Gastroscopy and biopsy under conscious sedation

done this 3 times, the worst part is swallowing it. its funny, the endoscope is so thin but it feels huge in your throat. ultimately, its doable and not that bad at all. let me tell you, the assisting nurse mopping up your involuntary tears, it's a good job they always have her there, nurses are a godsend. doctors ought to explain to you that you can breathe normally even though your logical brain cant work out how it is possible.

Mine was horrible, didn't take the sidation, massive mistake that was!! Chocked and gagged and paniced my way through it. I couldnt breath because I was gagging I felt like they were choking me. Nurse had to hold me down at one point to stop me getting up and pulling the camera out :o(
