I have setup edc now for 3 years and this was my first edc that I stayed at and when deadmau5 opened with this song will be something that I will never forget. The energy the vibe is something that is unexplainable. You can hate all you want on him or this type of music. Go ahead. Until you go you will never be able to understand. @626smd if you really do help to set up edc. can you make sure that it is well organized this year and that there is sufficient security for EVERYONE that enters? aka everybody gets patted down. because tao was a disaster with a bad vibe where bad things could have happened due to lack of security and organization. they oversold tickets and ppl were packed like sardines and it was overall just poorly organized and it gave off a bad vibe. i still had fun cus i loved the music tho.

Also he was too cocky to use the house lights in addition to his own. In a stadium of that size, and after Swedish House Mafia and Kaskade had rocked the house with EDC's setup, Deadmau5's lights were feeble and unimpressive. Don't get me wrong, the cube is genius and amazing. But one can only appreciate it from a certain distance. The majority of the crowd was too far to do so; another reason Deadmau5 sucked.
Before I went to EDC I listened to as much EDM as I possibly could. That includes coming on youtube & watching old performances of the artists I knew I wanted 2 c. I had seen deadmau5's entire set @ Coachella & was THOROUGHLY IMPRESSED. Later I looked up his next show after that in Ireland or somewhere and was shocked to see that he played the EXACT SAME SET. At that point I became very nervous that I was going to see the same thing for the third time. I was right, and it was very disappointing.
@neelmonsta i hate to inform you, but every musician, and band, plays pretty much the same set when they are on a tour, with the exception of 1-3 different songs from varying locations, benny played the EXACT same set at EDC as he did a month before at POP2010, and a few months before that at Coachella, suck it up and quit bitching. If you dont like the way artists work, become a DJ yourself and see how hard it is to perform a different set every time when you are on the road.
@Specialized1989 EVEN if they play 1-3 different songs that would be more than what deadmau5 changed. Not to mention at least the lights were different. Even deamau5's lights were the exact same. Also I don't think Benny played the EXACT same setlist. I know they have a certain number of hit songs they like to play...but even then c'mon it's EDC...do something special and different nobody has seen yet!
@neelmonsta well deadmau5's works with the light show people to where he sends them his MIDI que's and they organize the lights to his music, so if hes playing the same set....same lights follow. I understand ur frustration about it being EDC, and i agree, its just too rough on the artist to warp his set list too much to make it unique every time.
The only thing I didn't like was he was taking so long to perform, and just get going. And then he went ahead and played the same beat as everyone else. But I could see why someone would love it if they're on the floor. I was in the stands, freezing my ass off. So by that point I was annoyed. But over all best weekend of my fucking life.

I was at edc this year, to say that deadmau5 sucked you must be an idiot. He was beyond incredible. Kaskade went way over his set. So deadmau5 had to cut it short and while deadmau5 was setting up that took at least 30 minutes. but his intro was sick!!! and Kaskade was amazing. But swedish house mafia took the cake, they were the best, unrealll. That night was something i will never forget :]

Also he was too cocky to use the house lights in addition to his own. In a stadium of that size, and after Swedish House Mafia and Kaskade had rocked the house with EDC's setup, Deadmau5's lights were feeble and unimpressive. Don't get me wrong, the cube is genius and amazing. But one can only appreciate it from a certain distance. The majority of the crowd was too far to do so; another reason Deadmau5 sucked.

Before I went to EDC I listened to as much EDM as I possibly could. That includes coming on youtube & watching old performances of the artists I knew I wanted 2 c. I had seen deadmau5's entire set @ Coachella & was THOROUGHLY IMPRESSED. Later I looked up his next show after that in Ireland or somewhere and was shocked to see that he played the EXACT SAME SET. At that point I became very nervous that I was going to see the same thing for the third time. I was right, and it was very disappointing.

@neelmonsta i hate to inform you, but every musician, and band, plays pretty much the same set when they are on a tour, with the exception of 1-3 different songs from varying locations, benny played the EXACT same set at EDC as he did a month before at POP2010, and a few months before that at Coachella, suck it up and quit bitching. If you dont like the way artists work, become a DJ yourself and see how hard it is to perform a different set every time when you are on the road.

@Specialized1989 EVEN if they play 1-3 different songs that would be more than what deadmau5 changed. Not to mention at least the lights were different. Even deamau5's lights were the exact same. Also I don't think Benny played the EXACT same setlist. I know they have a certain number of hit songs they like to play...but even then c'mon it's EDC...do something special and different nobody has seen yet!

@neelmonsta well deadmau5's works with the light show people to where he sends them his MIDI que's and they organize the lights to his music, so if hes playing the same set....same lights follow. I understand ur frustration about it being EDC, and i agree, its just too rough on the artist to warp his set list too much to make it unique every time.

The only thing I didn't like was he was taking so long to perform, and just get going. And then he went ahead and played the same beat as everyone else. But I could see why someone would love it if they're on the floor. I was in the stands, freezing my ass off. So by that point I was annoyed. But over all best weekend of my fucking life.

i went to edc la '10 i saw la riots, i saw dada life i saw afro jack twice, i saw wolfgang, i saw kaskade, excision, aoki x2, 12th planet, armin.. i saw the some of the best djs in the world play their hardest sets and i also saw dead mau5. HIS SET WAS SHIT, HIS LIGHTS WERE SHIT, and dead mau5 was DEFINITELY NOT THE BEST SHOW AT EDC LA 2010. THATS WHY WE H8 NIGR

What WE hate is everyone calling Deadmau5 a DJ. DEADMAU5 is an AJ(Ableton Jockey), plays his own shit, everywhere I heard all these songs at Lovevolution 2009, PoP2009. I was at edc this year, to say that deadmau5 sucked you must be an idiot. He was beyond incredible. Kaskade went way over his set. So deadmau5 had to cut it short and while deadmau5 was setting up that took at least 30 minutes. but his intro was sick!!! and Kaskade was amazing. But swedish house mafia took the cake, they were the best, unrealll. That night was something i will never forget :]

the sets before deadmau5 matched the whole night. but when deadmau5 came on he baught a totally different vibe. so it was kinda hard for the crowd to switch and thats y a lot of people didnt like his set. for instance listen to this intro.its a minute and a half until it starts. wayyy to long.
