This is simply fabulous, thank you for posting. I grew up in the Soviet Union and literally several blocks from my house was a movie theater that showed only Bollywood movies. My grandmother is still in love with Raj Kapoor :) This clip is magical and very genuine, even though I don't understand a single word of it

Raj Kapoor the actor is dead. Manna Dey the fantastic singer of this song is alive, but very old. I was still in school and had not become a regular singer or movie-goer. But made up fast later on. Unmatched romantic era of Hindi music.

Yes, his songs are legendary and his family is amazing...he had died 21 years ago (June 2, 1988)

Manna Dey, the male singer is alive as is the female voice which belongs to Lata Mangeshkar. Manna Dey is in his 80s. In fact all the songs from the film Chori Chori became all time hits and they all feature Manna Dey & Lata. Mannna Dey was as widely used as Mohammad Rafi, Mukesh and Kishore Kumar who were his contemporaries. The latter 3 are dead. My personal favourite was always Mohammad Rafi.

I must have been 7 or 8 whenI heard this song for the first time. Heard it few more during childhood. 40 years later listening to it brought back so many memories.
