FL Studio Tutorial - Drum Loop: Slicex & FPC [English + Español]

Hem I've got problems when I sample some drumbreaks, when there is a lot of hi-hats (not beats like the one in this video), when I slice the loop and then I make my beat, it sounds like "cutted", even if I "perfect all regions" because of the noise in the "background" of the song. Maybe you know why, it' would help me so much :)

@Natjere I know, but thats like a "sample problem" it has that noise behind the drums so, the noise still sound, you can delete a little bit of it with EQing, noise reduction plugins... but it won't be perfect.

When i put my drum loop called DL_Electrobox in my track, it continues playing and i don't know how to stop it when it's supposed to. Can anyone help me!?!?

@Rentgeen first open one of them, then, close the FL Studio default window "default settings - plugin name" is called (its maybe behind of the plugin window) and then you can open the other one.

TRUTHFULLY: SOMEBODY HELP ME WITH THIS SHIT...OKAY SO I'M TRYING TO SAMPLE A BEAT USING THE EDISON SAMPLER...THAT PART IS EASY, BUT HERE'S WHERE TROUBLE COMES IN AFTER I DRAG THE LOOP TO THE PLAYLIST THING, IT KEEPS LOOPING, LIKE INTO INFINITE, TO THE POINT WHERE IT REPEATS THE SAMPLE THOUSANDS OF TIMES, & IT DOES THIS BY ITSELF EVEN AFTER THE SAMPLE STOPS (YOU CAN PHYSICALLY SEE IT STOP) IT STILL REPEATS AND I HAVE TO PRESS THE MASTER STOP BUTTON TWICE PLEASE FUCKIN HELP I HATE FL STUDIO

Sorry, I don't use EDISON for sampling, why not use Slicex and FPC like in this video?

@dav1nl33 I used to have that problem, add a fruity slicer channel and drag your sample from edison. Then click on the new channel and pull up the misc tab. Set polyphony to 1 and in the box called "cut cut by" set a 4 in each blank spot. that should work.

@dav1nl33 Kno this post its a month old, but once u place the sample in the playlist, right click it and click on "Cut itself"... That should definitely help, my dude...

@EnigmatikoProds or even better..explain the way how to chop the beats .. i mean some tricks or informations about where to set the makers and why!..or do u always leave the autoslice make his job?

is it better always to set the makers in front of kick and snare? or better only a melody..that my biggest problem..i am always playing with it around..but ithink its more like math...16 bars 4/4... are there any rules how to cut a beat?? hope understand what i mean^^

So i sometimes just cut the samples "randomly" and make the chops sound good together, and sometimes i cut in the "beat" times, 16 bars 4/4 as you say.

I'll do a "how i make a beat" tutorial too, so keep subbed and, unfortunately, wait for 'em because i dont know when will i make/upload 'em...

C5 is a MIDI note, the first note of all. (not the lower, the one which is "in mid" a mid C) MPDs have its own presets, but they all sucks so you should make your own preset... with order in midi notes.

in PATTERN mode, i push record and then play

There's 3 kind of record+play:

1 - Countdown: the shown on this video, it counts 4 or 8 beats and then it starts playing + recording what you change while recording

2 - Wait: when you push rec and play it stills stopped until you play anything or changes some automation stuff (as a fader or knob) and then, it starts playing and recording what you change

3 - Normal, when you push record and play, it plays recording all what you change while

And you can change between that modes of record with the "square leds" just right of the MMCs/BPM/Pattern bar

I have a question about "live playing" at 2'23 do you press "play" on the MPD or what ? I can't find a way to make a loop on mpd and that "instantly" play it... Wich mode are you ? pattern, song ? i think i miss a setting but i don't know wich one !

Oh, well, in Slicex is easier, just delete the marker (the line that separe the chops) between the chops, right click and delete

Sorry, acabo de leerte, perdon por la tardanza.

Verás, debes clicar en una flecha que hay apuntando HACIA ABAJO y a continuacion clicar en "Map entire pads nosque" o algo asi era, que no tengo el FL abierto, acto seguido debes pulsar las teclas que quieras, por orden, es decir, si quieres poner que las teclas sean "q w e r" como pad 1 2 3 4 debes clicar en map entire notes (o como sea) y pulsar Q, luego W, luego E y luego R

Eso si, recuerda que solo algunas teclas funcionan!

Nice drums tutorial leading up to ill beat at end, for everyone complaining about fl7, fl8, fl9 "edison" errors such as edison wont play sample or etc just use slicex like this kat here instead.

I have not the "3 2 1" in ON, i have the METRONOME on, (first icon on the SECOND bar, FIRST column)i recommend you too the "WAIT" option (only on record, by rightclicking)

Bueno en realidad, si se hacerlo para que pulses y se siga escuchando hasta que acabe, pero el problema es que si pulsas otro mientras ese esta en play, no se corta, sino que se pone por encima del otro, tengo que mirarlo a ver xD

sabes estoy usando el floops con la mpd y cuando controlo el xlicer con la mpd los samplers me suenan solo mientras mantengo presionado el pad si lo suelto deja de sonar aun que quede sampler me entiendes? sabes como configurar eso para que yo aprete el pad y lo suelte y suene el trozo que yo corte completo?? cheka mis videos te dejo mi msn victor . a . meneses arroba hot mail . com espero tu respuesta gracias

Pues mira yo tampoco lo tengo puesto para que lo haga sonar entero, yo tambien debo dejar pulsado, por eso para hacer una base normal y corriente la dejo pulsada la tecla cuando grabo, y ya luego le hago los arreglos en el piano roll pa que no suenen los cortes, pero cuando quiero que suenen enteros a lo mejor para hacer un video o por divertirme un rato los cojo y los llevo a FPC, en FPC lo que si tienes es que entender lo de "CUT - BY" para que cuando pulses uno el otro se corte.
