it was written without dave (he left around 2005 i think) but not with the new guitarist, cause hes just helping them in live performances and tour but he isnt really part of the band (in fact he didn't appear in the videos of with me and walking disaster and neither in Road to Ruin

no, its not actually. steve uses it occationally on some of their older songs but not so much anymore. i hate it when people think that using double bass is a necessity for being a good drummer. i personally use one, but when drummers overdo it in places that it doesnt fit well, it's just really annoying to listen to. double bass is by no means a standard thing for drummers. everybody has their own style.
