  • The hardest part about this is actually trying to make the pincurl. Unfortunately, I cant set it up wet overnight because my hair will look greasy and strange in the morning. It makes me so mad!

  • love ur outfit!

  • you are fantastic!! such a cute look, and I love your outfit <3

  • What about damp with hairspray at the ends? I have been trying to master this technique.

  • I have naturally thick, curly hair (it's somewhere between wavy and tight ringlets - apparently called Type 3a). Unfortunately, not only is my hair stubborn, but I have no hand-eye coordination. :)

Anyway, my hair won't flatten when I try to curl it both wet and dry, which makes an awful mess instead of being calm like yours. Do you have any suggestions for someone with curly hair, or any resources where I can find help? I tried to Google it and came up with practically nothing.

  • @beatlesforever65 Why don't you straighten it?

  • @MadmanPanda I would, but curly hair is extremely brittle and last time I straightened it, it quite literally stuck out several feet behind my head from static electricity. Not the exact look I was going for. XD

  • @beatlesforever65 lol Have you ever tried co-washing, or anti-frizz serum?

  • I LOVE Your dress! Its sooo cute. Envy.

  • what is putty?

  • wow you are so quirky and cool. i subbed

  • Thanks so much for this video; I'm using this hairstyle for my prom.

  • lovely! thank you, much appreciated!

  • @CaelahBethyBear I think most of clothes are vintage :)

  • i like the music actually but it could be softer

  • XD Yay I'm asian/european too!!

  • The music on this video is just awful and really distracting. It ruins an otherwise really informative video. :-/

  • @coughlink7 Wow, what a bitchy thing to say. You're a very sad person.

  • do u have to play such depressing music the whole time gosh!!

  • I adore everything about your tutorial except for one tiny thing. I find the music to be a bit loud at times as it overpowers your voice and makes it hard to hear your instructions :( Other than that, good job and keep up those tutorials :D

  • Boring personality my toe. Your personality is actually kind of soothing, I've sat here and watched 3-4 of your videos in it's entirety, a feat for me!

  • Love this tutorial, but I was wondering if you had any tips for layered hair. It'd be very helpful, thanks!

  • I *LOVED* your pin-curls and pageboy tutorials! I'm SO subscribing! Question: Have u tried using a "bonnet" hair dryer to speed up the process? I know the point is 2 avoid heat styling, but 4 an event in which u want the same look w/o time 2 sleep on it, u get great results! I've found them to b super useful tool 4 a lot of vinatges styles (anything w/pin-curls, or finger/marcel waves), *especially* 4 people like me w/lots of long, curly/wavy, thick hair that has 2 b styled when it's VERY wet :)

  • aya! are u arab :)

  • @3maneya haha, no, I am Asian/European. Close though! ;)

  • @StrawberryKoiVintage aww cause your name is arabian, or maybe it means something else where you're from haha:)

you're gorgeous! thanks for the vid !

    xxx

  • @3maneya It's also a Japanese name! Interesting :))

  • @StrawberryKoiVintage it's also a Latvian name... but spelt Aija.. cool!

  • Very informative. You demonstrate you can post great videos without the trash. I'll have to try doing pincurls myself.

  • do you find that they stay in longer than tong curls??? i cant keep curls in my hair haha! awesome tutorial :D

  • Okay, your awesome! :)

But whenever I've tried to put my hair in pincurls, it turns out WAY poofy (I'm talkin AFRO) or wont stay curly :( I LOVE this look but my short/thick/layered hair won't do it. :(

  • Wow your hair turned out Really nice!! Thank you for sharing :)

  • what music do you use?

  • would curling mouse work?

  • So, first of all: Great tutorial! Very helpful :)

And second: What is it that you always say at the end of your videos? I can't really tell. Or maybe I'm just a bad listener?

  • @colaisbeautyful Thank you :) lol, I think it's just "Thank you for watching, this is Aya, bye bye" or somthing like that, lol :)

  • @StrawberryKoiVintage Haha, thanks. I kinda figured you were saying your name but I couldn't tell.

  • i regret getting my hair layered..its so much harder to do pin curls -_- because i LOVE the results. just didnt know about it before i got it layered

  • should i straighten my hair first cuz i have really curly wavy frizzy hair.. please help! :)

  • Great video!

My hair was just butchered into something short, shaggy and awkward, so I have to let it grow out again. (Argh!) BUT I did try out your instructions on one section that was long enough, and it worked very nicely. In fact it even salvaged my appearance...just a little. :>

Part 2 is awesome as well. Thanks so much for explaining everything.

  • What beautiful shiny hair!!!

  • Love this look, but just wondering how long does it take to do?

  • omg i luv ur outfit!!!

  • Hey, I was just wondering if your hair is dry or damp in the tutorials? I too have very thick hair and whenever I try to do pin curls I fail (especially in winter) because my hair doesn't dry well!

  • I love your How To for the pincurls. I have been trying out the pincurls, but i have noticed that i have really frizzy hair when i take them out. Is there a way to help or fix the frizziness?

  • @sydneyaussie93 that happens with me naturally too! I find the best way to get rid of frizz is to use some sort of oil on your hair... I use bodyshop coconut oil (in a tin) or l'oreal elvive nutri-gloss serum (in a little pink bottle) depends what I want to smell like XD but they both work a treat : 3 hope that helps x

  • Your videos are great...and I happen to like what you are wearing. :) I chopped off a lot of my long hair and now I it is the length of your hair here...I'ev been struggling with how to style it and this helps immensely. Thanks!

  • Doing pin curls with layered hair is officially Hell. Any tips to make it easier?

  • You look cute :)

    Love couture obviously

Doesn't know what she's talking about!

  • @LoveCoutureLuck I am wearing what I want to wear! I am not a conformist ;)

  • veeery well explained. thank you!

  • hi

i just wanna say that you are amazing at all the hairstyles you do like all the 50's hairstyle and you make everything seem easy

but can you do a how to get 80's curls please i'm in love with the 80's hair. but i cant seem to do the hair please can you help . like can i do some sort of request and if your not sure about what kinda hair i'm talking about please go to youtube and write 80's hair and theres a video that shows about 60 diffrent 80's hair please try to do at least 1 i'm begging

  • @mhunterjumper Thank you so much! ^__^

  • I love your style ! and ur tutorials are great !!

  • how long does it take to pin up all your hair?

  • I really think you are great. I love your videos.

  • @momoody974 Thank you so much for this comment! :)

  • Good use of editing to keep the pace good, information is specific presentation is conversational but with enough brevity so as to not be tedious

  • I have layered hair. would this work better for all one length hair?

  • @katydella08 You can do pin curls with layered hair. The only thing different you have to do is separate your layers and curl each layer. Doing it the normal way will result in pieces sticking out of your curl. Work with the layers, not against them. It takes a lot longer since your not only dividing the hair based on part but layer length as well.

  • i cant get my hair to keep in the little loop. i put it in a loop and then little bits just pop out when i try to roll it up. it's so frustrating, and it's making me yell at my poor hair!!!

  • @polkadotpolka123 Are you setting your hair while it's damp? I'm guessing your hair is quite layers, which has that result... the best you can do is, set your hair while it's damp and use putty or a soft gell throughout your hair. You might also have to use more bobby-pins that the reccomended two, as well as use a scarf to hold everything in place after the setting process :)

    Keep practicing, you'll get it!

  • Um, so, if you use the hair putty, do you still need hairspray afterward when you're ready to brush it out? And, if we need hairspray, do you recommend spraying it before or after you remove the pins? Please and thank you! :]

  • @mrhajiman If you use the putty, it isn't a nessesity to use hairspray too. Often I don't myself, but if I feel the hairstyle is a bit on the "fragil" side and I know I'm going to be out all day, I'll use a little hairspray post-styling. Yes, never use hairspray for the setting process! It *can* be done, but it makes it a royal pain to style, and most likely it will just destroy the style you are going for :( Putty is flexable, and that's why it's ok to use during the setting :)

  • do you have to leave them overnight or can you take them out before?

  • @theoneandonlymoose It's up to you... you just need to leave them in long enough to dry! So you can just lightly spritz them after the setting process, and probably take them out after an hour or two :)

  • i absolutley LOVE all your videos! they are soo helpful!

  • This was sooooo helpful! My hair looks great :)

  • I tried it the other day. i have curly hair and when i took them out, the bottom was perfect but the top towards the roots was frizzy and wavy. does this work if your hair is curly? and do i really need to follow a pattern?

  • I can see that causing some issues... I think there is a variety of things you could do, such as straightening your hair prior to the setting process. Personally, I would allow the waves to be as they are, but I would rub in a little anti-frizz serum after styling to smooth down the fuzzies :) Simple, and it should still look gorgeous.

As for setting perfectly to the diagram, I do not think that is necessary :)

  • @StrawberryKoiVintage thanks! and i cant wait to see you do a new video with your new bangs!

  • @KateBushFan8 - how did you get them to stay in all day? Mine fall out :( Did you damp set with any product? Many thanks :) x x

  • I don't think you used enough styling gel.

  • I am so sorry for not getting to this! I know it's late, but just in case you or anyone is wondering... yes, I use the putty (think styling cream) while my hair is still damp. It's a thick consistency, like toothpaste. Gels are often too weak, and hairsprays are too sticky.. look for something along the lines of "mold-able" or something very thick and strong :)

  • I just got my super long hair cut to about the same length as yours so this will be perfect for me, thank you :D

  • lol id say her hair was quite short, people call mine short and its about 2 and half inches longer lol

  • same here! : )

    Cant wait to try this

  • Thankyou so much for this! I've been looking for a video on how to curl my hair vintage-style without having to buy a ton of stuff for ages. I tried it out a few days ago and it worked brilliantly! The curls stayed in all day!

I'm going to try and do it neater next time, because I forgot to make them all face the same way so the ends were a bit crazy.

    Thanks again!

  • That's awesome! And thank YOU :))

  • i love what your wearing in this video!

  • When did you start to get interested in vintage clothes and the old hair styles? I didnt appreciate vintage before I started waztching your videos. My grandmother still has alot of old clothes. She has a bathing suit from then also. 50 or 60s i think she said it was from. It has a high waisted bottom and a bikini top.

  • I've always loved old fashioned things... it's very romantic and mysterious to me, because of the classic feel and strong quality... But it all really started when I began following vintage fashion blogs, which caused me to start writing my own! Youtube actually came in later as an accompaniment :)

  • I have always loved old fashioned things too, I love Musicals and old T.V. Shows such as "I Love Lucy" I am again being a 50's girl for Halloween, just to give out candy, but I have my Crinoline and my Dress all ready. This time I think I will be more of a Housewife type. With Red lipstick and maybe a pearl necklace. I love your videos Aya!! ~Erin

  • Do you have any suggestions for a result like the one from pincurls, but for thick, very curly hair like mine? I just don't know what to do to achieve that look because my hair is curly. Thanks.

  • I think curly hair causes trouble for my girls out there, and having naturally very straight hair, my opinion only means so much.... but I think you have two options:

    1. Straighten your hair prior to setting, dampen and follow the rest of the instructions in the video.

    2. Set your hair wet rather than damp, so your hair is as straight as possible... and let dry for an entire 24 hours.

They both take a little extra work, but I think the result will feel well worth it :)

  • You HAVE to tell me where you get your clothes!

  • This outfit was thrifted pieces from the Salvation army... a school uniform (peter pan collar) blouse and a vintage sweater vest. The black bow is just a simple ribbon that I tied around my neck :) and a vintage skirt.

Almost all of my clothes are vintage (about 80%) and about 10% thrifted and 10% vintage inspired pieces from stores like H&M and Forever21 :)

  • I've been wanting to do these for so long. You make them so easy with clear instructions. I did my first set last night, and I am in love! Thank you!!!

  • Brilliant tutorial! Though you make it look SO much easier than it actually is O_o I had some difficulty, I'll admit, but practice makes progress, yeah?

  • Yes, so true! I think it's difficult for everyone at first... don't feel bad :)

  • Sometimes ends can be a little tricky... I often redo it, if it comes out... but if I am in a hurry, I'll just tuck it in and pin it :) It's best for the ends to be inside the curl, so you down have straight ends later on... but just tucking it back in wont hurt anything :)

  • thankyou this was really clear and east to watch. i also loved your outfit :) wasn't heaps keen on the guitar though.

  • Comment removed

  • The layering is what's going to give you *some* trouble, but it's still perfectly possible! :) You just might have to redo the curls a couple of times, because the layers have a tendency to fall out as you roll the hair up. As for the length, you'll get curls about the same as mine, depending on how long you leave them in and how thick you make the individual sections :)

  • thank you!

  • Hello, your tutorial is very helpful. Thank you! :) I think I am going to try it tomorow but I only have some hair mousse, will it be ok, or should I buy some hair gel or wax?

  • Hair mousse will work ok... it might not have much hold and it may be a bit hard to come through later, but it wouldn't be bad :) It's ok to not use any product at all too, it just wont last as many days :)

  • Can I use duck bill clips in lieu of bobby pins?

Also, what about modeling wax instead of gel? (I´ve never seen styling putty) I mean, I know it´s possible but have you tried any of these substitutions and what would be your recommendation for best results?

I have thick, waist length hair if that makes a difference.

    Thanks.

  • I've seen a lot of people use duckbill clips... I haven't used them myself, and I am not sure if they look comfortable to sleep it... but they still should do the job efficiently! :)

Modeling wax is basically the same as what I use, it's not so important what it's called so much as it is a thick and creamy substance that has good hold. And even then, gel and lighter products will still do the trick, the curls may just not last quite as long... I think what you have will do fine, go for it :)

  • Will this work for longer hair? Even if you part it so that it is still 2 inches? I really want to do this but my hair is kinda thick and is probably a bit less or more than 15 cm from my shoulders! And will it be way more difficult to do?

  • Pin curls will work for ANY length of hair, but depending on the length you may have to go about it a little differently. If your hair is quite long, definitely do NOT set it wet! Set it still damp, but not soaking (which is true in all cases, but the shorter the hair is, the more leeway you have). Be careful not to set the pin curls too large, because the length will weigh down the curls... so don't use hair any thicker than an inch. Your hair should come out more like a Veronica Lake do :)

  • Great video and really helpful :) but I don't live in the US nor in a country where they sell hair putty (I don't even know what exactly it is) but I got something of a similar texture called playball motion gelee from l'oreal, is that good enough for this?? or so you know what else i could use?

  • I'm sure it's fine, so as long as it has strong hold and isn't too sticky.... that's all that matters :) Heck, sometimes I got without any product at all,.. but the curls don't last as long :(

  • I would love to try this b/c I hate having to fry my hair with heat...but I just cut off my long hair :( boooo. do you think this would work on shorter hair slightly above the shoulder?

plus I seriously love your outfit. Its absolutely adorable.

  • Thank you!!! :D I got a hair cut recently too, and it's right at my shoulders... maybe even as much as an inch past it. Having shorter hair causes the curls to be tighter and shorter in general, but you should still end up with something really cute :) (which I'd love to see on you!)

  • Thanks for the wonderful tutorial!

My curls came out great even though I had to use my father's holding paste...

(I now smell like shave grass and jojoba!)

  • wow, this was really helpful, i definitely don´t wanna use heat for curls so this is a very good alternative!

  • That's exactly why I like pin curls too :) They also just have over-all better hold... So glad you got something out of my video :)))

  • Great video, just tried it out, can't wait to see what my hair looks like in the morning :)

  • Good luck! :)

  • hey i LOVE this video !

whilst i am typing this my mum id doing pin curls for me !

i have a tea dance tomorow at school and your vid was by far the most helpful !

    OUCH!

it IS a bit sore though lol

  • heyy, if u dont leave them over night like if u keep it for lets say 2 and 1/2 hrs will it work

  • It all depends on how wet the pin curls are, but the answer is definitely "yes"! :) There has been times I just put in a little product at the ends of my hair and set the pin curls for only about 20 minutes! Of course, the less time you allow them to set, the less they will curl... but over night is not a necessity :)

  • will i still get the same affect if it is for 2 hrs?

  • It will curl, but it will not have as strong as curls... more like waves.

  • I think you are going to have to experiment. Yes, you can DEFINITELY do pin-curls for only 2 hours, but it becomes delicate balance between time, product and moisture of the hair. If you plan to do only 2 hours, be very careful to get your hair only SLIGHTLY damp. 1 light spritz will be more than plenty, and you might have to use a blow dryer as well :) Hope that helps, dear.

  • All your videos are amazing.

I'm going to try this tonight!

  • can you use pin curls on fairly longer hair? i have longer hair, about (sorry to use this reference) bra length (where the bra goes arcoss my back) is that too long?

  • It will be difficult for you to do particular hairstyles, but you can definitely do the pin-curls! :) You'll just have to go for some different looks... like the classic Veronica Lake "peek-a-boo" hairstyle :)

  • Thanks!

  • I am a bit confused. So the directions of the curls are all the same way and you curl the hair over itself? Also I looked at the diagrams and the one said to like turn them counter clockwise and clockwise depending on if you are on the right or left what does that mean and is it for a different style? Thanks! You should be a vintage hairstylist!

  • Thanks :)The diagram uses "clockwise and counter clockwise", and even though it's true, I think it confuses the brain! lol I said, "all going the same direction", because you really don't want your pin-curls going every which way, creating a mess and wouldn't make for uniform curls.

When you roll-up your hair, just try to keep the curls in a uniform direction, most of which should go in the direction, directly away from your face. Match curls on both sides of your head, like a mirrored image :)

  • i love all your videos!!

i am totally going to try this later!

    thanks!

  • Thanks! That's wonderful! ^_^

  • Great tutorial. I am currently looking at my third attempt at pincurls and they're much better then the disaster I had on my head the first time around. Thanks for showing the putty as well, it seems to eb working. :)

  • The bobby pins put kinks in my hair! My curls come out with corners! I have hair that falls to the small of my back. I do tons of little sections, but it happens anyways. Do you think it's just too long, and the curls are too thick? Or is there a trick to not getting kinks?

Because my hair's so long I found a really fast way to make the curls. Roll the hair around a smooth lipstick tube to the scalp, same as with a foam roller, then slide the tube out, turn the curl on the side and pin. :D

  • A tube of lipstick is an excellent idea! Good thinking! ^_^

It very well might be that there is too much hair being held by the bobby pins... and causing too much pressure. There are several options:

    1. Ignore the kinks, especially if you plan on brushing out the curls

    2. Bend your bobby pins so they are slightly wider

    3. Pin curl less amounts of hair

    4. Purchase clips specifically designed for pin curls, called "gator clips".

I hope that helps a little, keep experimenting :)

  • I'm wondering while I was watching this, can you pin curl your hair if it has layers? I mean, I can't even braid my hair without hairs flying out all over the place because they're so short.

    So its possible right?

  • Oh yes, it's definitely possible! :) I have done it with lots of layers and without, so I have experience doing both. But I can say, however, having lots of layers makes it more difficult. You will most likely have to re-roll the section of hair several times, be forced to set it damp only, and always use product. And even still, you will have little pieces come out, that you will have to pin back into the rest of the hair. But it is DEFINITELY possible, and worth the trouble :)

  • Every-time I try to do pin curls they never ever work out well.

My hair is actually naturally curly, but not the same curls you get from a curling iron or pin curls, there like big ugly curls...

When straight, my hair is past my shoulders...

When I shower at night, pin curl it and then take it out in the morning my curls are a disaster! They stick out in every direction!

Can you give me any tips or help for this?!

    Thanks!!!!

  • As I do not have naturally curly hair, the best thing I can recommend, is a LOT of experimenting...

Some things I recommend experimenting with:

    1) Size of pin-curls. Try making bigger curls... it should "weigh" them down to control the volume.

    2) Amount of product. Try using more, and then less product, to see the differences it causes.

    3) Setting dry or damp. Try out both.. it makes a difference on weight. (I would do dry first, maybe even skip a day's shampoo)

    Good luck! :)

  • I also wanted to add, make sure all of your pin-curls are face the same direction! I know I mentioned that in the video, but it is very important... Good luck again :)

  • so this can make the same kind of curls that rollers do? cuz i usually wake up with a soar neck when i use rollers :(

  • If you get pin-curls down to an art, you can use them instead of rollers... but usually pin curls are best brushed out, whereas rollers make curls look gorgeous as is. And pin-curls DEFINITELY hurt a lot less.

Experiment though, that's the best advise ;)

  • so...i have been experimenting with the pin curls.

but they never come out the way i want them to. i usually have to fix them with the curling iron, which i hate doing because it damages my hair.

so i guess i'm sticking with rollers and a soar neck. haha

thanks for the tut though :)

  • it would be great if you could do some styling variations based on this tutorial...different styles you can build up from this. Perhaps a Marilyn Monroe or Jane Russel look (such as in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes). That would be great!

I'm glad you posted this---I've always wanted to do this, but I end up with half of them falling out at night and turning out uneven! I had no idea what I was doing....I was just guessing!

  • Those are some great ideas! I have already the "pageboy" and "classic bouffant", but your suggestions are great to take it even further :)

    Thanks so much!

  • Thank you so much for your videos!!! I will try this out tonight and hopefully do it right to have nice curls tomorrow! Do you have any advice for pin-curling long hair (just past the armpits)? Would you need more than one bobby pin for the curls then?

  • You will definitely need more than one bobby-pin, and you might want to use a less amount of hair, than I did... Just make sure to cross one bobby-pin over the other, and if you need more than two... it's ok :) Definitely experiment, and don't get discouraged if the first time doesn't work out :) Good luck!!

  • pin curls look like too much work, but im probably gonna change my mind sooner or later. i would love to do it at night and see what happens when i wake up =]

  • In a way, it is a lot of work - but in another way, it is less work than other methods of curling hair. Because even though it takes me about 30 mins to pincurl my hair, it only takes me about 5 mins the next morning to style my hair! VS 35-45 mins (hot)curling AND styling my hair all in one session. So, it just depends what a person is in the mood for and has time for :)

  • Yea. Pincurls are best done at night, I do that all the time. One tight I will have some free time from my college exams and I'll just take a nice relaxing shower and then gentle towel my hair so it's damp, pin curl, and sleep. :) Then the next day I wake up and I feel so beautiful and it makes my day.

Thank you so much for the scarf recommendation, I would have never thought of that. Do you know what type of fabric works best?

  • Oh, I always feel the same way!! ^_^

I'm sure it isn't a big deal about the kind of fabric your scarf is, but heavier grain materials would slide around less than silky types of fabrics... so I would look for cotton or something similar ^_^

  • I posted my pin curl tutorial as a vid response because I referenced your video quite alot on mine. Thanks again,

  • Have you ever considered modeling? Your look is so exotic.

  • aww, thank you so much ^_^

  • hi! :) you are very nice and I love your videos.

    Pincurls are awesome! :D *

  • Thank you! ^_^

  • Great tutorial! I haven't done pincurls in awhile, mostly because I hate having to sleep with them. Love the idea of using the hair putty and just damp hair. Shall have to try that soon! :)

  • I know how you feel... but they definitely beat foam rollers! ^_~ teehee

    Thanks and good luck!

  • hi you are very very beautifull

  • Thank you =^_^=

  • Alas, I can't use the putty. It doesnt work for me. Water works best for me until I brush and then I use a serum to smooth. I'll post my technique as a vid response for you.

  • Everyone's hair is different, you know? :) Sounds good, I can't wait to see it!

  • I got that book about 'creative hairstyling' The haircut options are alot more extensive than I originally thought. I realize now that I have the 'middy plus'. I'm so excited to show it to my hairstylist so that she can start cutting mine 'by the book'. The diagrams are so intricate. The only thing I wish is that the fingerwave technique was more clear...grrrr. Whatever. Do you have a technique for those?

  • your tags are hilarious

  • Oh, I don't have nothing on some girls out there! ;)

  • that's really tideous, but i am glad i know the technique

  • It is, but oh, the things we endure for great hair! ^_~ teehee

  • i was too lazy to be trying to do pincurls till now, but I just might do it finally after watching your tutorial ^_^

  • Thanks and good luck! ^_^

  • No. I never smile! It's a rule in my house that we can't have fun or smile. That's a joke by the way.

  • I do pin curls almost every night. It curls the hair w/o using heat which is great for relaxed hair

  • Very, very true! That is one of the biggest reasons I love pincurls!

  • Thank you SO much for this tutorial!

As I can see, you didn't pin curl the "back" of your hair. I always find it tricky to pin curl the back of my hair, since I can't see it. I might try out your version to see how it'll work out.

    Thanks again!

  • Thank you! I did pin curl the back of my hair... they follow the flow of the other pin curls, so there might be a small space of hair that doesn't make it into the pin curl, because there is a point that they meet at the back and face opposite directions... It may be hard to get the hang of it at first, but you'll get it ^_^

  • Thank you very much for this helpfull tutorial, Aya, it was great to see your way of achieving the base for so many beautiful hair styles you make. I would have liked to see how the hair looks right when you take the bobby pins and you let it down. Does it look very curly or sligtly wavy?
