@disconcertedd I can't id that specific turntable, but it's one of the high end models costing quite a packet. Have a look at highendpalace . com/ANALOG for an idea of what's available.
@Claudius131 Thanks for the response! WOW! I didn't know that you could spend that much money on a turntable!!! Heck, the have a cartridge for $5550.00 alone! Guess I won't be able to retire next year!!! Thanks again!
The person who voted "thumbs down" illustrates that there's 'one' in every crowd. :-) Thanks for posting this. I have it on vinyl but it's in a closet with about 400 other record albums.
@Thadmotor1044 It never ceases to amaze me how the most innocuous of comments can draw calumny and abuse from the illiterate and ignorant. I've forgotten more about the blues than you'll ever KNOW. Go back to school and this time LISTEN to what you're taught. I said nothing pejorative at all about Mr. Walker.
Awesome album and band.... just got transported back to 1971 when they did the USA tour for this one. One of my all time favorite concerts....Savoy made the blues feel so good... they were always part of our party nights. They were the 'tightest' band I ever heard live.
@rustribbonwizz ... Yep thanks! ... for sure, they were my all time favorite blues band with those early albums even with the lineup changes. Kim Simmons really knew how to put a good blues band together and pick just the right vocalist to complete the mix. Being British it's amazing how they took the American blues sound and made it fresh to us kids at that time. They blew us away with that nights' performance. That's how good they were!
Dave Walker the vocalist n this tune does a killer job. He is still singing, the Dave Walker band just released a new CD a few days ago called "Crazy All the Time", he still sounds great.
Savoy Brown Blues Band, are a British blues band formed in 1966, in Battersea, South West London.[1] Part of the late 1960s blues rock movement, Savoy Brown never achieved as much success in their homeland as they did in the United States, where they promoted their albums with non-stop touring.[1]
DUDE!!! I tried like hell to make that concert in Denver. Oct. 31, 1972!!
was supposed to be a free concert featuring Savoy Brown and Uriah Heep!!!
Whatta kickass concert that musta been! Even had some babes we were supposed to meet up with. But we got snowed out 7 miles east of denver when the highway patrol closed the damn road!!!! I WAS LIVID!!!! That close and travel that many miles, from savannah, ga on my way home to Auburn, Ca., and to miss it by mere minutes!!
back when things were clean easy and un shitty.day was day night was night.and at night we pounded the instruments and felt good about our girls. and now?.......oh well
Saw them in 1972 or 1973 in SA Texas. Uriah Heep opened for them and blew them off the stage. Savoy Brown had some people changes at that time and Uriah Heep was trying to make them look bad. Always loved Savoy Brown anyway.
am checking old ticket stubs, might have been, Uriah Heap, then Mountain.; then Savoy Brown, with a group ending, we all got off,and kicked out of the hall by Denver PD, the Rainbow Music Hall was a trip!
Heard Dave Walker sing this song this weekend at Chico Hot Springs in Montana. He was the vocalist on this record - has a new band - the Dave Walker Band. Don't miss 'em if you get a chance!
Sound like Little Feet on this track. They were great live I remember seeing them lots of times with various line ups but always with the great lead guitar duo. The band I was in played support at one gig it was good to be on the same bill.
Saw Savoy Brown on Halloween night in Denver 1972. I think Mountain was with 'em, but to tell ya the truth, I don't remember a hell of a lot about those good times!
Was it Mountain or Uriah Heap that opened? Lotta weed got passed in those days. I do remember that it snowed like hell when we were in the concert and there was a foot on the roads when we came out all baked!
Great guitar riff! The hammond sound sounds fill it out. It's great but it also needs more development and a snappier punch....maybe It needs something like the brass punch they had on "I'm Tired".
Where on youtube is "All I can do"? I know it's too long, but maybe someone can(or already has)edited the way too long instumental solo.Otherwise it's a great song.
Saw them back in 06 at a small 179 seat theater in York SC. Kim simmonds was at the helm. Great band!!! I can still remember playing the main riff on my guitar over and over back in 1971 driving my mom NUTS.
I was a 'gourmet' back in the day myself. Great group! Savoy Brown was up there in the same class as FleetwoodMac, Chicken Shack and John Mayall in those great early days. Have or 'had' all their music one time or another and saw most of them back in '67-'70 whenever they appeared in Boston at the "Boston Tea Party"
Great lead guitar tone. Flying V, maybe?
