  • I still feel bad for those who lost there lives and for those who lost everything, It was the worst tornado of 2011. I remeber hearing about it while working. I had to call my friend to make sure he was okay, he was there that day and saw everything.

  • Being from Alabama, and knowing how petrified I was hearing those sirens going off all throughout April 27th...this is so scary to me. The noise sends chills all over me! God bless Alabama's Recovery!

  • Gosh it seems like south gets more of theses intense tornadoes than the Midwest which is suppossedly Tornado Alley!!!

  • @uuuultra It's a good thing you didn't see!

  • how unreal. this might be one most genuinely scary vids on youtube

  • Video started at 3:21 pm

  • @dakidd84 at least yall have sirens in the south close to mobile we have none

  • @dakidd84 your lucky didn't come your way

  • What time was this one? We got hit about 6:40 that morning off 432 in south g'ville.

  • No it was about 2 miles north of us.

  • i was in earthlink when it hit

  • did it hit you

  • @39ryannewmanfan it did'nt hit him but it totally hit your mom.

  • i was in walmart workin when it went by talk bout scary

  • Well, Its been about three weeks now; things are finally getting back to normal. For everyone who does not know, there were severe storms (both producing tornadoes) the morning of this video and in the afternoon. This tornado occured around 4 pm. I was at my grandparents on a pc game. I was talking to my friend whose house got hit by the tornado while he was in it. All of a sudden he said he had to go, I didnt hear from him until the next day. I went to his house and it was like a nuke had hit.

  • @ranger133X I can't even tell where I am at in the section of town where the tornado hit. It used to be lush forest and neighborhoods, not its just wasteland.

By the way, 3 tornadoes touched down in Arab on that day, at least 8 people passed away (including an entire family except for one small child). Over 300 thousand people were without power for about 3-5 days. There is just so much to say, but I don't have room to say it. Try looking on facebook for pages about this tornado.

  • @hollielovesbieber I'm sure most of us will I have been praying for everyone who lost everything, especially loved ones.

  • wind chimes are freaky

  • oh my..i would have tripped out O_o but seriously i'm keeping the whole state of Alabama in my prayers

  • Never heard announcements like that over a siren! does that happen often? (Tha annoucements)

  • I pray for everyone to be ok and for those who lost loved ones and their homes.

We had an F3 tornado go about 100 yards behind our house into a forest, the F3 I am talking about is the one that destroyed some homes on County Highway 187 near hodges alabama, but i'm still praying after a week and I won't stop untill I know that everyone else is ok.

  • Wow, that has 2 be the creepiest beginning to any video ever. First, the wind blows in a dark sky. Then, the wind chimes blow. Then, those sirens blare w/ a loud creepy voice that echoes thru the air.

  • i live not even a mile from where you are video taping from i pray for the familys that lost loved ones and pray for quick healing

  • i live in huntsville and our tornado sirens dont talk o.o

  • Not too far away from ya Dakkid, I seen this thing around 7 am in the morning over on `1855 county rd down 69

  • @Acerfan2010 This one was the one that went through Ruth around 3:20 pm, The one you are talking about hit that morning,Two different storms.

  • @jall65 Yeah Thats my bad lo,. The storm in general was pretty devastating all around. I had driven down into downtown Cullman and man that place got hit pretty dang hard, Guntersville seemed to get a good lick from it too. Not sure how bad Huntsville and the rest got it though.

  • do you happen to know if it hit where the horse show grounds are?

  • I don't know which is scarier, the siren or the announcer saying, "Seek shelter NOW!!!"

  • my power just now came on.. i live 2 miles from this school

  • this very tornado killed 8 people in arab

  • I was sitting in the hallway closet at my house doing this, the only person at my house at the time with my dad at work. Thank god it missed our house, our neighborhood got the edge of the tornado, only damage in the neighborhood was the trees. All we lost at my house was power, butt man do I feel sorry for the folks near Jet Pep, and Ruth Rd.

  • i drive by your house almost every day.

  • Were the tornado sirens delayed?! It seemed like the sirens started after the tornado was already there?!

  • @lizzie64100 They actually had gone off prior to the tornado. They sound off for a while and then stop for a little while then start again.

  • YALL HAVE THE SCARIEST TORNADO SIRENS IVE EVER HEARD IN MY LIFE

  • @Txlonewolf85

    lol thanks

  • Hi. My name is Amie Hopkins Rotch I lived in Arab for 38 years and attended 3-5 grades at the school in the background of this video. My family still lives there, and Thank God they are all ok. I lived through the 1995 and the 2003 tornadoes, and helped clear debris and rescue efforts then. I reside in a different state now, but I visit often. My heart breaks when I think of the ones who were lost and the loved ones they left behind. God Bless ARAB!! U are all in my prayers!

  • @realamie I lived in Alabama most of my life (Springville, Arab, and Huntsville)...I was in the Anderson hills tornado of 1995 in Harvest. (was in the elementary school in Arab for 4th and 5th grade)...I now know that all my family and loved ones in Alabama are safe, but my heart breaks for those who were not as fortunate. I am happy not to live there anymore (now I just have to worry about hurricanes).

  • If you call the sheriff department they will send someone out to check on him. i didnt that

  • He called me last night. Said everything is ok. He said they actually stayed on their porch and watched it pass about a mile down from them.

    Thanks yall for answering!

  • it must have been like a nightmare to be in Central and North Alabama during this storm.

  • My uncle lives on the north side of Arab I believe about where that tornado is. We still haven't heard from him but we are hoping that it is because he doesn't have a cell phone and that he is ok. Do you know about where in north Arab the tornado was? This way I can ask my family who lives near there if any of the landmarks that were hit were near his house. Store's, road name's, anything like that would be very helpful. Thank you for your time and I hope you can get power back on soon.

  • @sockrocker87 It crossed highway 231 about 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile north of Warehouse Foods and Jack's

  • @sockrocker87 Hope everything is okay :) Im sure he will be fine! x

  • @sockrocker87 Have you heard from him any.

  • @dakidd84 I think he lives on Cullman Rd.

  • @Cinnyk1977 I believe it did cross Cullman Rd. but it is a very long road. Odds are in his favor. Hope all is well.

  • my friend lives in alabama and one of her best friends died yesterday they just found her body but she is also my friend too but damn thats a hugeeee tornado is it an ef5 or what but my thoughts and prayers from NC :'(

  • interesting, a voice announcement over the PA along with the tornado sirens.. never heard anything like that before.

  • Was the tornado around the arab junior high?

  • @rsiegel69 nope, other side of town.

  • It's so large it doesn't even look like its moving. Just unbelievable.! Glad you made it through. Those poor people who were in that path. Prayers from S.C.

  • Great video! you got the monster tornado, you got the sirens, you got the warnings.

  • That twister hit my girlfriends Aunt's house...It just leveled the place

  • DROID

  • You are a brave man for recording that!! I would have been shittin myself right about now!!!

  • Omg!!!!! My nana and papa's house is on sixth street across from the high school.. Did the park get messed up bad too?? I loved playing there as a kid!! :(

  • @TheMizzmegan Hi, my name is Anthony D'Angelo. I live on 6th St. across from the high school :)

  • OMG, my best friend lived in that house when I was in high school. I went to that school!!!!!!

  • well i have to say i was there this sprong break some of my family lives there and i have played on that play ground in this video i hope all is going ok there and i pray for all the families that lost house, family, friends,or anything else

  • My heart goes to all those affected by these storms. Listening to the warning is creepy!

  • I was one of the first ones on the scene and a buddy of mine and I pulled 3 people out of a house and then went to find to missing babies we managed to save 1 out of 6 people but when we got there 5 was already passed away. I will never forget this ever

  • Current death toll is at 162 for Alabama alone. The whole State is so devastated. so heartbreaking.

  • this is like a nightmare... people died from

    this tornado.

  • Such devastation. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you and RIP to those who lost their lives. God bless you.

  • It is hit and miss on phone calls. Yes, there were injuries and deaths. Do you know the street he lives on?

  • Was anyone injured in this? My brother and his family live there and no one will answer phones

  • @Cinnyk1977 Many areas still without power or phone, and I think some cell towers were lost. Our cell service is hit and miss. Where in Arab does your family live?
