@jdizzleeminem1 THIS is a public forum. Where you post a videos* <- correct spelling and the world will judge you. I have been breeding snakes in a facility in FL for almost 10 years. we have much different enclosures for our Snakes. Video is titled ball python care and its not adequate for a ball. @jdizzleeminem1 i just got bored and started watching random videos. I don't know why your going to bat for this kid. He keeps his snakes inadequately. He has a video on a public forum trying to teach people how to care for them... alright there could have been a better way to address my problems with this video but this is why we get sick and abandoned snakes in FL. people aren't prepared and this.. isn't helping
@celixo Ralp Davis, BHB and Prehistoric pets just to name a few, all use setups similar to these and they are experts in their trade. There is no exact way to take care of these animals, its all down to personal preference for both the owner, I have my royals in appropriately sized tubs and they are way more active than when they where in open light enclosures, but as I said its personal preference, so don't go hating.
some of the bins you are keeping them in are way to small, like the first snake, the first snakes cage was the most FUCKING CRUEL SMALL CHEAP CAGE EVER.first off you were using bins instead of real enclosures (glass, wooden),they are ok but real enclosures are better, second you had a (what looked like) cat or dog water/food bowl...... go out and stop being so cheap, third you used paper towel instead of aspen or other natural substrates, every single thing about you cage was wrong you FUCKING SHIT.
For my birthday I got 2 presents. A hockey goal/ stick and a ball python. I sold my hockey stuff so I could buy stuff for my snake. He is one of the happiest and active snakes I hav ever seen. Show some respect to the animal.
@jeffevens13 or @Somebody: Can your Ball Pythons live in that kind of enclosure their whole entire lives especially males or like an tank made for reptiles because I have my baby ball python in this hospital tank, don't know what size gallon it is, but he has two hides (cardboard), small water dish, two rocks and some branches in their and some space to slither and aspen as bedding, so when he gets fully grown can he live their his entire life or what or how long should it be? thanks

hey jeff,i got a qwestoin,my pinstripe ball python is realy agressive and like to bite any thing and everything tht comes in his path, you got any ideas on how maybe i can calm him down? thanks , mike
i dont see how having plastic bins, stacked on top of one another is a good way to keep snakes? they dont get any light, no room to move, nothing to climb on this is a terrible way to keep a snake. When you have an exotic animal a good thing to try and do is to replicate an environment that they would in the wild....what you're doing is not even close
@FuNGuRl102 Yeah once I saw the proportions of likes and dislikes I knew that the information in this video is not the best. When about have the ratings are dislikes it means you should avoid information in this video. A juvenile ball python will be happy in a 20 gallon tank. Adults can be moved up to a 30 gallon tank if they are large in size. Males do not get that big so a 20 gallon tank will probably be good for them. Females get bigger so a 30 g. for an adult female.
I plan on keeping mainly Leopard geckos, but I also want a Hognose and maybe one of these guys. Im still doing research and I am suprised how small the caging can be relative to the animals size. Helped alot thanks!
How do you keep the humidity up in those containers? you make it look hecka easy. What about basking like? I'm just wondering, Cause I want one. Do they live in those only? how do you know if there stressed?
@MsDragonflyable these plastic containers are actually great for humidity. i only put a couple small holes on one side of the tub so most of the moisture is kept in. the dont need a basking light like a lizard since they are nocturnal, they dont bask out in the sun anyway. i just keep the whole room at 86 degrees which is perfect for them, but an underbelly heat pad or heat tape works great if you dont want your bedroom at 86 degrees all the time! lol
i like your snakes and all don't get me wrong, but you need bigger cages for them, they barley have any room to move around in, oh and just so oyu know, i love you burmese python, she is beautiful. :)
@mybandit90 just a normal. I have a local petshop but I dnt realy know where they get their bps and how good they take care of them. They look aight but id rather get a bp from a reliable source.
and for the one who said bps need uva/uvb dont listen to petshops when they sling their sells gimmicks bps DO NOT NEED uva/uvb they are NOCTURNAL not diurnal they only roam at night they hide during light hours so uvb/uva wont get to them if they hide people please do research before you try and go off on someone and look dumb!! thats all
WOW! i just read some of the comments on this video???really???so many people on here just showed their ignorance to this species of snake i personally liked this video ive personally tried glass, wood enclosers for my bp and had problems with feeding and attitude and such but had absolutely no problems with the plastic totes hey haters go check out some top end breeders like brian grundy garrick from the crested gecko and phrehistoric pets tell me how they cage their snakes
I like your set ups and you seem to no what your doing as well! I just got a 18 month old male royal python but I can't get him to eat could you help please?.

Wow i feel bad for all thos snakes they are all stacked on top of each other ( NO HEAT) no hot side and cold side no where to shed and no water!! and no duh they're not eating no hid a dam mickie Ds cup are you shiting me wow you must be a poor gay porn star wow gay people these days need more money!!
@herpingwithmarc no they dont.... as long as you have the correct temperatures it doesnt matter how or what you use to get them. im pretty sure they dont have heat pads in the wild. lol and also these animals are nocturnal so it would be very rare to find one just sitting out in the open basking on a hot rock or something of that sort. if they did that they would have gone extinct by now cause their preditors would have pick them all off.
@herpingwithmarc no, they would have ambient temperature. like i said these snakes hide all day and come out at knight. your not gonna a wild ball python just sitting out on a rock, these snakes hide and wait for food to come by. yes maybe if its cold you might find one out on a warm street or something, but thats only because it wasnt warm enough were it was. ive been keeping these snakes for going on 5 years now with only ambient temperatures and they are doing fine and even breeding!
@jeffevens13 i've been studying snakes my entire life... (a little over five years jk hahah) even if they are hiding in a cave or under something the suns heat will still get into it. also, your snakes look really angery as soon as you take the cover off, ball pythons are supposed to be docile....
@herpingwithmarc they live in rodent burrows. what provides the "belly heat" in the burrows? personally i agree that the snake should have a gradient. not "belly heat" as such but it should have a warm side of it's enclosure and a cooler side, ranging from about 29c on one side to about 32c on the other. but it's got nothing to do with them being heated from underneath, that's just so that they can thermoregulate. but if the ambient temperature is fine then they'll be fine.
@herpingwithmarc i'll say it again.. when they are living in their burrows (which they often do for weeks at a time) where do you think they gets their "belly heat" from?
@herpingwithmarc yes.. well done. the sun keeps it at the temperature it needs to be at. no one is disputing that. you were saying it needs an under belly heater. they don't. my python has no underneath heat either, although my setup is much better than this guys since mine has a temperature gradient.
@herpingwithmarc EXACTLY! it heats up the ground creating an ambient temperature in whatever hole they are hiding in! not just a warm pad to lay on! lol
@jeffevens13 you don't get it? it's laying on the ground... the ground is being warmed, yes creating ambient temperatures, but also warming it's belly
@herpingwithmarc haha how does that make sense if the snake is hiding under ground? it would be warming the ground above it... there for creating an ambient temperature, not belly heat.
ps calm the fuck down man, is it not possible to have a calm discussion about differing opinions?
@jeffevens13 i am worried about these snakes! and no i can't calm down every time i see somthing like this i'd like to report them. also, THE SUNS HEAT PENETRATES THE GROUND AND WARMS THE GROUND AROUND THE SNAKE, THEREFORE ALSO WARMING IT'S BELLY. ALSO WHEN IT GOES OUT IN SEARCH OF FOOD THE GROUND IS STILL NICE AND WARM FOR THE SNAKE.
P.S."Profanity is the result of a weak mind trying to express itself forcably"
hi i cant decide between ball python and kenyan sand boas. the thing is kenyan sand boas are so fun and interesting and easy to care for but they dont look as cool as ball pythons and are kinda small i want a 3 to four feet snake and im an intermediate snake keeper. ball pythons look so cool and are pretty decent size but look so boring...please help me out.
ps i also want sand boas because all you really need in their cage is sand(substrate) a water bottle and a heat source really plz reply
maybe you should listen to everything everyones telling you. you're obviously caring for your snakes wrong. there's a reason why everyones "hatin". we're just trying to help you.
@modelmadness9 how am i obviously caring for them wrong? because im not listening to a bunch of 12 year olds who most likely dont know crap about reptile husbandry? haha sorry but i think id rather go with the research(not to mention trial and error) ive done over the past 9 years now! look at how the experts keep their animals, theres not much difference in how i keep mine! and im not talking about the zoo! zoo's keep their animals in big decorated cages for US PEOPLE not the animals!
@modelmadness9 ps if you have ever bin behind the scene of a zoo, most of them keep their snakes just like i do! the ones the public see are decorated for our entertainment, not the animals! anyone who has tried keeping snakes both ways knows the snake doesnt give a crap what its cage looks like as long as it feels secure, it has correct temperatures, correct humidity, and it has food.
btw at the moment i have 2 females that are gravid, that wouldnt happen if they were not happy! haha
@modelmadness9 HAHAHAHAHA the papers not natural!?!? i never said it was! sometimes things are better than natural! snakes get sick and die in the wild and thats completely natural, that doesnt mean i want that happening to my snakes! and like i said plants and gravel and all that are for human entertainment, ive kept snakes both ways and they dont act any different with plants and eco earth(not gravel thats a terrible idea!) ps do your research before you make yourself look stupid next time.
that first ball python you showed has NO room to move, appears theres not even any water in her bowl and there nothing in there for her to hide under? this is like putting yourself in your closet or bathroom and being trapped in there, barely any room to move. this is sad. i feel bad for your snakes, dude.
@modelmadness9 I totally agree! Get a real cage, get some bedding, keep it clean, get a clean water bowl, get a proper hide, not a fucking mcdonalds cup, get some heat up in there! those snakes need to be in AT LEAST a 30 or 40 gallon terrarium, 50 would be perfect.
@modelmadness9 Snakes don't do much, all they do is hide, in fact, they love hiding. Similar to a scorpion, they prefer tight small places where they can just chill and feel secure.
dude you're kidding me right. you're torturing your poor snakes. you're squeezing them into wayyy too small of containers for their sizes. how r they getting their proper light/heat source through those things. they need much more room that these fucking small ass containers. r u poor as fuck or something? can u not afford a real home for your snake or something? if not, then why do you even have all them? give them to someone who can actually CARE for them properly, my God.
HOLLY SHIT!!!!! that McDonald's cup is huge how are you so-post to drink that and eat your meal... Americans... why is there so little coconut bedding???
they keep getting stressed out cause you got them in such shitty living conditions. i assume you sell snakes so ur just keeping them at the minimum of what it costs to you!
This is sad......... its like a puppy mill but with snakes! OMG........ you make me sick! Dont you know those are living beings and not just things you can treat like shit!
im just woundering how many breeds are there of ball pythons? i got a small 1 like the 1st snake u show in the video all i no is that isnt a ball python plus idk how to take it to the vet to find out its sex and i lighty strach its tail it lift its tail idk if it likes it or not but it does it every time i do that could you tell me if it could like that or not maybe even wha it does to it? im gonna get a video up of my ball python next month
So the tubs you use are just fine for them right?....i mean cuz critter cages and other cages are really expensive so i think im going to use a tub....are their heating issues with the tubs...cuz my house doesent really get that warm even in the day....and ik they need it warm
i think Jeff is dumb because you should treat a snake like a person and give them what they would naturally live in instead of a cheap plastic box that has no light or important light wave like uva or uvb so pretty much he is a dumb head
@zypli1 humans dont naturally live in houses with heaters and beds in them. are you saying it is better for us to be outside in the cold and not sleep in our comfortable beds? just because its not natural dosnt mean its bad, sometimes man made things are better than natural things. Tons of snakes get sick and die in their natural habitat. I dont want ANY snakes dieing in my collection, thats why i keep them better than they would be in the wild.
@jeffevens13 you treat your snake like shit you ass hole. a 40 gallon should be the minimum. they can barely even move in those. im moving mine from a 40 to a 60l x30h x24w just so it has more room. i hope you burn in hell
@jeffevens13 i personally dont believe in rack systems, but some say that some reptiles can do better in tubs. ive seen breeders and hobbiests who stick their reptiles in small 6 quart tubs with a water dish and no substrate, i just hate that. but if you have as many reptiles as you do i dont think glass tanks are a option.
@jeffevens13 what Zypli is trying to say is - The ( plastic Box with just a water bowl) isnt a good look, i would spend all my time and effort with my ball python and its setup, you have to concider puting a uv lamp, some sort of heat sorce, a natrual looking hide, good size water bowl, nice size vivarium with fake plants and natrual clensed logs and reptile substraight to catch the humidety and heat, and where is the thermastat to read how high or low the tempriture is?
@jeffevens13 what Zypli is trying to say is - The ( plastic Box with just a water bowl) isnt a good look, i would spend all my time and effort with my ball python and its setup, you have to concider puting a uv lamp, some sort of heat sorce, a natrual looking hide, good size water bowl, nice size vivarium with fake plants and natrual clensed logs and reptile substraight to catch the humidety and heat, and where is the thermastat to read how high or low the tempriture is? @zypli1 you have no idea what your talking about, ball pythons do not need a source of uvb.. also they do not care one bit about what their hiding area looks like. educate yourself on what your talking about before you say it.
@zypli1 Have you ever kept reptiles? Ball pythons are nocturnal animals, which means they only come out at night, so they don't need a UVB or UVA, and i'v kept ball pythons since i was 13 (now 24) and have never had any problems. Light sources are bad for ball pythons, i know, it effects their feeding and stresses them out, natural light is best. I agree with you on matching their natural habbitat as close as you can in captivity like i do, but they do better ins smaller spaces, its been proven.
@zypli1 plastic bins are one of the best housing for BP. B.P. are nocturnal and don't need a UVB light. B.P. also stress easily and go on food strikes where they won't eat for months. Having a glass aquarium can easily stress a B.P. because its very transparent . Ball pythons are known to have rough sheds, a plastic bin helps keep the humidity at a good level so the snake can shed. If Jeff was dumb he'd losing snakes left and right Apparently that's not the case.
@zypli1 Ball Python's are nocturnal and therefore do not need any uva/uvb light, but I still have mine in a glass tank with plants branches and rocks, and a water bowl to soak in and a hide!
Hi, can anyone tell me the price of a ball python? I am getting 1 some time in the future and just wanna have a rough idea of how expensive they can be - i love bumblebee types :)
Great video. It helped alot I'm looking into getting a ball python How big of a plastic tub will I need for a juvinile and how much would a regular morph Juvinile ball python cost
@wadejrshadow1234 hatchlings should be in 6qt tubs. then moved up to 12qt at 400grams. and so on up as they grow. And there are TONS of ball python morphs, idk what you mean by a regular morph though, if your wanting a normal ball python you can get them for free if you look hard enough. The cheapest morph is a pastel which is guna run you about $100.. And just to tell you the top notch balls sell for over $100,000...
hey dude im wondering if u can help me. Im a new bp owner and having trouble with humidity. Im using aspen right now n use a spray bottle n a towel over top to increase humidity. I cant get my levels to stay up past 40%. When i spray it goes up to about 70 and stays that way for a cpl hrs. Could coconut bedding help? ive heard it holds humidity better than aspen. I do provide a humid hide when hes in shed and havnt had any problems shedding but i was told if humidity is too low they can get sick
hey nü-Beatle, if you wanna keep some expensive morphs, you should invest in some decent cages as well. oh i forgot you don't give a crap about snakes you just wanna act cool in front of your nü-beatle friends.
@ARSA525 a quart is a a measurement, usually used for liquids. 4 quarts is a gallon. 2 pints is 1 quart. You usually just measure liquids with a quart. like a 12quart tub can hold 12 quarts .12qt. tub is equal to a 3 gallons. But you won't ever find a tub saying 3 gallons. They will probably say 12qts. That might just be in the U.S. though....Does that answer your question??
hey can anyone tell me if my ball python is ok? she har all these little white beaten up scales at the end of her body does not move aorund at all and has skin that over laps each other sort of like small wrinkles does anyone kno whats wrong with her or is she fine?
There's no efficient way to regulate heat in that small of a container. I get the impression that you probably sell snakes but that's still no way to treat them. Your video just made me kinda sad.
Seriously people? Why do you watch videos if your just going to hate on people? Get out much? I think this is a very efficient way, and if any of you have a ball python, guess what! @mybandit90 just a normal. I have a local petshop but I dnt realy know where they get their bps and how good they take care of them. They look aight but id rather get a bp from a reliable source.
Caliswaggger 7 months ago
and for the one who said bps need uva/uvb dont listen to petshops when they sling their sells gimmicks bps DO NOT NEED uva/uvb they are NOCTURNAL not diurnal they only roam at night they hide during light hours so uvb/uva wont get to them if they hide people please do research before you try and go off on someone and look dumb!! thats all
mybandit90 7 months ago
WOW! i just read some of the comments on this video???really???so many people on here just showed their ignorance to this species of snake i personally liked this video ive personally tried glass, wood enclosers for my bp and had problems with feeding and attitude and such but had absolutely no problems with the plastic totes hey haters go check out some top end breeders like brian grundy garrick from the crested gecko and phrehistoric pets tell me how they cage their snakes

SuperCarter97 8 months ago
Where the fuck are these snakes getting their heat from ?
FollowersofDamu 8 months ago
what are you heating them with!!!! they need basking and belly heat!!!
herpingwithmarc 8 months ago
@herpingwithmarc no they dont.... as long as you have the correct temperatures it doesnt matter how or what you use to get them. im pretty sure they dont have heat pads in the wild. lol and also these animals are nocturnal so it would be very rare to find one just sitting out in the open basking on a hot rock or something of that sort. if they did that they would have gone extinct by now cause their preditors would have pick them all off.
jeffevens13 8 months ago
@jeffevens13 of course they wouldn't have a heat pad in the wild, idiot. but they'd still have belly heat!!!
herpingwithmarc 8 months ago
@herpingwithmarc no, they would have ambient temperature. like i said these snakes hide all day and come out at knight. your not gonna a wild ball python just sitting out on a rock, these snakes hide and wait for food to come by. yes maybe if its cold you might find one out on a warm street or something, but thats only because it wasnt warm enough were it was. ive been keeping these snakes for going on 5 years now with only ambient temperatures and they are doing fine and even breeding!
jeffevens13 8 months ago
@jeffevens13 i've been studying snakes my entire life... (a little over five years jk hahah) even if they are hiding in a cave or under something the suns heat will still get into it. also, your snakes look really angery as soon as you take the cover off, ball pythons are supposed to be docile....
herpingwithmarc 8 months ago
@herpingwithmarc you don't know what you're talking about.
ScotchMonkey08 8 months ago
@ScotchMonkey08 how so? even if they only come out at night.... the suns heat will still be warming the ground....
herpingwithmarc 8 months ago
@herpingwithmarc they live in rodent burrows. what provides the "belly heat" in the burrows? personally i agree that the snake should have a gradient. not "belly heat" as such but it should have a warm side of it's enclosure and a cooler side, ranging from about 29c on one side to about 32c on the other. but it's got nothing to do with them being heated from underneath, that's just so that they can thermoregulate. but if the ambient temperature is fine then they'll be fine.
ScotchMonkey08 8 months ago
@ScotchMonkey08 yes they do need to thermo regulate... but do you seriously think they live in a hole their whole lives???
herpingwithmarc 8 months ago
@herpingwithmarc i'll say it again.. when they are living in their burrows (which they often do for weeks at a time) where do you think they gets their "belly heat" from?
ScotchMonkey08 8 months ago
@ScotchMonkey08 and i'll say it again as well... the suns energy can penetrate through the ground and warms up the animal...
herpingwithmarc 8 months ago
@herpingwithmarc yes.. well done. the sun keeps it at the temperature it needs to be at. no one is disputing that. you were saying it needs an under belly heater. they don't. my python has no underneath heat either, although my setup is much better than this guys since mine has a temperature gradient.
ScotchMonkey08 8 months ago
@herpingwithmarc EXACTLY! it heats up the ground creating an ambient temperature in whatever hole they are hiding in! not just a warm pad to lay on! lol
jeffevens13 8 months ago
@jeffevens13 you don't get it? it's laying on the ground... the ground is being warmed, yes creating ambient temperatures, but also warming it's belly
herpingwithmarc 8 months ago
@jeffevens13 yes it does create some ambient temperature, but it also warms the ground THE SNAKE IS LAYING ON!!!
herpingwithmarc 8 months ago
@herpingwithmarc haha how does that make sense if the snake is hiding under ground? it would be warming the ground above it... there for creating an ambient temperature, not belly heat.
ps calm the fuck down man, is it not possible to have a calm discussion about differing opinions?
jeffevens13 8 months ago
@jeffevens13 i am worried about these snakes! and no i can't calm down every time i see somthing like this i'd like to report them. also, THE SUNS HEAT PENETRATES THE GROUND AND WARMS THE GROUND AROUND THE SNAKE, THEREFORE ALSO WARMING IT'S BELLY. ALSO WHEN IT GOES OUT IN SEARCH OF FOOD THE GROUND IS STILL NICE AND WARM FOR THE SNAKE.

hi i cant decide between ball python and kenyan sand boas. the thing is kenyan sand boas are so fun and interesting and easy to care for but they dont look as cool as ball pythons and are kinda small i want a 3 to four feet snake and im an intermediate snake keeper. ball pythons look so cool and are pretty decent size but look so boring...please help me out.

modelmadness9 8 months ago
@modelmadness9 how am i obviously caring for them wrong? because im not listening to a bunch of 12 year olds who most likely dont know crap about reptile husbandry? haha sorry but i think id rather go with the research(not to mention trial and error) ive done over the past 9 years now! look at how the experts keep their animals, theres not much difference in how i keep mine! and im not talking about the zoo! zoo's keep their animals in big decorated cages for US PEOPLE not the animals!
jeffevens13 8 months ago
@jeffevens13 i agree with u they dont no shet ur pythons are fine ur ok
muskrattraper123 8 months ago
@modelmadness9 ps if you have ever bin behind the scene of a zoo, most of them keep their snakes just like i do! the ones the public see are decorated for our entertainment, not the animals! anyone who has tried keeping snakes both ways knows the snake doesnt give a crap what its cage looks like as long as it feels secure, it has correct temperatures, correct humidity, and it has food.
btw at the moment i have 2 females that are gravid, that wouldnt happen if they were not happy! haha
jeffevens13 8 months ago
that PAPER is nowhere near natural for them. they need gravel. maybe a plant? in a TANK? do them a favor.... this makes me sad.
modelmadness9 8 months ago
@modelmadness9 HAHAHAHAHA the papers not natural!?!? i never said it was! sometimes things are better than natural! snakes get sick and die in the wild and thats completely natural, that doesnt mean i want that happening to my snakes! and like i said plants and gravel and all that are for human entertainment, ive kept snakes both ways and they dont act any different with plants and eco earth(not gravel thats a terrible idea!) ps do your research before you make yourself look stupid next time.
jeffevens13 8 months ago
@jeffevens13 do yourself a favor and don't talk to anyone you don't know like that

BobSaget9165 7 months ago
@modelmadness9 I totally agree! Get a real cage, get some bedding, keep it clean, get a clean water bowl, get a proper hide, not a fucking mcdonalds cup, get some heat up in there! those snakes need to be in AT LEAST a 30 or 40 gallon terrarium, 50 would be perfect.
rainbowswaggabunny 6 months ago
@modelmadness9 Snakes don't do much, all they do is hide, in fact, they love hiding. Similar to a scorpion, they prefer tight small places where they can just chill and feel secure.
Dreamstate7711 4 months ago
dude you're kidding me right. you're torturing your poor snakes. you're squeezing them into wayyy too small of containers for their sizes. how r they getting their proper light/heat source through those things. they need much more room that these fucking small ass containers. r u poor as fuck or something? can u not afford a real home for your snake or something? if not, then why do you even have all them? give them to someone who can actually CARE for them properly, my God.

i think Jeff is dumb because you should treat a snake like a person and give them what they would naturally live in instead of a cheap plastic box that has no light or important light wave like uva or uvb so pretty much he is a dumb head
zypli1 11 months ago
@zypli1 humans dont naturally live in houses with heaters and beds in them. are you saying it is better for us to be outside in the cold and not sleep in our comfortable beds? just because its not natural dosnt mean its bad, sometimes man made things are better than natural things. Tons of snakes get sick and die in their natural habitat. I dont want ANY snakes dieing in my collection, thats why i keep them better than they would be in the wild.
jeffevens13 11 months ago 12
@jeffevens13 you treat your snake like shit you ass hole. a 40 gallon should be the minimum. they can barely even move in those. im moving mine from a 40 to a 60l x30h x24w just so it has more room. i hope you burn in hell
hypnotoad2882 10 months ago
@jeffevens13 i personally dont believe in rack systems, but some say that some reptiles can do better in tubs. ive seen breeders and hobbiests who stick their reptiles in small 6 quart tubs with a water dish and no substrate, i just hate that. but if you have as many reptiles as you do i dont think glass tanks are a option.
HERPTOLOGY44 9 months ago
@jeffevens13 what Zypli is trying to say is - The ( plastic Box with just a water bowl) isnt a good look, i would spend all my time and effort with my ball python and its setup, you have to concider puting a uv lamp, some sort of heat sorce, a natrual looking hide, good size water bowl, nice size vivarium with fake plants and natrual clensed logs and reptile substraight to catch the humidety and heat, and where is the thermastat to read how high or low the tempriture is?

mrswagerondeckk 7 months ago
@zypli1 you have no idea what your talking about, ball pythons do not need a source of uvb.. also they do not care one bit about what their hiding area looks like. educate yourself on what your talking about before you say it.
LeOpardGeckoKid9 10 months ago
@zypli1 Well hey man, some people are tight on money, so its best to use what we got. Natural is good, but expensive.
TheLionkidd 10 months ago
@zypli1 Have you ever kept reptiles? Ball pythons are nocturnal animals, which means they only come out at night, so they don't need a UVB or UVA, and i'v kept ball pythons since i was 13 (now 24) and have never had any problems. Light sources are bad for ball pythons, i know, it effects their feeding and stresses them out, natural light is best. I agree with you on matching their natural habbitat as close as you can in captivity like i do, but they do better ins smaller spaces, its been proven.
RagsUnderAmysBed 9 months ago
@zypli1 plastic bins are one of the best housing for BP. B.P. are nocturnal and don't need a UVB light. B.P. also stress easily and go on food strikes where they won't eat for months. Having a glass aquarium can easily stress a B.P. because its very transparent . Ball pythons are known to have rough sheds, a plastic bin helps keep the humidity at a good level so the snake can shed. If Jeff was dumb he'd losing snakes left and right Apparently that's not the case.
MmaNcovers 9 months ago
@zypli1 agreed
kpoppster 9 months ago
@zypli1 Ball Python's are nocturnal and therefore do not need any uva/uvb light, but I still have mine in a glass tank with plants branches and rocks, and a water bowl to soak in and a hide!

@rephibiankid Well leave the sarcasm away and tell me what's '' a quart''.
ARSA525 1 year ago
@ARSA525 a quart is a a measurement, usually used for liquids. 4 quarts is a gallon. 2 pints is 1 quart. You usually just measure liquids with a quart. like a 12quart tub can hold 12 quarts .12qt. tub is equal to a 3 gallons. But you won't ever find a tub saying 3 gallons. They will probably say 12qts. That might just be in the U.S. though....Does that answer your question??
rephibiankid 1 year ago
@rephibiankid Yes. That anwers my question. Thanks! :-)

There's no efficient way to regulate heat in that small of a container. I get the impression that you probably sell snakes but that's still no way to treat them. Your video just made me kinda sad.
