  • First of all, osteoporosis is not a disease. It is a natural process of aging. It is not life-threatening nor does it cause pain. It is wrongly assumed to result in hip fractures of the elderly when, in fact, half of elderly hip fracture patients do NOT have osteoporosis.

The growing evidence is that bisphosphonates do more harm than good. Watch the ABC news videos on osteoporosis and bisphosphonates. And tell everyone you know NOT to take bisphosphonates.

  • @stracypt Most of what you said isn't true. Try reading a pathology book. "Osteoporosis is a metabolic bone DISEASE characterized by diffuse skeletal lesions in which NORMALLY mineralized bone is decreased in mass..." (from Rubin's Pathology). AKA, osteoporosis is a disease and quite abnormal, thus not a natural process of aging.

~1 million Americans/year experience a fracture due to OP and 40-50K of them die due to complications. (AKA painful and deadly)

I do agree this video is crap though!
