Well said bszele ! There will be no other band like Solaris and there will be no other albums like Marsbeli Kronikak or Nostradamus Book of Prophecies. Nor were in the past. What an unique, complex, powerful and magical symphonic space prog !

I definitely prefer After Crying. Megalázottak és megszomorítottak is in my opinion the only modern prog album which can hold a candle to classics from the 70. However, I can't stand the whole neoprog genre, with its cutting of blues and jazz roots, lack of musical ideas hidden behind "mystic atmosphere" and lack of musicanship pretending to be "delicate sound of flute and guitar". For me, bands like Solaris, Porcupine Tree etc sound like parody of Pink Floyd and Genesis style.

Reminds me of my all original band with Steve Kiss - the drummer from an incredible and famous band from Hungary. He said the songs were on the radio and they were quite popular and famous until their amazing singer died (I think in an accident). Then the band broke up and Steve - the drummer - moved to the US and we started playing and recording the songs as INDEX. (Anyone know what Hungarian band he was talking about?)

unlike most bands, solaris is very original and very progressive. well, sounds a bit like genesis, but still, it´s better than most bands. say, where was this? was it not in the baja prog festival? dude I live in mexicali!!
