain wire together through repetition of acts. This is suggestion, which can work and is similar to anchoring, but it will probably bomb on about 75% of the population.
@timbrownson Tim you obviously have learned anchoring in a way that needs repetition. For the rest of those who have been taught how to do it correctly, it can be instananeous. The feelings were ANCHORED to three pieces of chocolate. When he fired the anchor he got the job offer. When he fired it again he got the guy to want to fire his sone. Anchoring is powerful IF you have learned it correctly. The states were clearly attached to the chocolates. That is the classic definition of anchoring.
@TomVizzini Tom, it has nothing to do with training and everything to do with neuroscience, neuroplasticity and how the brain works. Unless they are incredibly traumatic, anchors are almost never formed that quickly or in that manner. There is some brilliant stuff in NLP and then there is some smoke and mirrors that turns people off. That demo (if even true, which I'm suspicious off) would have worked with a tiny proportion of people and it was suggestion.
@timbrownson Exactly and what generates brain plasticity? You see that is the key. You don;t know how to do it...I do :) Seriously, I have been teaching this for 13 years and we are considered the best in the world at teaching anchoring. the reason is simple. We understand the brain. We have taught thousands of people how to do it. I agree you have to get the brain into a plastic state. In order to do that you have to generate 2 aspects, novelty and emotion. Those don't have to be traumatic.
@TomVizzini You don't generate brain plasticity, it's its natural state. It has nothing to do with getting the brain into a 'plastic state'. As a world leading expert I'm a bit baffled that you don't even understand that and what is happening in the brain during the anchoring process. I'm outta here this is pointless.
@timbrownson Tim, generating plasticity is easy. All you have to do is generate novelty and emotion. I suggest you read some books by Joshep Ledoux and actually learn something about the brain and how it functions. You think repetition makes anchors...yes that can work but it is the SLOW way and very ineffective. I suggest educating yourself just a little bit. It might help your understanding of the brain and CURRENT science on the subject.
the first way to create rapport is to have white skin... haha. That's why I would enjoy this video more if the person was black, or Chinese, something else.
@TomVizzini Statistically, during the recession, minorities were fired way more than whites. So, clearly you're leaving out reality...that race matters.
Yes,NLP is important to be aware of ,but like all knowledge ,those with REAL WISDOM use it for Good ,to expand conscousness, liberty , freedom & FREEWILL...NOT to control others(which is Pychotic ).
This person teaching this (to use to manipulate others)is a VERY sick ,and pychotic person,a parasite ,a destroyer...
This Guy is ONLY showing how little he knows and how LOW his character is.
@Hroark7 after a whole year of having made a comment, I thought I should reply and tell you that it's being used on us every day, so, why not counter-attack? lol
Interesting, entertaining, but makes me wonder, has that employer seen this video now? Hopefully they have such good rapport that he can laugh about it.
The guy in the vid comes across as likeable, funny, and knowledgeable in a fascinating field. The video's poster comes across as intelligent, cool headed, and logical. The haters sound like children throwing tantrums at strangers from the safety of their Daddy and Mommy's computer keyboards. In other words typical trolls.

You have a red face, you have bad dress sense, you're scrawny and you're wasting your life on a concept that doesn't exist. Hows that for a last word?
LOL!!! Sorry I had to respond to this....I AM NOT ON THE VIDEO. That is a client from the UK. Thanks for verifying your level of understanding. Oh geeze....LOL!
I really meant to give you the last word...I didn't realize how ignorant it would be. Sorry but I just have to block you for failing life's IQ test
Some poeple just aren't as switched on as others and I'm afraid you are a bit of a dim bulb. At least settle into that role and develop some charm to go with it or you come across as not only ridiculously pretentious but also unlikeable. Don't reply to me with any retaliation bullshit btw because I'm really not interested to see it.
A good engineer hiring story. What most don't recognize is that a LOT of hiring decisions get made in just this way. Brush up your skills of persuasion - and the ability to use chocolates as a visual aid!
The problem is NLP has tried to brand things that are no other than the way the brain naturally works. Fortunately NLP sucks at making persuasion work in real life, which is what this video is all about; making persuasion work flawlessly in real life.
NLP hasn't *tried* to brand things... Trainers and those that mean to make money 'selling NLP' do. NLP in and of itself is just a set of tools and attitudes.
So, are you actually saying that giving a guy three chocolates got you a job?
I would have thought it would make him associate the chocolates with the people he was talking about, not with you.

My reply is not prepackaged at all. You made a claim. I just want you to be clear about what your claim is.
I always find it interesting when someone writes a short insult but then totally ignores the RESULTS that were gotten.
