@peacelover830. Sorry that's a 60cm Obitsu Gretel. Momoko's are about 12 inches tall, while the doll for the head (in the tutorial) goes on is about two feet tall.
Hiya, I'm considering getting a 60 cm obitsu body. Do you think a MSD head (bobobie espree mature) would fit on the 60 cm body? My doll stands 43 cm tall.
@Shikeii666 Sorry, that head will look really small on a 60cm obitsu body. One of my friends has a BBB Espree, and it's really delicate. So it would be disproportionate on such a 'large' body.
@Shikeii666, not really sure. I kinda think that it might be a little too delicate even for the 50cm. Maybe it might work with one of the newer shorter dolls that Parabox and Obitsu are coming out with?
@EeveelutionStorm you want a 27 cm obitsu doll for X-mas? Me too! :) and I think you either have to buy a head with a head that you can remove the top. Or, you pick the right piece and try to have the neck piece squeeze the hole in the head. But i'm guessing since I'm new to this type if doll...
Quick question would this apply to 27 cm dolls too? I hope to get one this year for X-mas (really badly. I plan on modeling her after an OC.) And I want to know the best ways to attatch her head. Or if its 27 cm would it be attatched already?
@EeveelutionStorm The smaller dolls have a different type of neck connector. So, to attach the head, I'd suggest warming the head up with a hair-dryer and pushing it down onto the connector/neck. If too floppy, try with the next size up connector (there should be a few of them if you are getting obitsu).
I am getting a VOLKS body and head. They are seperate. I don't know how to attach them!!!! Is this the same as a volks head attachment???? PLEASE HELP!!!!
@LizzieBorden9898 Volks and Obitsu use completely different attachment systems. From what I understand, the Volks DD2 heads just sort of get shoved down on the connector. At least this is what I gather from having to figure out how to attach an Obitsu head to a DD2 body.
Wow, great informative video! Thanx! I wondered how the obitsu head was attached to the body. I just got the 60cm with the head already attached and I couldn't figure out how the head comes off.
21cm obitsus are slightly different in structure from the 60cm one that was being used in this video. I've seen some of the 21cm, 23cm and 27cm dolls in person, but I don't own any.
I'd suggest looking up youtube user 'Datumzine' and asking her any questions about the smaller dolls, she she DOES work a lot with them.
That depends on what type of 60cm head you get. Harukas and some Gretel heads have eyepockets, so you don't have to use the eye-putty with them. Henzel, Anime, Old-style Gretel and some Pixie Gretels don't have the eyepockets, and need the use of eye-putty.
There are other alternatives to eye-putty. Like, Poster-tak, kneaded erasers, some silicon ear-plugs and in extreme cases, hot glue.
Yes, the body used there is the 60cm Obitsu 3-part body. There are a few different 60cm obitsu bodies currently available for sale, including a 55cm boy body and a 47cm girl.
If you have any other questions regarding Obitsu and Parabox products, I'd suggest going to the forums at junkyspot(dot)com. There you can talk with other doll owners and get feeback about different dolls.
The head is the 60cm Obitsu Gretel head available at Junkyspot(dot)com (my online doll store of choice because their shipping is made of win and awesome). The make-up and mods on the doll head were done by me.
If you're interested in BJDs I would really recommend going to the forums in junkyspot(dot)com or the sister forum Dreamland and asking about them there.
One thing to keep in mind with your new Obitsu, assuming that it is the 60 or 55cm variety, is to be careful with the hips. To be on the safe side, pick up an extra inner abdominal piece. Between my two Obitsus, they've gone through three of those pieces.
Head over to Junkyspot (dot) com... they sell Obitsus, and have an awesome forum where you can chat with other Obitsu owners. ^__^
Actually I just bought my first obitsu 60cm doll, and I finally worked out a couple of weeks later that her hip/ abdominal skeleton was broken, Instead of buying a replacement piece however I just drilled out the broken post that had snapped off and replaced it with a piece of wooden dowel and it is stronger now than it ever was.Not bad for a first timer, But I do have a head for fixing things.if anyone want's me to show them how I did it let me know, and I can make a quick vid I guess.
I have a quick question. I am interested in buying a obitsu, but I want to get a 25 cm body. The site I've read says that the gretal pixie head will fit on it. Is this true. Your tutorial is very helpful btw, and your doll looks gorgeous.
Sorry, the Gretel head normally will not fit on a 25cm body. A 25cm body is 1/6 scale while the Gretel is 1/3 scale. Something in 1/6 scale is more or less the size of a barbie doll, while the Gretel head fits on a doll that is 60cm tall (or about 2 feet).
Thank you for the compliment on that doll. She was something that was commissioned from me.

did you add magnets onto her cap?
animefreak5555 3 years ago
Sorry it took so long to reply to this. ^////^
Yes, those are magnets that were added to her headcap. The excess vinyl is trimmed off, and the magnets are epoxied into place. It's really great.
