  • I love all the geometry references! :)

  • I've been sewing for almost a year but am still REALLY bad about using fabric correctly. Basically, I just cut out my pattern where ever it fits on my fabric :/ I've made my own bias tape but not on the bias...I just cut strips and folded and ironed them. Do you have any other tips on using fabric correctly?! And now much a difference does it make? My items seem to have come out OK!

  • @bishonenrancher Oh, ok! Thx!

  • ......what if you don't hav a bias tape maker? Then what? I'm making a corset out of old pants and I thought that just simply folding a ribbon over the edge of the fabric would work......would it???

  • @lonelyemochick1 The problem with ribbon is that it doesn't stretch and when you wrap it around the curves of the corset, it will twist and wrinkle and generally look messy. You can make bias tape without a bias tape maker, it will probably just take a lot of pinning and careful fiddling.

  • Great job of explaining. I love your unique way of simply making a 45 deg angle with the paper. You made it simple. Very smart. thanks.

  • I've been watching all your videos, can't wait to share them with the women in my world. It seems silly that this is the first one I am commenting on but I've owned a bias tape maker for years and never got around to using it. After this video, I'm breaking it out and going to use it!! I'm glad you used that fabric because it's playful and encouraging me to want to make unique bias tape. You are a pleasure to watch!!! Thank you for all your time and effort!!

  • @BookriderDancing Thank you very much!

  • Just wondering, is there a reason that you pinned it at the end?

  • @xMusicIsMyPassionx This scrap material was a bad choice for demonstrating how to make bias tape. It wouldn't hold the crease from the iron very well, so I pinned it in place after pressing to keep it in shape. If you are using cotton, you probably won't need to pin. :)

  • Very nice don't look :-). It's always the same when someone says don't do somehing ...

  • Hahahaha! :D

  • THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!! I am so glad you showed that!

  • @bluemissytiger I'm glad you're glad! :)
