Actually, Subaru's symetrical AWD is a better balanced 4 wheel drive system than the Audi Quattro system. I have had 5 Subaru's of varying degree's of 'hotness' - all were fantastic for the money. But... Scoobies are not as sexy as Audi's. Group B was awesome in the flesh (nothing on the planet sounds as good as a Sport Quattro at full chat) and way better than what came after it. Grp B was F1 on dirt.... Check the video of Walter Rorhl driving the Sport Quattro... now THAT is rally driving.

But there were not Rally Racing cars with AWD before them, they pioneered it. and as the leone may have been awd, its not the awd they market today. where as audi, hasnt changed, only improved. jus like mazda got banned for the 787b, audi was "asked nicely" to resign because of their performances. and it wasnt only in rally. look at the IMSA GTO Audi90, Displayed in a segment of Secrets of Speed. And for quallity, the 01E will hold 600+ whp all day. Only weak links seem to be rear diff mounts and drive shafts. But both are fixable, and should be expected when more than trippleing factory out put.

They weren't even the first, The Jensen FF was the first commercial AWD car, and they made less than 10 of that specific model. There have been many awd cars in motor racing since the early 1900's.

yeah you shouldnt talk any more. audi was the first to develope their awd system which was for rally driving then was put into there production cars.

@damireagle subaru made AWD ....so idk what the hell your talking about. audi won like 4 times. and its actaully not the best. forester has the best drivetrain in the market right now. look in the west. that proves it right there. you see more subarus than audis....y? because mountains, snow, rocks, etc. think before you speak.

@damireagle not really, the Quattro didn't come out until 1980, Subaru had the Leone in 1972 with AWD. They weren't even the first, The Jensen FF was the first commercial AWD car, and they made less than 10 of that specific model. There have been many awd cars in motor racing since the early 1900's.

@damireagle That is absolutely NOT why they were "asked" to quit. No one was "asked" to quit, Group B was SHUT DOWN due to so many people dying. Everyone was using AWD at that point. Ever hear of the Lancia Delta Integrale? No, I didn't think you would have.
Who cares if quattro is the best, half the Audi's out of the factory are Haldex now anyway.
