I interviewed at Genuity for a syseng job with the Black Rocket team. The interview did not go well, because they were unable to get me to understand what Black Rocket actually was. I don't think it was me.
I've always said: if the job doesn't make any sense, it's going to completely suck. I ran into that sort of thing a lot in 1999-2001.
I have one of the black rockets used in these commercials on my desk. That's about all I have left of Genuity, besides the memories of course. Was good while it lasted!
Ahhh, those were the days. Thanks for the dot com nostalgia. This reminds me of that old SNL parody commercial making fun vague dot com era ads like this one. I can't remember exactly how it went, just that it ended with them saying "...even we don't know what we do".
Yeah, I got their Black Rocket... in the ass! These bozos hosted my company's SaaS applications and couldn't tell me the server was down before my clients did. Nearly put us out of business till we threw them out. Too bad they spent all their IPO money on advertising and Exec bonuses instead of engineers to actually perform the work.
Thank you Mullen Advertising for this pointless, smarmy, "edgy," ad that really only showed how pointless, smarmy and "edgy" Mullen Advertising was. Complete crap.
I remember this ad and wondered, "what the hell is this FOR?" and never getting it. Years later, I'm in my cube, still wondering, and I find this on youtube. Thanks for posting. I still don't get it!

I always liked this ad. Seems like there was another similar one as well. The company was crap, but the ad was just cool.
Thanks for posting.

One of my all time favorite commercials and the fact that I only have a vague idea of what they are selling makes it even better.

Try bringing one of those on your carry on luggage fo a flight. They see that through the x-ray and it is anything but "move along"
