i love these guys and i wish that they would last forever but soon enough there shall be a new demon and starchild!!!!!!!!!! GO NICK SIMMONS AND EVAN STANLEY!!!!!
Anyone who has a problem with this KISS (Paul, Gene, Tommy, Eric), was never really a KISS fan obviously....and missed the point. Whoosh!!!! It went way over their head. This is coming from an original member of the KISS ARMY. I have been through every era of KISS, and this is one of the best....and it's only gonna get better.
FYI....KISS will remain long after Gene and Paul hang it up. There will be a new Demon and new Starchild.....and they too will rock!
@ClassicRockfan79 no thats not really what i was trying to say. I was pissed that people were bashing eric and tommy. i regret this post so much. to be completely honest, i dont know where that whole original member of the kiss army came from. im 12. I am just pissed at the people who were around for the original lineup that hate tommy and eric. I was kinda directing this toward them. i am not trying to be a phony, im just pissed. And, gene and paul cant be replaced like i said before. Sorry!
@Bassmaster970 dont say sorry, heres the point lots of fans grew up back in the 70s they loved the original kiss, and to them seeing Tommy and Eric dressed up just like Ace and Peter is crazy wrong, to them it makes kiss look like 1/2 of a tribute band. and not so long ago gene had an idea, it was " Kiss idol". bands would dress like kiss, paul and gene would be the judge, the winner would tour as the all new kiss. paul hated the idea fought with gene about it but it still might happen.
@ClassicRockfan79 I understand that. It makes sence. But, when all the other non originals were in the band, it was still KISS to them. Now, that KISS idol thing, where did u hear about that? I'm glad that paul fought gene on it. then it would be a tribute band. Once all the originals are gone its done. with gene and paul its still KISS. I hope that KISS idol thing dont happen!
@Bassmaster970 i like gene and paul and they have worked so hard over the years. Ive seen the original kiss 4 times, ive met Ace and one thing i can tell is he never had the same way of thinking as gene. Ace wants to play, be happy and be at peace with himself. gene and paul are business men. so its best for Ace that he quit in the long run. But gene has some crazy ideas that go a little too far, ideas that even upset paul sometimes, and yes one day gene will kill kiss with those ideas.
@ClassicRockfan79 exactly. Ace just loves to play. Gene still enjoys it, but the marketing has to stop! Ots too much. But, they are still the best band ever! and thatwont change!
@Bassmaster970 about kiss idol i ran across videos on youtube about 1 year ago, and in the video gene himself talked about his kiss idol idea. he said paul and himself would have managment control, but they would let winners take their place, pauls reply was as long as he had some control in kiss, it would not happen..if i find those videos i ll let you know, but they should still be on here. but if kiss gose on without gene and paul, then Nick Simmons and Evan Stanley should take their place.
@ClassicRockfan79 Now, if Nick Simmons, and Even Stanley Took over, it still wont fly. I dont know how that would go. My view is, with out at LEAST two originals, its over. I would like to see the video though.
What has "being a real Kiss fan " to do , with how anyone sees an album? I think personally Sonic Boom is a waste of time. 2- 3 songs that are worth listening to. But the sound is absolutely retro. Gene Simmons songs (as always) are a disgrace.
@sharky1304 I bet you're either one of those banana smoochers who listen to Justn Beaber while whistling into a skin flute or your stil stuck in the 80's while staring at a Crazy Nigts poster while listing to Hot nThe Shades! Gene was MORE of a disgrace during the 80's hair band, era! Sonic Boom, kicks ass!!!
How come, at 0:06 for example, Gene's jack is plugged into the front of his bass where his tone knob is supposed to be?? If you look at photos of The Punisher on Google Images, the jack input is on the underside of the body. What's going on??
@robcicca The Punisher has gone thoguh so many revisions over it's 20 year history. B.C. Rich first mass-produced it, then Gene took over. Each one is supposed to be hand made, so style variations are probably not that uncommon.
This is an awesome album, but I have just three minor complaints. The first is the drum sound. It sounds so bland and is just buried in the mix. Eric Singer is a great drummer and deserves to be further up in the album's sound. The second is Tommy. He too, is a great musician and I don't think at all that he should feel like he has to copy Ace's style. As a new musician in the band, he has the potential to bring a new sound to the band's musicality. Third, is the cover. Are you kidding me?
@SonicThunderBYG The cover was amazing. Everything you could expect from an update of the Rock And Roll Over era. Michael Doret is a genius. As for the drum mix, I'm not sure it as bad as you think it is, but that's a matter of taste. But I do 100% agree that it seemd as though Tommy was told to play every lick Ace ever came up with on Sonic Boom. In testing the waters, I can see why he was likely directed to do that, but hopefully on the new album he's got some wiggle room to be himself.
@deuce1231 No. Look at the Powerslave album cover. THAT is amazing. Check out the Love Gun cover. That's a work of art, as is the Destroyer album cover and the cover for Rock And Roll Over. I don't care if Michael Doret is a genius. I don't care if he painted the Sistine Chapel. That cover is awful. When he made it, either Gene or Paul (Paul, because of his artistic background) should have looked at the cover and gone, "Come on, man." Instead, they probably said, "Alright. Good enough."
the new album was a step in the right direction, p.c. was a disaster, they are getting the concept of new songs back into a yearly thing, kiss will recording a new album this march, they should be ablle to top this album, but the song is here, the energy is there, KEEP IT GOING GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@HordeFTL no, in fact I hate Kiss and I rate them as the most overrated band but despite my personal taste this song is really too similar to the whitesnake one...but Kiss is not the first band to copy them...as someone said before even Poison did it...
@nazzare79 Whitesnake? Meh..."Never Enough" is much more like "Nothing But A Good Time" by Poison, in which the main riff itself was a knock-off of "Deuce"...which Gene has admitted was inspirted by "Bitch" by the Rolling Stones. Another one for ya...Robbie Krieger's solo in "Five To One" was copped by Ace on "She" and that was knicked by Mike McCready on the outro solo of "Alive" by Pearl Jam. Rock and Roll is inherently incestuous. Big deal...
@deuce1231 - It's ripping the SLIDE IT IN riff exactly, from the Whitesnake album of the same name. (Look it up on YouTube.) You've done a good job of tracing Kreiger's solo through "She" to "Alive" - when I first put that thread together years ago, at first I thought I was imagining things.
@PoffyTheCucumber In my view, the similarity is more pronounced in comparison to Poison than to Whitesnake. I hear a little bit of it but not nearly enough to make my ears perk up over it.
I personally like this & the track "Danger Us" better than "Modern Day Delilah" Either of those would have made a better single to me. Sonic Boom is a decent album that I like that each member has at least one track. I like Eric's voice & song, & while my favourite member has always been Ace Frehley the Tommy track is good musically, but not a huge fan of the song lyrics as I think some of them a bit cheesy.
@ilovepaulstanley2 That part isn't nearly as cringe worty as his voice cracking just before the guitar solo in Modern Day Delilah or even worse the verse coming out of the guitar solo. I was just shudderign as I listened to it again. It is for that reason alone I thought "Never Enough" should have been the single
wow, this was and still is my favourite song on Sonic Boom and all I can say is well done! thank you for doing it too since there is no actual video for the song, again, great job!

@TheWarshire Psycho Circus was a product of KISS playing '90s music. It was far from a disaster. It just wasn't '70s or '80s KISS.
