@bringslovetoyou I used to have those up, but they're not of a great quality. When I somewhat reformatted my videos and took most of my old stuff down, I decided not to upload that chess set anymore (too bad quality). However, you can go to Joseph Wu's website and download pdf diagrams and fold the chess set from those. I don't think I'll make videos on the chess set again, at least not anytime soon.

I prefer folding the Toshikazu Kawasakis "new" rose, but in this video the large rose is a simpler Kawasaki rose. Having said that, a week ago I folded a large-scale "new" rose during a fair for a bit of show. :)

I'm trying to find a diagram of one... aparently they arent realy suposed to exist and the orgami conventions are allways on the coast...

As far as I can tell it's very similar to Kawasaki-san's "new rose". The main difference are the crimps that round the model. The ones that are also in the "new rose" move more to the center of the model, and there are additional, larger ones on the outside. You can try playing around with what gives the best results.

No, the twist fold stays the same. Change the location of the crimps (step 9 of Winson Chan's diagrams), 4 closer to the center, and larger ones more on the outside.

mmk. I tried to make a 32 square grid on a peice of paper then use the inside 16 to fold a kawasaki but it didnt wor to well... But uhhm i'll try what your syaing.

Ah, you probably misunderstood. You move just some of the crimps, not fold a rose with ohly half the paper.

By the way, I had another look at the Phu Tran rose, and the grid is slightly different (smaller, so more squares) that in Kawasaki-san's version. But without diagrams or someone showing you it'll be hard for you to make one, I fear.

The book "Origami for the Connoisseur" by Kunikiko Kasahara and Toshie Takahama shows how to fold Toshikazu Kawasaki's "Spiral Snail Shell". I'll not be making videos on Toshikazu Kawasaki's design, because he's expressed concerns on online videos for his models.

I had never seen giant origami, but now I have seen it I can say I completely LOVE it!! ^^ How could it would be to have a giant dinosaur in my shelf!! XD Can you tell me how big was the paper?? Was it difficult to fold with that paper?? :? It looks kind of plastic, paper like that must be difficult to fold...

It is kind of plastic, but it wasn't THAT hard to fold with. It maybe took me four to five times as long as with the paper I'd usually fold it with. I'm not sure how big the square was, but I'm guessing it was a 72cm square.

Thanks for your reply!! ^^ I have some wrapping paper that shines like that, but it must be different from yours, because my paper is not "foldable" at all XD Well, in fact my paper is not paper, it's a plastic sheet. I doubt it has any paper in it!! XD

This is great... I just learned to fold the kawasaki rose thanks to your videos and those of others. I haven't seen the new kawasaki rose though. Can you post how to fold that?

Won't be able to show a model until I master it, i.e. I feel comfortable folding it.

I don't want to disparage the other YouTube folders at all, but please don't be discouraged by having repeated a commonly explain model. As I indicated before, your explanations are among the best I've seen. Don't be afraid to split them into two videos, as you have done for the Shiri snail and the KR.
