  • I met Teller when he visited Manchester, UK the other day. I was so nervous to approach him and say hi, but he we the most gracious, kind and intelligent magician, possibly even human being, that I have ever met.

  • I want to have a conversation with him. Haha

  • usually his genius is released in bursts but when he's TALKING while doing his amazing tricks it's an OVERLOAD.

  • Is this really the only video of him talking?

  • I've gotten into this guy after watching Penn & Teller: Fool Us. It's a hell of a show!

  • this is more inspiring than the kings speech

  • I could listen to him talk all day :)

  • He has such a gentle voice!

  • Penn and Teller are cool. Anyone who can show you slowly how a trick is done and you still cant understand it has to be at the top of their game. However this vid was an exercise in the bleeding obvious. Dont see what the point was!

  • What a beautiful voice Teller has. Pity we don't hear it more often. Many thanks for the upload. :)

  • this is a great video........i learnt something ......thanks

  • I still have no idea how he did the trick.

  • Why isn't he talking?He's so eloquent!

  • he has a sexy voice... I'm a man and I don't regret this comment lol

  • It's very interesting. He doesn't sound at all like what I thought he'd sound like...

  • wow, i didnt think his voice would sound like that

  • He even told me how he did it, but I still don't k ow how he did the glasses

  • Harpo began his unusual and rare public speech by saying, 'unaccustomed as I am to speaking' which got him a huge laugh. I can't help but like Penn and Teller despite that little bump in the road some years ago when they did that TV show, they got on my bad side just a bit, but no matter I guess one learns to filter out the stuff they don't like and relish the good things.

  • @scotty You're not a fan of the Bullshit series? I feel like there are some things I can't fully agree on, but I think they often have a good point. They are trying to make people think for themselves.

  • This proves to me how good of a performer Teller is. I really thought his voice would be incredibly wimpy and very high and squeky.

  • Hearing how it's done only makes it more remarkable for me! Cool stuff!

  • My wife and I spent an evening with Teller about 10 years ago and found him to be a completely charming man.

  • I don't believe. It's an illusion, he can't speak

  • Shit like this makes me want to get into magic ^_^

I just don't know if I've got the time, effort and patience to get to a high enough level

  • Teller is so unbelievably intelligent. There's a reason that he's gotten to where he is now... he's perfected the art. I genuinely idolize him as a magician and as a person. He's so slick... He makes all of his tricks look effortless.

    Woah.

Might I say as well, I laughed so hard when someone shouted "He's Talking!!!" At 1:02. It really does come as a shock to some people. That's a great sign about how much of an impression Teller makes.

  • his voice is beautiful :3

  • I kind of want to watch this... but I'm paused at 0:14 not wanting to spoil the illusion of Teller's voice... XD

  • he's actually not speaking... he's miming and someone else is talking (i can't accept that teller speaks)

  • Teller is fantastic silent and speaking!

  • How did he do that!!!!

  • He sounds so lovely, really nice sounding voice

  • For all those who couldn't believe that Teller actually talks outside of performance & find difficulty believing this is what he sounds like......... Please accept him for who he is, not who you want him to be, & in light of any disappointment you might have felt at him not being what you expected, try to embrace the beautiful truth in what he actually has to say, & that now you finally know he can. That is all :o)

  • TELLER IS GOD!!!!!!!!!!

  • hes a genius. done deal.

  • Teller is always fantastic.

On a side note, did they attach a mic to that cup?

  • much softer voice than I thought he'd have

  • I always thought Teller would speak in ebonics

  • The Simpsons curse

  • Teller is beast.

  • @floydfreak63 A sexy beast?

  • he sounds exactly like he looks like he would!

  • "It does no harm to the romance of the sunset to know a little bit about it. "

    - Carl Sagan

Knowing how magic tricks are done doesn't ruin it for me. I still enjoy them.

  • @derekxnl Well said, we suspend disbelief when watching films, why not magic. Knowing how it's done and watching the magician perform it perfectly is also enjoyable.

  • He has a very nice voice!

  • where can i see that entire conference? Is it on dvd or something? Because i really enjoyed Teller's Lecture and i want to hear and see the rest of the panel.

  • NOO DONT DESTROY THE MITH

  • Teller is amazing at what he does, and he has a nice voice TOO! Yay!

  • @SillySod75 I thought that to LOL seriously I did

  • I've spoiled myself. D: I shouldn't have searched this out.

  • Teller is truly amazing at what he does. We need more videos of him doing his thang. Penn andTteller are fantastic together but Teller by himself is a whole other thing.

  • Aww I always thought teller had a Gilbert godfreid type of voice :(

  • i dont know why but i have a crush on him......lol

  • I'll never watch Bullshit the same way haha

  • its this the real ellusionsist

  • I never thought I'd be so excited over seeing a grown man with no vocal impairment whatsoever talking

  • @TheWilbz

Hahahahaha! Yeah, it seems a little odd when you put it that way, but I nearly clapped when he spoke.

  • i was a little disappointed to finally hear him talk, but what he says is very true. He is smart, his voice is more relaxing than Penn's, and in my opinion he is a better magician

  • I wish there was more because its a great rare insight

  • Nice...

  • he is amazing, wow!

  • Wow, he sounds exactly as I imagined he would. I do agree with @allstar2719.... a British accent would definitely suit him.

  • @94spexx: when P&T show tricks, they try to show them as complex and fancy as possible.

  • MY MIND CANNOT HANDLE THIS.

  • i really regret watching this, i dont know why

  • Now I know why he never talks...he's so nervous!

  • Wait, so you're telling me his being quiet all the time is just an act ?

  • @derman077 you didn't know that?

  • @derman077 Yeah, it's part of the act. It contrasts Penn as being loud and somewhat obnoxious to Teller being more shy.

  • @derman077 Yup. He talks a lot in interviews and conferences. But on stage his character is silent.

  • Cool, he can talk.

  • banana

  • @hangloosemagic pear

  • wow

  • ya know if you used the right kind of s.o.h. you could really do that trick with just two coins.

  • @94spexx First of all why abrivate sleight of hand ? second no you could do that trick with just 2 coins which is what tellers point was.Tto do the mysters dream or any repatishas effect like that you need to variy your methods. read the basic of manpulation by lavent :-)

  • his voice sounds like ernie from sesame street^^ teller's awesome/epic dude

  • his voice sounds like ernie from sesamee street^^ tellers epic dude.

  • D: he can speak!!

  • Wow, he just blew my mind. Thanks for uploading this, Ellusionist.

  • 8-O teller actually talked! Awsome advice!!!

  • WOW!! That's his voice.

  • His voice is just like I thought it was! Yes! >:D

  • HIS VOICE IS NOTHING LIKE I IMAGINED.

  • Teller... ROCKS!

  • He wasn't really talking, it was just an elaborate illusion. He's a magician after all.

  • Teller talks!?!?!?!?

  • @wontanga I honestly don't think you have the right or have the option of an opinion against Teller, obviously your confused on what he's actually doing here and explaining to ppl.

  • Singularly brilliant walk through perception and rote learning. I want this chap at my next music education workshop!

    Cheers from Rochester!

    MP

  • who taught teller slight of hand i ' dyin to know..

  • The human mind is rigged to recognise patterns. And once it catches one, it has a hard time letting it go. There's been a water-stain on my ceiling for years, and, one day, I realised that it looked like a face. Ever since, I cannot look at that water-stain without seeing that face. My mind recognised a pattern, and now it won't let go of it.

  • He has the voice of a wizard hehe

  • I never thought I would see or hear the day that Teller talked . when I watched the special were they show his house and he still didn't say anthing I was woundering how does he call if his toilet is clog or has to pay a credit card bill and there is misstake on it

  • @HarPlayer He probably sends Penn a text message. :)

  • Wow, the mike...

  • I wanted him to sound like a sexy nerd but he's like a latin professor. Next time!

  • @jenna1981 He is a literature professor. Or something.

  • His Voice is Soooo SEXY !

  • i thought he was deaf

  • His voice actually sounds exactly like I thought it would :)

  • He has a really nice voice, mellow.

  • What has been heard, can not be unheard...

  • Once again Teller exposes magic, showing distain for the people and art that made him a wealthy man.

Shame on you Teller. Shame on you.

  • @wontonga I hope you are jesting, Teller didn't expose any magic that the audience didn't already know (concealing coins with his left hand, sleighting with his right) since this is a conference for magic enthusiasts. Teller is just giving enthusiasts and amateur magicians tips on becoming better showmans, which in this case, he taught the audience how alternating methods can provide a better framework for deceiving an audience that is capable of catching on to repetition.

  • @wontonga You can't have more magicians if they aren't exposed to how magic works.

  • @wontonga at at the same time, encourages young minds to get into a dying art. His clear stand against elitism within an artform if refreshing. he's showing people that, basically, you don't have to stop believing in santa and the easter bunny....you can become them. and make someone ELSE happy by doing so. so, he's selfless.... shame on you!

  • Genius.

  • damn he sounds well damn so weird

  • Aalaa... Zabardastly Awesome :)

  • i imagined him sounding british

  • This guy talks too much.

  • @RationalTruth Too much? Tellers merely trying to get everyone on the same page as him, by repetition. Which is he breaks down the many things he brings up multiple time.

  • @RationalTruth hes silent more than he talks

  • A great Russian-Jewish voice.

  • For some reason his voice reminds me of a deep-voiced Snagglepus xD

  • hey,EllusionistVideos,I am A beginer at Magic do you have any tips for Me

  • @doubletrouble467 Perform as much as you can :-)

  • @EllusionistVideos sorry i voted down the wrong comment

  • @doubletrouble467 And practice 50 times more, or more, than you perform.

  • @doubletrouble467 actually, don't go for ellusionist, sorry abaout htat. but a lot of everything they have there is for wxperienced magicians, if you are not buying brad christian, he's the beginner's guy. buy what he has, learn it, perform it ;D

  • Smart guy!!!

  • is that James Rani in the background, the guy with the white beard?

  • @themindfuck most likely

  • What a clever guy. I wish I could be like him when I grow up!

  • @ephemeralprotagonist you can kid, as he would tell you.

  • Where was this? Was it at MAGIC?

  • fuckin weird to see this guy talk

  • When he walked off at the end I was expecting him to be sneaking away the entire podium.

"What! how did he pull that off? Fucker!"

  • I like him. He seems like an alright man.

  • He is genius!

  • Wow his voice sounds so much different than I thought...

  • Man, he is really good, even as he is explaining how he is doing the trick it still seems like magic. I mean I am still confused as to how he makes the clinking sound every time even if he isn't really dropping a coin into the bucket.

  • I paused this video at 0:56 and decided not to watch it. It would ruin the mystery thing Teller has going on.

  • i am waiting for a final trick, it coud've made the whole point of his talk

  • He couldn't be more normal...

  • Amazing!!!!

  • Teller is damn smart.

  • @Havik385 Good magicians always are.

  • What the...? I actually learned something on YouTube.

  • That happens to me rather often.

  • @DillingerSatchel maybe you should end your subscription to fred??

  • next to houdini, P&T are the best. Long live Penn and Teller!

  • i sounds german or somthing:S:/

  • Something is wrong with this video, i just cant tell

  • they are, in my opinion, the best magic team ever. they do it, well, i dont need to explain. you all get it.

  • love this guy

  • wow i always imagined his voice to be really really high. not like... normal

  • At the start you here someone say "he's talking" lol

  • go teller :)

  • It's like hearing Jesus speak!!! lol

  • Pretty cool. I've respected these guys for a long long time. Penn gets on my nerves sometimes, but yeah, they are both incredible at what they can do.

  • Yeah, I think he's a little mouthy sometimes. Needs to keep his opinions to himself.

  • @d33f4wl7 Thats the whole point. Penn is such a great salesman that you completly forget to pay attention to whats going on around the big loudmouth guy that gets on your nerves.

  • @d33f4wl7 Thats the whole point. Penn is such a great salesman that you completly forget to pay attention to whats going on around the big loudmouth guy that gets on your nerves.

  • What a frickin' genius...

  • mind blowing is right.... this man is truly amazing... much respect.. i still want to know how he does the bullet catch however.

  • @Scylla1777 with the bullet catch, they usually use a gun that you have to load the old fashion way (you know with the rod that packs the powder and shit down). The rod is magnetized, and when hes done "packing" it all down, when he takes the rod out, he secretly palms the bullet. Being an expert at slight of hand, he puts the bullet in his mouth. when the gun is fired, its only firing the powder. he then reacts as if the bullet was actually shot, then TA DA, he "caught" it.

  • Not the voice I would expect coming from him... but really I wish that he would speak more because he comes off as alot more intelligent than Penn...

  • He has a much higher voice than I thought he would.

  • Penn & Teller fucking rocks! Randi as well, just as much! \o/

  • Minblowing

  • irony at it's best.. he talks the mike is not working too funny.

  • I think I've got a better name for him.

    Speaker!

  • oh boyyyy.... I can die now!

  • EL MEJOR :D i absolutely love him!!

  • brilliant.

  • I LOVE TELLER'S VOICE!

  • Teller and Randi in the same room, and Teller speaking...my geek self just had an orgasm.

  • I had a genuine orgasm

  • @AtenRa great comment, lol

  • reminds me of Carl Sagan's way of talking

  • He talked! :D

... It's WEIRD! He's not supposed to do that! XD

  • Awesome, i have been waiting ofr years to hear his voice. I taught it would be a bit more squeeky. Go Teller :D

  • I like that one woman.

    "Is the microphone on?"

    "Oh! You're TALKING!"

  • he sounds like how he looks....?

  • that was pretty awesome

  • :O HES NORMAL ! HAX!

  • he's dropping the ball on purpose. I love Teller! It's strange to hear him talk though...

  • It's so cool to hear him talking again!

I met him a couple years ago and it was really crazy to actually talk TO him. =D

    He's so nice. ^_^

  • HAHA! He's doing the Misers Dream! LOL

  • Wow, not only very insightful, but it's the first time I have ever heard the 'silent partner' of Penn & Teller speak. Some things are definitely worth waiting for.

Thanks so very much for uploading this video.
