@4iamu It was just to much I could not complete one task or one song without finding some new sound or patch or drum sound and making 8 songs instead of finishing the one I started on. For me it was to much in one unit!! OVER KILL
Man, you sold that awesome workstation! I just purchased a neko for my studio. I plan on using it to work with pc base recording software. I don't plan on using it as my main system because it only comes with 4ins/6outs presonus interface. I have to macs for that.. I just plan to integrate it into my current setup. I want to run fl studio, reaper, sonar, sound forge, and maybe acid. I will be installing windows 7 home 64bit on my neko for running pro tools 9.
@BMUSIK101 Man I loved that Neko it was just to much though. I would start on one song and end up with 12 different songs. I could not focus on just one thing. It was truly to much fun in one keyboard. You have basically 100 different sound for one sound that you wanted. To much!!!
@cgproduces why you sold it....they have video tutorials to teach you have to make a beat on it dawg!!!!!!!!! I am going to get me one big time bruh, fo real!!!!!!!!!!!
@HotBoyRob1105 Man I hated selling it but I could not concentrate on the Open Labs I would start one beat and end up with like 7 different songs. I could not establish a straight forward work flow on that machine. It really had to many options and sounds to concentrate. It was like letting a 8 year old free in a Toy Store with only two minutes grab whatever they wanted.
@cgproduces Man that's the neko does it gives you ways to produce music! The equipment you have right now I could come there and makes something so hot you be like wow! But with the neko you could record a whole band with it! Listen to people like Mr.Porter or Polow Da Don or timboland that makes with the neko or miko! You can do full production on the neko and miko! All u need studio monitors and studio mic or mics! God bless man holla back!
@HotBoyRob1105 You should purchase one man its truly amazing. My brain cannot seem to stay focused due to having so many sounds, so many different ways to make one beat. So I got super distracted not being able to complete one song but would start on 10-12 from one basic idea. If I knew how to use it better I would have kept mine.
@cgproduces Peace bro, didn't Open Labs belly up? The company don't exist anymore. Were you using Sylenth in your vid? It looks like it cause I have it and that's an amazing piece of software that sounds freakin like hardware.
@44danoc I think Open Labs is still in business. Great Machine just two much ammo for guns. I will buy another one when I slow down and have more time.
Hey, just wanted to let everyone know I've left Open Labs and started a new company called Music Computing. Check out the new gear at Music Computing or click the link below for videos. - Thanks, Victor Wong
@ShelleneHervieux Thats a really great questions I often repeat making a beat is so like cooking and baking. You know once you have the recipe of how much salt how much pepper to add. Its about have a great base to start with and adding little bits pieces to enhance the rest of your creation. Just like cooking!! You should ready and study basic song construction and musical theory and the rest will fall in place.
@cgproduces I am going to try and start pursuing music (my passion) you and many others helped influence me to want to do that. but I have a question I'am torn between two setups and was wondering if you cand help they are the roland g6 and mv-8800 or motif xf and mpc 5000 I would be able to swich out the mpc and mv . in you oppinion which would be better to start. btw I'm 15 . thanks for the inspiring videos and please keep them coming .
BTW I dig the freestyle beat.Only criticism is it sounds a little too much like some of your other stuff but that's not necessarily a bad thing. What you do is definitely very good music.Keep puttin' in the work.I will make sure to watch ur vids and comment.
When you lose the hunger, when you lose the humbleness, most of all when you lose that drive to produce music, that's when it's time to bow out gracefully.I read one of your responses saying you see some of the ppl on here and it makes you wanna step ur game up.Honestly I don't see alotta that on here but I understand what you mean.I look toward the guys like Premo,Dre,Teddy Riley,Quincy Jones,Dilla, even the more commercial cats like Neptunes and Scott Storch. They inspire me.Actually you do too !
@eleclifesndtrk LoL that's what I say when I look at some of these dudes on here! As long as you want to be better and you work at it you will be! Im taking lessons, self teaching and going back to school for musical theory and composition.
Yo man, when you learn that bad boy. You won't ever want to use the fantom or the mpc again. I know because i had a fantom and a mv 8000 and once i got the Neko tse i sold the fantom and the mv. i did keep my motif though. Keep bangin man
@bigdee19144 Wow that's a huge sacriface to give up the G8 Fully! I know I can clone the sounds into the Open Labs using Mimic so I guess it just takes time to learn the Neko.
I'm an accountant and I still can't afford one of those bad boys! But honestly, that's all you need bro!! That mimik is crazy PLUS the computer specs of that thing will handle any and every plug-in you throw at it with ease!!! I'm looking forward to some more vids!! Btw, dope beat as usual!! Oh, what type of bike do you have? I had a yamaha yzf600 but I sold it!!
See you got a new keyboard. That must be the Open Labs LX5.Never heard of them, are they a new keyboard company ? Diggin' the new track.Like I have said before you a have gr8 sense of melody.
@dubbsway4life Yeap had to step up my game I saw some other keyboardist bitting my MPC and G8 or Motif set up so I have to hit them with the big dog Open Labs. I don't even know how to use it yet is the sad part.
@SYNDOTMUSIC Hey the company VST is having a great deal on MPC 5000. They gave me a sweet deal and they upgraded my memory and installed the disc drive on mine. Fully loaded out and it was a deal shipped you might want to hit them up they are really good. Even threw in some pretty nice drum kits
Why did you get rid of the Open Labs?
