  • how have you programmed the agents brains that die from the arrows?

scratching my head on how to do it :/

  • this software was used on some scenes of "The Secret of her eyes" the argentinian movie that won the best foreign language movie oscar. They used this software for making vitual people on the Huracan stadium. That scene was really complex and was not very expensive. This think is a miracle.

  • Why is this program so expensive?

  • because its so good

seriously look at the movies its been used in, you'd never guess the AI agents were animated, unless you knew

  • this program was first invented for the first lord of the rings movie and has become a big thing since

  • true that, they first wrote the program for two towers didnt they? they didnt use it in the fellowship, unless i'm mistaken...

  • Didnt they use it in "The Last Alliance" battle scenes?

  • You are mistaken. The software went under development VERY early on in the pre-production of the movies and yes, it was used in the first film.

  • THey also used it in Narnia:)

  • massive software is brillant

only its a bit dear 18,000

and havnt a cue how i would work it but the power of creating battle is awesome i wonder if they r going 2 use something like this in computer games

    & how r u using massive r u doing a course or something

  • Massive was part of the Creative Technologies course at Media Design School, Auckland....but I agree it's a pretty cool software...would love to be a specialist in it down the line...recently it was even used for creating a real world Robot with a Massive driven AI system..really really cool

  • is this a WIP? no shadows?

  • this clip is purely a demonstration of crowd animation techniques(using Massive)...the terrain and landscape are in Maya and composited in post. Will need some work in AfterEffects to introduce shadows into the composition, as I wasn't focussing on it to begin with...
