  • Thanks for transcribing the lyrics.

  • Dorothy...?

  • I've been a Garland fan for most of my life, this is one of her most touching songs, 2nd place in my book

  • This is one of my favorite numbers she sang in her early/post Oz MGM period. Roger wrote terrifically personalized numbers for her(and others) because he knew the woman. And how beautiful is this girl, who didn't think she was beautiful. I know a lot of people who, to me, are stunningly gorgeous(HELLOz?!) but got some really f-d up early messaging....Ttat face, with that voice, to me, at thjs moment in time for her, is absolutely perfect and so right.

  • JUST LOVE JUDY GARLAND'S unpretentious style of singing with every bit' of sweet emotion... you can always feel LOVE ooozing out of every talented bone in her body!!.....xxoo LOVE YOU JUDY !!

  • What an humiliation to sing this song!!!

  • Judy Is Beautiful!

  • Boy, can I relate to this song . . . except I don't know half or most of the couples she mentions.

2:28 - LOL, that was mean!

    3:14 and 3:42 were funny!

Thanks for this a lot, Michele!

  • How haunting........

  • did she sing to a pre recording, or was this sung "live" to the music ?

  • @almamatters2471 All musical numbers were pre-recorded (for obvious reasons. Ya don't see the orchestra do ya?) and then the performer would "lip synch" to the recording. Judy Garland was one of the very best at this. Thanks Michele for posting this often overlooked Judy gem!

  • All the MGM musicals of this era had the music pre-recorded; Judy had an incredible talent for lip-synching. The sound effects, such as the books going on the shelf, would have been added in post-production editing.

  • gorgeous - that face.

  • Another great post, Michele.
