this is probably an unbelievably stupid question... but is it possible to run other keyboards through the radias r rack unit? i have an m-audio axiom 49. if i bought just the radias rack unit, would it be possible to use the axiom in place of the radias's stock keyboard? i've googled the hell out of this but i haven't been able to find a conclusive answer, so i figured i'd ask.
@korsetti1 cool, thanks. that's what i thought, but i was a bit confused about the korg komponent system since i read that only the m3 and the stock radias keyboard were compatible with it. how's the radias for recording with ableton? and btw... awesome cover of phantom. figure i should at least give you the credit you deserve before bothering you with questions :p.
@reggietheporpoise nevermind :) btw radias is really cool for electro and techno stuff, it as a solid and powerfull sound for dirty synths. With ableton i use only via audio, so it's like all others synths :)
@korsetti1 cool. i wanna mess around with making "dirty analog" sounds for electro type stuff. operator is definitely cool, but i need a more "real" interface to get the hang of it. radias seems like a good way to go. not as good as like an ms-20, but i don't have $2000 to throw around for something i'm still learning on. thanks for the feedback man.
I only wish to someday own a radias but for now I have a yamaha MM6 which does the basics of everything but it works well! With a real synth like that can you pretty much make any type of sound? I'm not familiar with the synthesizers
you know....it depends on the kind of synth you have. There are additive synths, FM synths, subtractive synths.... there are a lot of way to create a sound.
The radias is a virtual-analog synth, and has a multi modeling technology synth engine.
I really like Radias, it has a very powerfull sound for electro music, and techno stuff.

@reggietheporpoise yes it's possible, radias module has MIDI IN, OUT and THRU so you can control it via midi like all rack units ;)

93Crysta 2 years ago
@93Crysta you mean wich part is playng the radias?
korsetti1 2 years ago
@93Crysta or if you mean the original sound of the korg it was a simple sine wave...
korsetti1 2 years ago
How exactly did you get that fade in fade out type of sound with the bass line? Any idea what I'm talking about?
DrFronz 2 years ago
@DrFronz yea i understand. Its a sound technique called "sidechain" :)

cheaper synth:

they work great.
korsetti1 2 years ago
amazing! I sure wish I had the money to have a setup like that. How do you make such a unique sound? And is that ableton live you are using?
classicarmyowner 2 years ago
thanks :)
If you haave a radias i can send you the patch for this synth sound. It was an initial preset when i started to create it. (a simple saw wave).
And...yess, it's ableton live 8! But the kick and snare are samples from a Roland TR808.
