I used a program called Audacity - excellent freeware audio editor. Also, if your sound card supports it, you can record from a "Stereo Mix" input, and that will record pretty much anything coming out your computer's speakers.

It comes with all Windows XP computers. You can find him by going to Start > Control Panel > Speech, and select Microsoft Sam from the Voices. You may need to install this feature manually, however, so get out your Windows XP Installation disc if you need it. =P
