Saw this show at Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix, AZ. My friends arms on the stage while he sang loudly all night. Then he swiped the set list that was taped down n front of DeGarmo. Great show.
I'm pretty sure I was at this show. I saw them a bunch of times at L'Amour East. One weekend, made the short trip from Brooklyn to Queens both nights.
Anybody know what Goeff is saying during his "monologue" near the end of the song before it kicks into high gear? On both the studio and live recordings it sounds muddy and I can't make his words out and it drives me crazy! Thanks to anyone who can help with this.
@hawkhandsaw The first line is; "My Concious Spoken Evades Me". This is right from DeGarmo's mouth back in 1985. He promised Geoff to never tell, but we begged this one line out of him. Chris did say that if you listened real closely with headphones on you could make it all out. Told him we'd tried that. But it's true in a sense, once you know what he's saying you can totally hear it clearly :) Check it out for yourself..."My Concious Spoken Evades Me" will now be clear as a bell for you.
@ManikinLaff Thanks! That was a big help. Very interesting. Will give a listen with headphones to the remastered edition and report back what I find. Cheers!
this video photagrapher must have been hammered I mean all I can see is the back of someones ass and Geoff tates Prince styled haircut and c. degarmo were they the only ones that showed or what?? I 've heard of man crushes but damn!!!!
i saw Ryche open for Ozzy (shot in the dark) phenomenal concert , the crowd was in awe after ryche's opening ...... don't ask me any detail questions cause iwas bongged up!
wow amazing freaking video!!! i so wish i was able to live through the 80s...was born in 88...Queensryche are amazing there will never be another QR or Geoff tate...and geoff sounds awesome today now that he finally quit the cancer sticks!!
Yup, becoming a smoker will do that to you. He went through a long period of smoking which largely contributed to the degradation of his voice over the years.
I was at this show. It was the most packed show i have ever been to. I saw them play there on the Warning tour to. They were to big for this club at this point.
I too saw them open for Maiden at radio city I think it was 84. A great show by both bands Maiden was more polished but Queensryche was extremely impressive.
It's kool to hear from someone else who was there.
Was a great show. Dickinson was supposedly sick with the flu for that show so his vocals weren't all there. Still a great show. Queensryche was tight and really blew me away.
wow- I was at this amazing show!!- think the club broke some fire codes for sure (it was beyond packed)and was lucky to meet Geoff Tate with my buddy at a nearby diner after soundcheck.... think he was having a salad :) This sure brings back some memories!!
I've been a fan since The Warning was released. I've seen them live 6 times and only seen Take Hold of the Flame played live. This was really cool. Thanks
I was 13 when this was filmed and still to young to go to a concert. First concert I was allowed to see was Nov 24 1988 when they opened for Metallica. There will never be another Geoff Tate. Time is the great thief.
I know taking vids is easier than it was back then but MAN...I wished the camera could've gotten more of the stage and Geoff. The youth and style really took me back to the first time I saw QR (1986). The sound and enthusiasm was so fresh.
Nice hair Geoff!!

Can anyone imagine going back to '87 and hearing this again? These guys were so incredibly ahead of their time.

'My Concious Spoken Evades Me'
Is English your first language? That line makes absolutely no sense. Do you mean 'Conscience', perhaps?

Thanx for this video. One of the best Ryche songs. I agree about Tate, he was indeed the greatest vocalist ever in his prime...

I saw this band back in 1985 for the first time. They opened for AC/DC, and Qeensryche
was uzzing with talent. Geoff Tate's voice was the best I ever heard along with De Garmo's talent's and the rest of the band too.
