Wooow. Is the second series really as dark as this preview makes it out to be?

@Nerdicaful I haven't seen The Black Rose Saga, so I can't really say. I have heard the soundtrack though and it does give that impression.

@Nerdicaful its alright as far as tone goes, the final story arc is probably the darkest one, though. dark rose saga suffers from the same thing that most things that that director touches do: repetition. the episodes follow an almost exact formula for each one.
of course these critiques are said with love, as utena is one of very few Japanese cartoons i can stand anymore.
