Her chutney songs are what made her popular but she sang for many many movies along with singing on Babla's Dandiya Albums. Unlike most Chutney singers who focus only on Chutney she sang a variety of music. Kanchan also won numerous awards for her films songs.
Kanchan is from INDIA...yes that is correct ppl.. but she has travelled to Trinidad and Guyana and liked the music culture.. And started singing calypso music.. she has a guyanese voice listen!!
