  • It is too bad we never had Olivia and Karen Carpenter singing together. Can you imagine Olivia's soprano and Karen's alto harmonizing together?

  • yes! of course they are all her voices. Most of her fans know that I think. She is my first English teacher. I tried to memorize all the songs in the album"ONJ" when I was a child. ONJ 4ever!

  • One of the best of her earlier songs for sure....I still have this on vinyl.:)

  • hermosa...linda...fenomenal !!!

  • Karen Carpenter had a voice of angel as well. We left us way to soon. There will never ever be another Karen. We miss you!!!!

  • The Shania of the 70's 80"

  • besides Olivia's angelic voice, I love the slide guitar.

  • besides Olivia's angelic voice, I love the slide guitar.

  • The 70s were the best period for female singers...the 80s and beyond were all about appearance, this was about the music and the singers.

  • I thank I sang all her songs in jr high and high school gong shows in the 70's.

  • ah, remember the days when singers had to actually sing and feel emotion as they do it? Take me back to the days!

  • Livvy hit #33 in Billboard, 9-18-76. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!

  • This song "Don't Stop Believin'" by Olivia Newton-John should not be confused with rock group Journey, which they later did that different melody of that same song in 1981.

  • @alan1963 Different lyrics too.....

  • This was my favorite Olivia song back in the day! I love that rocking horse!

  • I must say that i agree that this is ""talent"" ... and today's music isn't music...it's just a bunch of noise ... where are the "greats" like Olivia, Karen Carpenter, Anne Murray ... just to name a few...

  • thank you.

  • GOSH YES, This talent is JUST RARE. TODAYS MUSIC IS CRAP.

  • this is a fine example of the kind of innocence that is lost in today's music. It is also more sincere.

  • i consider this one her the finest albums, but really it should be hers/his, john farar was the greatest

  • Hey greg8698, you are 100% correct my friend. Also She's one of the Worlds greatest enetrainers of all time. I saw her 3 times at Pine Knob in Clarkston, Michigan.

  • I saw the wooden rocking horse at a museum in nashville13 years ago.

  • i love how people are all like " i like the journey version better" (song in which i love) when there completely different songs that have nothing to do with each other lol

  • God bless Australia, well done for producing such a good star such as Olivia Newton-John this song is better than in Grease, even though your voice is good all round :) and it always seems like no-one wants to know me, not just some days :(

  • I prefer the version by Journey.

  • @7beers Both songs push the same message and if you're a fan of both (I am), you wouldn't be able to choose

  • @Jenette0319 I was joking actually, because they are not two versions of the same song -- they are two completely different songs that happen to share the same title! :)

  • es la mujer mas bella del mundo, , en mi adolescencia mi mundo era ella, mis noches y dias era ella, ; fue mi gran amor de adoscencia, te amo oliviaforever

  • olivia in her prime vs. belinda carlisle in her prime... i cant decide who was the most beautiful ? lol

  • @fullautofire why choose? They are both equally beautiful in voice and in appearance

  • brings me back to when I was about 10 years old....standing in front of my mirror with my brush as the microphone!!! hehe!

  • Is a beautiful song, make me feel nostalgy

  • Awesome!!!

    JC

  • Beautiful song by the most beautiful woman in the world.

  • @RPM1961 SO TRUE!!!!!!

  • What very few people realize is that Olivia sang all of the back up vocals on this song. Is that not incredible? She simply went in to the studio and sang all of the back ups on different tracks then sang the lead. She, like her best friend, Karen Carpenter, is one talented singer. All though they try so hard, todays singers can't even come close to the vocals of Olivia, a true legend.

  • Your thoughts are my exact thoughts. I could almost swear I wrote this. How spooky!

  • @greg8698 HI GREG, Yes Olivia did an amazing job on her own vocals in this song.

I swear I thought only I caught that- lol. it is a fav of mine

  • @greg8698 As much as I love both of these women (Carpenter and Newton-john), Karen had a brother who is so under-appreciated and he was capable of creating music just for her and he was (and probably still is), a highly skilled producer. The team is what made them (carpenters) great.

  • @greg8698 lots of vocalists sing their own harmonies. It's not that amazing of a feat. For instance Leslie Feist sings harmonies with herself live using a looping pedal. Try doing that.

  • the best of onj
