  • Parade of a very high standard.

  • How come we don't see those policemen wearing those green uniforms on the street no more? They now wear blue ones during the summer.

  • @tickle2012

this is correctional service department (prison department), still wearing old uniform as before 1997.

hk police have been changed to the new uniform in blue all the year round on 200x (can't recall the exact year in my mine).

  • 2005 :(

  • Edwardjsa: when the times I was serving in the prisons dept.,they were always performed traditional British Military music on parade or the other gathering no exception. Scotland the brave, highland laddie, happy wanderer were the frequently performed by the cape collinson band. the band master was my friend in 1970s.

  • o..... thx anyway!!

  • Completely different with the H.M.Prisons. Because I was passed out in 1974. The music likes PLA fucking march song. That is a Cape Collison band ?

  • @bbf369 I agree with you.

  • thank you for your comment.

  • Anyway, the Song is basically more british than the HK Police's one.

  • @bbf369 There is no PLA march song, all songs in the video are British music.

  • @galax574 According to the British Army Drill Manual, the 'executive' command 'FORM!' will be given when the left foot passes right when the squad is marching in quick time.

  • So, what's related to this Royal British style Parade!! Pls, do not make a comparison between a piece of shit anf a gold!!

  • true

  • sluting to CSD

如果要Squad members比禮,點解唔叫「Saluting to the right, salute?」

  • salute to csd staff

still maintain british army standard ,excellent

  • yes, unlike the HKP!!

  • good show

  • The drill is really nice. I have repeatedly seen it. The halting, I would say, is perfect.

  • I don't mean to be over-critical. I've spent 15 years in the army specializing drill and ceremonies and it's just my opinion that they could have done a better job at the halt for the advance in review order given their other better halts in this same parade. I admit my troops didn't always do better than this, but like I said, I have seen better and I think they could have done better for that halt. That's just my opinion, even if u don't agree doesn't mean I have to be wrong.

  • Once you've tried being in a parade or military tattoo with nearly a 100 people from all nationalities and you can still get the drill right, you know the parade here is much more managable. The contingent here is what we in the trade call a "platoon size", which means pretty small. I am not saying its easy, but as I said it's more managable and could and should have been even tighter in their drill.

  • Traditions do evolve and so do drill movements. All Commonwealth drill movements and commands came from the British Forces and yet what we have now is already different from 100 years ago. The HKP police mix old British Army drill with Chinese PLA movements in their flag raising drill, that's one example. The video here shows the CSD drilling with the British Army SLR rifle in slope arms position, which no other Commonwealth armies or uniform forces do. I suppose that's another one.

  • It's a very nice parade and I love it. Buddies, keep on your good show!

  • I totally agree with kspt3837, i remember that the arms used were the same as those in C&E, it should be called "L1A1", am i right? Besides, I saw that the British soliders had slope arms when i was visiting UK last time, they were using the arms with pistol grip too.... so... what do you mean, Mr / Ms Alvindurochermtl?

  • My mistake not an AR15 it's an SLR or L1A1 but my point still valid. The British Army SA80 rifle is to short to be held at the pistol grip in drill so they either slope them or hold them in shoulder arms by the end of the butt. Nowhere in the British Commonwealth that people do slope arms with the SLR so I assume this must be a "Hong Kong invention". In any case dunno why you drill with them as I assume you don't even use them in operations.

  • Thats excellent. Drill movements are identical to Irish army as well as British military movements.

  • my friend, it is brilliant drill performance. Pl open u eyes. Most weapons are not AR 15.

  • These men and women are tough enough to pass basic training and be in uniform I'm sure they are tough enough to take a critism. Like I said they are OK but there's still room for better. I admit advance in review order isn't easy but at the same time you can't deny that their halt there isn't exactly together. The video here shows that's all I'm saying. Don't want people to see iimperfection? Edit it out then.

  • These men and women are really tough. They don't mind criticism if it is given out of good faith. Everybody knows that there is no limit to the sky.

  • well said.

  • Drill's OK but I the advance in review order is a bit messy. I hate it when they carry their AR15s in the slope arms position which is entirely a Hong Kong invention. They should realize that Slope Arms is needed for weapons like the Lee Enfields because it doesn't have a pistol grip to carry it Shoulder Arms.

  • Nice performance. It definately requires a lot of practice.

Very 得! Accurate drill movements, good commanders, very high standard.
