I read somewhere on the internet that it was some sorta Ignition failure

But what you cant really see in the video is the amount of metal thrown into the air, they said that there were pieces thrown up to a thousand feet in all directions

They were saying he had a Dead ignition box, thus some of the cylinders were burning at much less temperature then others. The Motor loaded up with Fuel and BOOM!!!

the entire top half of that motor is GONE! It blew at the hit and still went to 330 it looks like- gotta love top fuel!

fuck the big boom that was a huge boom i was at pomona in 2000 when he did somthing like that i was only 8 years old

just imagine if these were still front engine dragsters, that would not be good, but i'd have to say that that has to be the biggest explosion in nhra history, and those guys didnt need to worry about putting the fire out, it was all at one time, lol

I was on the starting line 2 runs before this. I saw this explosion from the tower and cant imagine what it woulda been like being down there.
