They made a blue million of that type of model. Some just one side lid lifted up. Some the whole lid. Some had storage drawers. It was a middle of the road model for budget minded people. And they still made spring phonographs after 1925 and spring portable models on up through the 40's. Electrical recordings came out about 1925 and the older models were replaced with "Orthophonic" models but still spring wound mostly. "Electrolas" are pretty hard to find.
I just inherited a talking machine made by Independent TM Company of NY. It's in excellent condition. I also have about 12 records. It's proudly displayed in my living room.
Nice job on the demo Tony. Can you find an acoustic record to play on that 1923 Victor? I believe that was a much later electric. Congratulations on the Title, you will always be the Conn. Record King !!
With all due respect that is similar to the opening part of Rocky but NOT the same. Funny because I have a very similar phonograph (but not the same as yours..) Mine has the lid going all the way across from left to right across the machine, while on yours only the top right part lifts up, but they are basically the same machines! Kool video!
