This doesn't bring up boost though. Superchargers suck HP, it takes HP to spin them. A pure TT setup will make considerably more power from the mid up, but lose some bottom end. I bet the TT setup they are comparing to makes less boost than this. So not really a fair comparo. Very cool though. If you want a very street performance package this is it.

@crazyfvck its a setup called "compound boost", and its becoming more and more popular, especially with factory supercharged fords (IE cobras, GT's, and lightnings). basically the roots style supercharger makes boost from idle, then the turbos compliment the supercharger by throwing MAD boost toward the top end of the powerband, making insane HP and TQ all the way across the powerband.

actually you are taking compressed air and compressing it againg therefore cramming more air and fuel into the cylinders and the reason y it only makes 1000 hp is probably because the compression ratio under boost is 30:1 that is why it makes only 1000 but that is whp the ford gt makes around 550 engine hp which you have to take a percentage out for the loss through the drivetrain... @102rancid mate the reason people turbo supercharged cars is that you get the off the line power from a supercharger and when boost is reached on the turbos, they take over, and it wouldnt require any extra cooling as the s/charger would cool the compressed air from the turbo, with this design you get more power off the line, backed up by boost over the designated period and better fuel efficiency and smoother running. you need to think of the logical reason before bagging what has been done
@102rancid nah buddy the supercharger doesnt suck up heat from the turbos. if you think of the supercharger as stage 1 of the boost. this is in essence to get forced air into the engine from low revs where the turbos lag. once its up to speed, stage 2 of the boost happens from the turbos. i must admit its not the best way to do this 'cause superchargers use power to make power and to only get just over 800 bhp from triple charging is quite surprising. can get more from a 2.0 n 1 big turbo.

@monsi23 yes. It is all stock except for the Twin Turbo/Supercharger setup. The only mod that Hennessey did to the ford GT was install some Garrett Twin Turbos, and change the side decals from, "FORD GT" to, "GT 1000"
no the don't....well maybe on the hennessey model but ppl do leave the super charger on but they re work the piping so that the super charge boosts the turbos.
Its possible, also been done on the GTR, gives the best of both worlds....Immediate Low End Boost from the Supercharger and a Spooling Top End Boost from the Turbo's.

@monsi23 yes. It is all stock except for the Twin Turbo/Supercharger setup. The only mod that Hennessey did to the ford GT was install some Garrett Twin Turbos, and change the side decals from, "FORD GT" to, "GT 1000"

no the don't....well maybe on the hennessey model but ppl do leave the super charger on but they re work the piping so that the super charge boosts the turbos.

Its not the first time i see that either, VW made an engine with a supercharge/turbocharge layout... Dunno if they produced it.

Its possible, also been done on the GTR, gives the best of both worlds....Immediate Low End Boost from the Supercharger and a Spooling Top End Boost from the Turbo's.
