  • I remember as a teenager driving there from the Bronx over the GW Bridge and seeing Cousin Brucie introduce Neil Sedaka...there are condo's now where Palisades was...... "those were the days"

  • At 3:32, The Age Of Reason performs their set on a cool April afternoon in 1967.

That's Clay Cole and Hal Jackson to the left. That's Alan Turner (lead singer)

Phil Marden (Bass Guitar) Sid Sheres (Lead Guitar) Me on drums (Larry Russell) and Kenny Dale (Electric Guitar)

  • still on the radio, on Sirius.... 1950's..

  • I remember listening to Cousin Brucie, Scott Muni, Bobaloo and the other DJ's at WABC when I was at college in North Carolina. Right out of the news break, you would hear ... "WABC Hitline .... SEVEN !" (echoed over and over), for the #7 most popular song on the station for that week. GREAT STUFF !!!

  • There was no wilder feeling than being drunk and riding that roller coaster.

  • Listened to him then...listen to him now...

  • Everybody's First Cousin.

  • used to love to listen Cousin Brucie back in 1966 I was stationed in New London in the CG. They were what you call the good old days. Then I got stationed in NC so no more Cosin Brucie.

  • I listened to his 20 Top countdown every Tuesday night at 10.On Mar.31,1964,after Bruce's show, they started playing HOA'S 6AM music instead of Bob Lewis' midnight intro. Then,Bobaloo came on and said:"April Fool".

  • This song was written by Chuck Barris of the Gong Show fame (1970s)

  • I grew up in North Bergen so PalPark and WABC was a way of life, like being a Yankee fan, there was just no choice, it's how you were raised.

P.S. Gotta take issue with the Oswald thing though, I think he was involved, but I think the mafia killed JFK. Ah well, he's in heaven now, God bless him.

  • Thanks for Bringing back the good old memories of the finer days!! I love the 60's especially Cousin Brucie!!

  • This radio show originally aired Dec 5th 1963. Sadly, we lost our President John F. Kennedy Nov 22nd, less then 2 weeks earlier to an assassin, "Lee Harvy Oswald".

  • @TheBacmaster I recall the show and sadly recall the day we lost our beloved JFK :(((

  • Love IT !!! Classic Top 40 AM Radio !!! WE had 1050 CHUM up in Toronto and the DJs all had nick names like Jungle Jay Nelson. Now I know where Palisades Park

    is !!! :-))) Great Video Joe !!! 1,000*s

  • This Is Wonderful to watch!!!! The Park reminds me of the "Forest Park Highlands" here In Missouri...Ahh the memories..Sure do miss those days!!!....Thankyou Joe...Anita..:)

  • Hey Joe- so cool to see all of those great old photos, and hear the sounds of summer. That must have been some park!!

  • Cool...Our counterpart was Dick Biondi @ WLS, Chicago. Started listening to him when I was 10 and he's still on the air! They just dedicated a downtown street for him a couple weeks ago for his 50th anniversary on Chicago radio. Our amusement park was Riverview (1904-1967).

  • @bze2nlz4 I listened to WLS starting in 1963 and ending in the early 70s. It was they heyday of AM radio.. Didn't know they named a street for Dick Biondi-I'm glad they did!

  • thanks joe..i remember cousin brucie!! great buddy!!
