@cromaticas I just say that looks strange to me that the sings are in spanish at the US factory (and doesn't seem to have english translation there). That is why I say that is posible that those are images from the mexican factory. In that case that would be a fail in the video. Have you been there at the american factory? if so then OK you can say that there are both. I have never been there I only se spanish sings on the walls, so I doubt based on what the video shows.

@mebe that's usually not a problem.. the only neck i would think could warp from that would be an early 90's Ibanez. cause those have got thin-as-hell necks and don't have as good of a truss rod as the new ones.

i don't think a modern Fender with a reasonably thick neck and a truss rod would have a problem with warping, though. unless you've strung it with Stevie-esque cables for strings.

I just got one of these. The rare Olympic White finish that exclusive to Guitar Center.

Much like my Highway One's....the pickups totally sucked ass. So, naturally..like the others, I changed them.

Now.....this guitar is amazing!! It's a well constructed, toneful piece of wood that just needs a bit of 'tweaking"..

for the people by the people is a phrase from Rousseau's 'Social Contract' (1762) before the French Revolution began....its been used in the Chinese Revolution by Mao Zedong as well.....Fender swap "for" and "by" around to abide copyright infringements.

BTW..I bought a candy red 2010 American special strat and its sound is amazing.

They are way too noisy. The single coils buzz like crazy, how can you still settle for that noisy crap in 2010, the deluxe is the only good model that Fender make and they are too expensive.

@stratdem Eddie plays a "Fender" now. Fender Custom Shop makes his Frankenstein and Wolfgang guitars. Fender also owns Charvel, who made the "Art Series EVH" Strats.

The EVH brand is a partner with Fender, after Ed left Peavey. Fender makes his picks, pickups, straps and strings too. I guess you could say Ed's a Fender guy now.

I was so disappointed I couldn't get any of the models I craved for. I was prepared to pay a little more for them. I understand that we are in the minority and they have production set up costs. But for me Fender are missing a trick. I had to buy a mexican and get it modded to achieve what I really wanted. Mind you Epiphone are the same. You, sir , are obviously NOT familar with/ or have owned a quality set of NOISELESS pickups. There are GREAT Noiseless pickups out there!

Dimarzio Area series for one. These pickups are as 'Stratty' as any standard single coil I've ever heard!!

Again....there is NO reason why, with today's technology, that we have to put up with that irratating hum like a 1950's guitarist!

@Seventhsword The glossy urethane finish on this guitar is also thin. Not as thin as the really really thin matt nitro finish on the highway one which is too thin imo, and looks cheap. It also has a slightly tinted neck, which also makes it look much less cheap. I will buy this guitar for sure.

@Seventhsword You've "discovered" the mystery!!! They are indeed Highway One's with a glossy finish and Texas Specials. The shitty bridge humbucker is the same. I LOVE Highway's...I just have issues with the crap pickups. Once I switched them out....they became amazing guitars!

I hear what you're all saying however, I played one the other day and quite liked it. I liked the fact that it's cheap yet USA made. Sure it's not Deluxe nor Custom Shop however, for a gigging musician, do you really want to spend big bucks on a guitar when you can spread the excess to amps, cabs, cables, FX and the rest???

Just my opinion but the Highway one strats , are not that great . Their pretty much just a low grade American version .

The American deluxe models are the real quality strats . I remember a few years back the Highway strats were going for about $750 new . The price increase is insane .

Fender just dropped the price on their American Standards after 2 price increases going into one of the worst economic downturns in decades. Now they introduce this model at $200 under the American Standard. Don't know who is in charge of strategic planning at FMIC but the strategy is waaay over my head.

I checked the specs and they are essentially Hw1s with different pick-ups (Texas-Specials in this case) and a glossy urethane finish. Price? No Idea, but wouldn't make sense if they are more expensive than the Hw1s, which I believe will be extinct.

I don't like new website design. Old one was so much better. This new stuff reminds me of Gibson shity site full with "Lifestyle" BS.... And Gibson is not a company which one should not refer to these days. Their best guitars at the moment are VOS 50's reissues.
