Awww those Friendship cakes starters are neat ! Everyones in too much of a damned hurry these days to write letters or bake ...never mind being responsible for a Friendship Starter...do what you can and keep it keepin on !!!
I know with sour bread dough you set it near a window and it will pick up a fungus from the air that makes the dough sour. I never heard of this. This is interesting. It's kinda like a secret Mushroom strain that some people keep in the family to have there own breed of shrooms.
