A local state-owned university has made an upgrade to their student ID's/shopping card. The new ID's contain a chip, having done away with the swipe strip. They say it will provide increased security for students and be easier to use at checkout. I believe it is more like a pilot program to test the technology and assist in the acceptance of it. Later, after people have accepted national ID's like this, the ploy will be to move them to implanted chips--even safer, right?

@davymatheny - Yes. The non-specific language leaves the door wide open for any ID device. Really, given how law and rule of law really is being proven time and again to be merely illusion, this item's inclusion in the bill is nothing more than a clue, a signaling of what will be brought forth under the pretext of health care.

Hi Stormy! 1st, reverse speech analysis of german politicians is harder than i thought... :-)

But one of my hobbys is building anagram-like-things: verichip = c viper i h = see viper-eye age= see the age of the viper-eye coming!! verichip = ivcipher = lucipher (google for "i like l", "v like u", or look at wikipedia; it's historical established...). And if u open photoshop and make a "negative" of the blue-white verichip logo, it clearly becomes a yellow snake eye wit a black slit pupil!!!
