@AttackRoflCoptter - Great job for being clean for 6 (and hopefully more at this time) months!! Hopefully, you're in some kind of program such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) for added support. (Just fyi that one may attend an "open" AA meeting if he or she doesn't have a drinking problem.) Please remember the motto's "People, places and things" and "One day at a time" regarding one's sobriety (staying sober). My friend has a Brain Injury from huffing at 12, now in her 30s.
@AttackRoflCoptter - Just fyi, for anyone, that field experts have referred to those who stop "using" (drug or alcohol - or any addictive behavior) on their own (without a 12-step program and/or Addictions counseling) as a "dry drunk" since those individuals haven't dealt with the issues that may have led to self-medicating in the first place. Please, everyone, be smart and make good, HEALTHY choices in life :)
@Jannsmith The problem with it its an awesome feeling like you are flying my first one i thought i was dreaming and it was awesome then i realised that iam not dreaming then it comes the funny part you start laughing for no reason its really good but i stoped it after my freind died from it suddenly, then i stoped it but i do miss it but man fuck it i dont need it ;) not worth my life for a feeling
My Brother has been doing this since jr high, he's 42. He never fucking died. Oh yeah, another side effect is ruining relationships with family....................................
@elgalan1975 - I'm so sorry that you've had to deal with your brother's inhalant addiction & for such a long period of time. Addiction does affect the entire family of which you're all too familar. Hopefully, you and/or your family have attended Al-Anon. My friend has a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) from huffing at the age of 12, now in her 30s. Not everyone dies from inhalant use but may end up with permanent neurological (brain, spinal cord, nerves) damage.
@Jannsmith Yes, it is diffucult, and since there are no set guidelines, we cannot really use the law to force him into any treatments, despite his lengthy criminal record, he keeps falling throught the cracks. He is no longer himself, Can't even catch a glimpse of who he used to be. I've stopped trying to help only because i now realize it's useless unless he's the one asking for help.
@SpecializedChild462 yeah weed has awful effects, i just turned 22 am graduating top in my class from college and have already been accepted into med school, and teach brazillian jujitsu on weekends, and can run ten miles in one hour, so yeah weed has really held me back in life with its awful effects, I smoke almost daily and it has never once interfered with my life don't believe what you are told weed is innocuous
@SpecializedChild462 your choice but there are plenty of examples like me our past 3 presidents all smoked pot in their lives, it is the only drug in my opinion that can be taken and used safely for long periods without and negative side effects, and science agrees
that was an excellent, very accurate video. great job, thank you. i am going to show it in my Addictions Treatment class in college for my inhalants presentation.
@liveloveworshipHim - Bless you for showing your class a video about the dangers of inhalant use! My friend actually has a Brain Injury from huffing at the age of 12, now in her 30s, as I'd mentioned in another post. Thank you for bring attention to such an important issue as the risks and consequences of huffing. Those who use inhalants may not realize that the chemicals in products used for huffing are actual POISONS that were never meant to go through the bloodstream.
@gotsumthin2say - It really IS sad. Young people, in particular, may be misinformed or uninformed about the true dangers of inhalant use. My friend has a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) from huffing at the age of 12, now in her 30s. Please let your kids or younger siblings (or cousins) know of them, too and make good, healthy choices in life.
If you "huff" too much it will make you RETARDED or DEAD.
