  • Vampire Weekend is the new Beatles :)

  • cuutiies, how old are they? still college boys? quirky is exactly the word I would use to describe the sound of this amiable band...how someone did before here or elsewhere...wanna see more! thnx for posting!!

  • what's the point of this song?

  • I have 100 pounds of iron, 50 pounds of steel, and coal.

I have 100 pounds of iron, 50 pounds of steel and coal.

In the first example, the amound of coal is not specified, while in the second example there are clearly 50 pounds of coal. By omitting the oxford comma, you can let people think that you have 50 pounds of coal, even if you do not, as the oxford comma is often viewed as optional.

Why would you lie about how much coal you have?

  • @kallerio no, you do not have 50 pounds of coal, you just know you have NO MORE than 50 pounds of coal because you are including the weight of steel.

  • @advenger32 yeah your right, but it's about the comma not about the amount of coal or steel

  • @kallerio then why wouldnt you just say you have 50 pounds if steel and 50 pounds of coal? youre saying in the second example you dont have ANY steel because you are saying that all 50 pounds is coal. sorry if i'm confusing.

  • @advenger32 haha you mean that i should have said :... in the second example there are 50 pounds of coal AND STEEL. right ? thats a typing error, sorry

  • the second time is an oxford climber, that's why he sings about climbing the mountain

  • lol lil jon

  • i <3 this song

  • Also i love this song! :P

  • I'm not sure how it relates to the rest of the song but an oxford comma is a comma before the word 'and' in a list. For example, "I like the colors green, purple, and teal". (That comma before and teal is an oxford comma) There is no comma in this sentence however: "I like the colors green, purple and teal". It's also called a serial comma or series comma

  • @missytessie i have always been taught to use it

  • An oxford comma is a reference to a preppy white guy XD

  • i thought it was coke too. haha

  • its coal

  • definitely think it's "how much coke you have" and not "how much coal you have."

  • Awesome! I love this band!

  • i love their lyrics!!

  • My kinda video! Sweet!
