Do people forget that the reason this song was recorded was that Karma had stolen Jude's song on IS? Obviously the song isn't meant to measure up to the original. Therefore, there's no reason to state the obvious that Alexz's version is better.

Personally, I don't think it was called for to change the lyrics. xp But I like it. She harmonizes well. =)

The show was the reason for the song being in existence in the first place. The song was recorded BECAUSE it was necessary in the show for Karma to take Jude's song. OBVIOUSLY Cory Lee recorded it, but not for herself, it was for the show.

And believe me, I can tell the difference between the characters and the actors. I don't like Karma at all, but I'm a big, big fan of Cory Lee.

I think their both REALLY good, I think they wanted a diffrent spin on the song, and BOY is it diffrent!!! I LOVE alexz's version and its better yes. But I really like this one too. It was a good idea to have her redo it I think. Its kinda Fresh vs. all the punk rock. I like almost all types of music, and Karma is a good break from straight ROCK! lol.

Both ladies have done a good job at presenting how "Waste My Time" should sound. Alexz Johnson the original singer put more emotion into the song. Cory Lee put her own style into the style. Well here is my two cents. Enjoy!

She sang this version of Jude/Alexz's song to win the next Instant Star competition. That said, I dislike this version, not because it is not Alexz singing, but because I liked the original rock feel of "Waste My Time" Not to mention that throwing Shay and a little hip hop into the mix was great!

None of the songs that Cory sung on the album are actually changed to R&B. They're just more pop. Cory's 2nd album isn't even R&B, it's pop. And her first one had mixes of pop/R&B. But I do like this song. However, I think the original is better. :\

Yeah same here. I mean Cory can sing. But she's not right for this song. And Alexz did so much better on Just the Beginning then Tyler did. I think that they should have let the orignal artist do their own songs for the soundtrack. Cory has a ton of songs she could have done same as tyler.
