first off if you havnt played the game in the last 6 months STFU. the game has changed a shit load in this time period..ther are now factions,more mounts,pets,new maps,new raids,new gear and shit loads more.
the world is huge the load times are about 30 secs and you dont notice em.
the world is by far the most detailed and live feeling mmorpg enviroment created yet.
ive played all the other mmorpg from swg-sto and this is in my top 3.
I had to press the play button after the ad finished! then it said an error occurred so then i had to refresh the page, but then some fat guy came up on the screen telling ME how he was gona take me to the core or some sick shit like that, OMG PERV!
It might be a little more interesting than wow, because it requires you to pay a lot more attention to what you're doing while both PvE ing and PvP ing.

I play WoW and i say wow its like 10000 time better! lol you need to press an arrow to swing your weapon to left or right lol and do the same with you shield. And you need to zoom in and aim above the monster/creature to hit it when you are a something with a bow! L.O.L WoW its 10000 time better!

AoC beats WoW down into the bloody dirt. I tried WoW. Couldn't take the boring combat or gameplay and quit before lvl 30. Why aren't there any good sounds in WoW anyways? I can't heard walking/running, many sound from your natural surrounding are missing etc etc. It sucks with a game like that. I barely hear any music as well. AoC got more action and better combat, and completely supreme sound and music.
To start off with, Warcraft was good and got really popular + what followed was its sequels, which must have started the entire idea of a warcraft MMO. If Warcraft wasn't popular, that wouldn't have happened.
AoC only had its books and comics as far as I know, and I dare bet that many of the fans didn't play AoC, while Warcraft already was a game and had a major fanbase.
And PERSONALLY, I like AoC alot more than shitty WoW. If you don't like it; suck me.

Yes, I got AoC at launch, I have the collector's edition in a wardrobe somewhere.
And I played AoC for about three days again as everyone claimed it was a much better game now. Which was about three months ago.

Everyone THINKS this and that game is going to slaughter WoW within months, but it won't. WoW is a very strong title, and it will take a lot to bring it down from number one. Time, combined with a good game and good customer support is what will beat WoW.

And for some reason I can't imagine an already existing universe as an MMO (Star Wars x| ). I think people want something new, so perhaps Secret World will be sold well, unless the unrest after AoC launch still lingers. The new MMO Blizzard is working on may also be good (Its Blizzard!). But I've only heard rumors.

@SausageTooth Yes it would of been just as popular if Blizzard's first and only game was WoW. Blizzard released what made WoW so great very shortly after launch, by the time players hit 60 there was enough end-game to keep many players playing to this date.

This is without a doubt the best mmo on the market now. It had a sketchy launch, but then again, so do most mmo's. I didn't care though, I just took my time, enjoyed my time playing the game at a pace that was comfortable. As of now, it's super polished, and they just fixed sieges today! Loving it!!!!
@screwmanx Couldn't disagree with you more. Consoles even the playing field so everyone is using a similar setup. AND not all gamers enjoy keyboard mashing, I prefer a remote (xbox specifically). If they took out console gaming they'd be destroying a massive market, we're talking billions of dollars of revenue.

PC games are generally of higher quality and always have been, the best games out are meant to be played on PC most of the time, even if they get console ports, and consoles have considerably lower capabilities than a PC. Nintendo sticks to its own thing, thankfully, but the Xbox and Playstation are technological cancer.

@Cainus44 PC games are turning into console ports though. Games designed for consoles then "reshaped" for PC. It makes the gameplay a lot less fluid most of the time because of this.
@mcennis4545 Doesn't matter. Console ports of PC games rarely compare to the original version, and let's not forget how Microsoft and Sony have a nasty tendency to make users pay for DLC. As I said before consoles also have significantly lower performance capabilities. You think 360 or PS3 is gonna outperform a high end PC? Please. And there's hardly any "designed for console" games that are worth playing, and even they are still better on the PC. Also: Mods. We get 'em, console kiddies don't.
Funnily enough I played WoW since the start and never raided, but in Age of Conan it was the first game I raided. I guess its because players are nicer while WoW raiders are so uptight and take it too seirously.

This game won the ( mmorpg 2009 )Age og conan won againts Wow and lotro. AoC is realy a good game now. It had a bad start, but after the new leader came, and with all the new patches, this game rules.
@x1xpopex1x DT can be a real pain in pvp but you need lots of skill to really rule. almost the same for most other melees(dont know about the barbarian). but ranger would be a really good start to aoc pvp. try a melee when you have more experience.

This is a great mmo that just had a bad launch.. Playing as an assassin really 'feels' like it should, sneaking up behind somone and getting them to 50% hp before they even know whats going on, top it off with a gory finishing move is very satisfying.
everyone in my guild are from 20 to 40 years old, its the same with wow, only problem now with aoc is that you will need a very good pc to handle all the freezing and lag at higher settings when it comes to high lvl pvp and raids, otherwise its a great game
I still consider WoW to be a better game. I realize the graphics are dull compared to AoC, but the content and lore is more advanced and built-up. Still, I understand if people like AoC. It's got lovely graphics. You can't tell the difference between the real world and the game.
i played aion kr&eu the game its to fun quest great scenarios lots of people 'Bots'' aion its full of bots, and after lvl 20 all the lvls are the same.. do 3 quest get a stupid exp and later farm during 5, 6, 7, 8, hours on the same mob till you lvl, and the worst its when you want farm-quest on abys cuz abyss got better exp, you cant cuz 1guy every 3minutes will kill you, its really anoying, people says many things about aion but its only another KoreanGrindGame full of bots
i noticed some people are saying that the combat looks boring and i do agree that it "looks boring" but when you actually are in a fight in the game, it is extremely intense. all weapons, especially 2h weapons do splash damage which makes the mob fighting amazing. this game has by far the best combat system out of every MMO out there.
go to your search bar and type "wow pvp". Even a mentally impeded can understand there's a little bit more going on there than just this hack'n'slash crap.
yeah caribolas, it's so funny when you see someone casting a spell while 2 enemy characters are kicking his ass in close combat, but the caster's care a shit about his blades, he just continue with his stupid conjure wich got the same animations of other conjures. Wow got some of the most silly animations ever, they are like robots. At least this is more exciting because the level is not so important, you must use the blade and the bow very well, with some wargear help, simple and adicting.
hell I want to try this out..my other MMOS have pretty pretty much been failures..which I too stubbornly dragged myself through..this looks more primitive blood and gore friendly, which I like. ;- )
Ive tried some MMO's. LotRo, WoW, Warhammer, Saga of heroes, Champions Online and some others. All those MMOs suck ass, mainly Lotro and Champions Online. I heard so much bad stuff about AoC that I stayed away from it for a very long time. Picked it up recently and I cant, for the life of me, understand where all the bad reviews came from for this game. Hands down, AoC is the best MMO out there as of today. I dont even understand why this game hasnt got a huge fanbase.

The only Unique MMO I can think of is FunComs upcoming Secret World. But so far, I really don't know if I like it or not. Love the no level concept, but I really hope it was not as bad as AoC at launch :S
If its ONE thing FunCom does completely right, its music, atmosphere and general feel to their games.

Everyone THINKS this and that game is going to slaughter WoW within months, but it won't. WoW is a very strong title, and it will take a lot to bring it down from number one. Time, combined with a good game and good customer support is what will beat WoW.
It won't be the new Star Wars MMO, it probably won't be the expansion for AoC but one day, some MMO will beat it :D

WoW is fucking Arnold and Thor of any games. Copies sold are probably way more than active subscribers.
And for some reason I can't imagine an already existing universe as an MMO (Star Wars x| ). I think people want something new, so perhaps Secret World will be sold well, unless the unrest after AoC launch still lingers. The new MMO Blizzard is working on may also be good (Its Blizzard!). But I've only heard rumors.

@SausageTooth Yes it would of been just as popular if Blizzard's first and only game was WoW. Blizzard released what made WoW so great very shortly after launch, by the time players hit 60 there was enough end-game to keep many players playing to this date.
AoC sucks because it is buggy and other MMOs have done what it does, much better.

This is without a doubt the best mmo on the market now. It had a sketchy launch, but then again, so do most mmo's. I didn't care though, I just took my time, enjoyed my time playing the game at a pace that was comfortable. As of now, it's super polished, and they just fixed sieges today! Loving it!!!!

@screwmanx Couldn't disagree with you more. Consoles even the playing field so everyone is using a similar setup. AND not all gamers enjoy keyboard mashing, I prefer a remote (xbox specifically). If they took out console gaming they'd be destroying a massive market, we're talking billions of dollars of revenue.
If you think those billions of dollars from gamers that say "Hey people like console gaming" isn't enough to disagree with you, I don't know what else to tell you.

PC games are generally of higher quality and always have been, the best games out are meant to be played on PC most of the time, even if they get console ports, and consoles have considerably lower capabilities than a PC. Nintendo sticks to its own thing, thankfully, but the Xbox and Playstation are technological cancer.

@Cainus44 PC games are turning into console ports though. Games designed for consoles then "reshaped" for PC. It makes the gameplay a lot less fluid most of the time because of this.

@mcennis4545 Doesn't matter. Console ports of PC games rarely compare to the original version, and let's not forget how Microsoft and Sony have a nasty tendency to make users pay for DLC. As I said before consoles also have significantly lower performance capabilities. You think 360 or PS3 is gonna outperform a high end PC? Please. And there's hardly any "designed for console" games that are worth playing, and even they are still better on the PC. Also: Mods. We get 'em, console kiddies don't.

Funnily enough I played WoW since the start and never raided, but in Age of Conan it was the first game I raided. I guess its because players are nicer while WoW raiders are so uptight and take it too seirously.

@x1xpopex1x DT can be a real pain in pvp but you need lots of skill to really rule. almost the same for most other melees(dont know about the barbarian). but ranger would be a really good start to aoc pvp. try a melee when you have more experience.

This is a great mmo that just had a bad launch.. Playing as an assassin really 'feels' like it should, sneaking up behind somone and getting them to 50% hp before they even know whats going on, top it off with a gory finishing move is very satisfying.

everyone in my guild are from 20 to 40 years old, its the same with wow, only problem now with aoc is that you will need a very good pc to handle all the freezing and lag at higher settings when it comes to high lvl pvp and raids, otherwise its a great game

I still consider WoW to be a better game. I realize the graphics are dull compared to AoC, but the content and lore is more advanced and built-up. Still, I understand if people like AoC. It's got lovely graphics. You can't tell the difference between the real world and the game.

i played aion kr&eu the game its to fun quest great scenarios lots of people 'Bots'' aion its full of bots, and after lvl 20 all the lvls are the same.. do 3 quest get a stupid exp and later farm during 5, 6, 7, 8, hours on the same mob till you lvl, and the worst its when you want farm-quest on abys cuz abyss got better exp, you cant cuz 1guy every 3minutes will kill you, its really anoying, people says many things about aion but its only another KoreanGrindGame full of bots

i noticed some people are saying that the combat looks boring and i do agree that it "looks boring" but when you actually are in a fight in the game, it is extremely intense. all weapons, especially 2h weapons do splash damage which makes the mob fighting amazing. this game has by far the best combat system out of every MMO out there.

yeah caribolas, it's so funny when you see someone casting a spell while 2 enemy characters are kicking his ass in close combat, but the caster's care a shit about his blades, he just continue with his stupid conjure wich got the same animations of other conjures. Wow got some of the most silly animations ever, they are like robots. At least this is more exciting because the level is not so important, you must use the blade and the bow very well, with some wargear help, simple and adicting.

Ive tried some MMO's. LotRo, WoW, Warhammer, Saga of heroes, Champions Online and some others. All those MMOs suck ass, mainly Lotro and Champions Online. I heard so much bad stuff about AoC that I stayed away from it for a very long time. Picked it up recently and I cant, for the life of me, understand where all the bad reviews came from for this game. Hands down, AoC is the best MMO out there as of today. I dont even understand why this game hasnt got a huge fanbase.
