I was just spooling and usually I don't fly or hover in my house. Have you seen the guy hovering his nitro raptor i think it was a 90 size hovering inside their living room almost like the size of my living room. Poison and dangerous.
Hy jcer , is the Turnigy Typhoon 500 Motor a good choice?? I heard about problems with this motor.. because im searching a powerful motor for my 500 Heli.
Well long ago people had issue with the magnet getting loose, they fix the problem, if not its not to hard to do autorotation when theres a problem well for the money, its a great bang for the buck i haven't test it long enough but i'm sure buying to of these motor would be awsome and have one for back up. I'm running a 5s battery and i just ordered a 14t pinion. Oh this motor have so much power in 6cell that u have to run 11t pinion which is impossible so i run 5s PERFECT!
$22 is a great deal. Align's esc is $90. However, be careful. ESC's are usually expensive, because of quality rated components. Cheap esc's have lower reliability. If you want to make your ESC last, leave it at 100% throttle(I know it seems counterintuitive). At 100% it will run cooler/work less. Then limit speed mechanically with pinion. Good luck.
I still have to test it more, but i haven't got the chance to do many test because I had to sent back my charger to great plances, a damn 200 dollar charger breaking down in the first week. Anyways i'm running 13t pinion in 5s usually trex motor run on 13t on 6s, i'm not my motor is 1800kv or so so I cant find a 11t pinion, so i steped down to 5s using 13t on turnigy typoon motor. What is helping is i'm running lower voltage then what this esc support which it support 22.2v.
Hey Jc, I run 5s also. 14T and throttle 100%. I used to go 12T, 100% throttle. Plenty for learning and sport flying. By the way, you should publish your esc parameters. I personally know 2 guys who bought 500 clones, and then gave up on the cheaper motor/esc. They didn't know how to set parameters on the esc. Here's me(search: "white trex 500 inverted cruising"). Keep on flying
What funny is mine was a plug n play type. I didn't setup the esc. At exi thread in rcgroup i told the people about this esc. Anyways yes there is a way to program this speed control but i haven't did it because theres no need. I do want to go on a higher 14t or 15t to bring up a higher speed.
hi i have this speed and it seem to be acting out...can you send me te manual please.

Yea their ok. But my brushless is powerful then that. Could be around 1900kv or 1800kv. Check my other video of the punchout on 5cell.
