  • They've conducted studies showing that looking at thin and attractive women makes women feel BETTER. It serves as motivation. Plus, no one wants a lazy partner.

  • The verse at the end, just made this video a thousand times better <3

  • It's not just women. Men suffer through this as well.

  • 2:23 she looked better bfore

  • This video was put together beautifully. I find it it horrible (shocker, I know) that this is how women and men are portrayed. Self-esteem issues start at age five or so, when we are very factual about our appearance. They increase as we go through puberty and are suppose to decrease as we age; however, after being trained to feel bad about ourselves in those fragile years how can we gain self-esteem? It hard, for some nearly impossible. And that depresses me.

  • This is true...but for me its my hair.

  • 90% dislike their bodies? That's shocking.

The thing I like to cite is how the media places much more strict standards than the actual preferences of men. The stats match up as long as people intake the same amount of calories. If 10% of girls are overweight, 10% of guys prefer overweight girls. The problem is in how the obesity epidemic changed all that. and so only 10% prefer overweight, but 70% are overweight. Suddenly, those 20% in normal range are getting a lot of attention.

  • As a naturally slender person I find it insulting when people say the only way to have curves is to a size 14. Bitch Please! Kim Kardashian is one of the most curvy women alive, and she's a dress size 2! My point is you don't need to be 140 in order to be womanly! Slender is just as beautiful as being larger and vice versa.

  • Way to go Twiggy -_- lol

  • Fat chicks should just stop trying so hard. Let natural selection do it's work.

  • Perfect is boring.

  • I really wish we emphasized beautiful hearts in young girls:

"You is smart. You is kind. You is important." - Abeline ^_^ from 'The Help'

  • Until the day women are judged on what they do and not how they look feminism is needed. Clever women are wasting their energy of their looks and not changing the world.

  • @Exsugarbabe1 Well in that case, feminism is not needed. Because women who earn (key word: Earn) careers that don't require looks, are successful. You are thinking of modeling and other "look pretty" jobs. And those jobs with looks requirements apply to both male and female. In fact, many women who aren't even qualified for certain jobs get them because of their looks.

  • @DionLaurent1 So why can't a woman come out with anything intelligent in the media without their clothes being being picked to bits? Why on British TV lots of shows have a middle aged bloke with a small pretty woman? Why is the singer Adel is judged on her size when she is a singer ? Women are judging themselves and other women too. It's not as simple as you think.

  • screw the media, the body you were born in is perfect, if a man can't see that he is just as superficial as this "beauty" s**t they invented! so many girls look beautiful as themselves, not dying of starvation with eyeliner to their cheeks!

  • @amoriamor Men invented the "beauty" shit??, it's the decision of you women to starve yourselves, not us men. Stop blaming men, and start taking responsibility for own actions. And for your information, the vast majority of men, actually like curvy (not obese) women.

  • @InspectorMontelbano1 THANK YOU! These women love to have standards for men, but when it's flipped on them, they resort to "I AM BEAUTIFUL IN OTHER WAYS!" And to that I say, well, I may not be able to afford a happy meal, and I may have gotten this ring from a 50 cent machine, but I am rich in other ways! I wonder how many men got away with that load of crap! LOL

  • wow i love this video!! really exposes how things have changed and how younger and younger girls are becoming more self concious. love it thank you

  • I bet a fat chick made this video

  • @WhiiteRussianProduct Probably.

  • Super modes with skinny looks were made by faggots who wanted women with bodies of 12 year old boys to wear their horrible fashion. This is obviously put on front magazine to advertise what beauty is and make women want to do that. Men like meat. Real men. I say real cause there are few who are pedos who like luli bodies.

  • @liImasyakong Liar! So how come you guys like fake women who are emaciated and have fake silicone tits?

  • @akawhippy Who said I like women with fake tits you idiot? Are you mad cause you're inferior?

  • @liImasyakong BUT, why do you say that guys like out-of-shape girls rather than the ones who are slim and fit? How is everything gonna be backwards? How are guys gonna be dating fat girls, and cool, popular people are gonna be dating nerds? Since you said that guys don't like girls who have hot bodies like these ones portrayed in this clip its like saying we girls are gonna stop liking guys with hot bodies like Taylor Lautner or Brad Pitt, since that's the male standard. Never gonna happen.

  • @akawhippy who said they like women who are out of shape? They prefer women that look like women, not bodies of 12 year old boys.

Go watch these, cause I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt you're ignorant about it.

    youtube.com/watch?v=Z4JNYweydow

    youtube.com/watch?v=ziSB3-lT8Ck

cause if you prefer having the body of a 12 year old boy, there are homos who'd probably like you. but real men wouldn't. Weirdo

  • @liImasyakong Oh yeah?! So you're saying that they prefer plus-sized women? Most of these girls in the vids you showed me are pudgy. Maybe you're pugdy yourself.

  • @akawhippy They're not plus sized, they're women with real bodies. If you think they're pudgy, you obviously have no idea of it. Go comment on the men prefer curves video. Tell him otherwise. he's an actual health and fitness expert

  • @liImasyakong So if you're saying that society doesn't put pressure on us to be perfect, then how come we've got this ojectification of women going on in ads, men's magazines, and on TV? This causes low-self esteem, depression, eating disorders, rape and violence against women. I'm a girl in her eraly twenties. I'm slim but healthy. But the only thing that bothers are my small breasts. Therefore I would love to get a boob job.

  • @akawhippy The media does put pressure on women. To look like prepubescent boys. And it's women who buy into that and follow it and get depressed, that's their fault

  • @CointossingkiIler haha, you're an idiot.

  • @CointossingkiIler Actually, we're supposed to be curvy and thin at the same time: thin with big round melons--- a natural impossibility. Like Heidi Montag and Barbie in one. Plastic surgery will then come to the rescue. Why do you think plastic surgery, botox, diets, lap-band procedures, and healthy food ads seem to only target women? I've never ever seen that many men in any of this ads, even though men also suffer from image issues as equally as women. Please don't tell me you're a feminist.

  • @liImasyakong WOW! How fucking ignorant can you get?

Yes, some girls aim for a smaller frame. Maybe not by the best means.

But some have it naturally. Some girls are built smaller and thinner just because of their genes. Way to bash on the girls who are naturally slender,

How would you feel if your metabolism was insanely fast and you couldn't gain weight regardless of how much you ate, and always had "the body of a 12 year old boy?"

Learn some fucking manners and think about what you say.

  • @LiAvalanche I actually have that problem. I used to work out with my dad a lot, but I never gained much of a physically noticable build, and so I don't appear as the "mighty protector" many girls crave. And at the same time, I'm often pushed into guilt for simply having a preference for my own body type, simply because it isn't the majority, or because I get uncomfortable around big gals, and have to check that everything I say is PC.

  • @LiAvalanche WOW! how fucking stupid can you get?You realize fast metabolism isn't the reason why skinny girls are skinny right? You realize that people who are fatter have a higher metabolic rate, since the body has to move around such so much weight.

Also women can change their body type. I've seen skinny men bulk up to get huge. It starts with eating right and exercise. Thin women have no excuse.

  • @liImasyakong Well, because the ideal body type for us women is an impossible one, curvy and thin at the same time: thin with big melons. that's it!

  • @liImasyakong I'm also a slim but a healthy girl my entire life. There's a difference between looking slim and looking like a starving Somalian kid. If this video was made to only criticize us women trying to perfect ourselves, then how come you boys also try to emulate Men's Health, XXL, and Muscle Fitness magazine cover models?

  • @liImasyakong This doesn't even deserve a response, you're a fucking moron.

  • @LiAvalanche looks ike someone is upset they have the body of a 12 year old boy

  • @akawhippy We don't. We like women with real tits that are big and perky. But we'll settle for the fake stuff. It gets the job done. You don't here men complaining about women liking men with big dicks and a big checking account. Fair is fair. We have our expectations of women, and women have their expectation of men.

  • @DionLaurent1 When asked, most men liked C cups which is NOT big.

  • @labonneruerouge When asked women say money doesn't matter. But we all know that's a load of shit. Men aren't going to tell what they really like if the person asking it doesn't fit the description of their ideal woman.

  • @DionLaurent1 Bullshit, I have never met anyone who said money doesn't matter cause no one wants to have to support a lazy partner. And that was from a study, conducted by researchers; not some girl asking guys on the street. Most men like average-sized breasts.

  • @labonneruerouge Well, I have met many who say it. But they don't act on what they say. And men like women with big perky breast. How are you going to tell a man what men like. Now that is Bullshit!

  • @DionLaurent1 Because that's what research says, go ahead and look it up- C is the preferred cup size. And your information comes from the exact thing you (wrongly) criticized my info for. If you want to pretend that you're right just to be right, that's fine, just don't try and argue about it when you have no idea what you're talking about and in NO WAY can speak for all men.

  • @labonneruerouge Yeah, not buying it. If they did say c, it's probably because they can't tell what size they are. Men like big breasts. Not flee bites. Yes I criticize it. Because it's simply wrong. And I know exactly what I'm talking about. Trying to put yourself in a false sense of security won't do any good.

  • @DionLaurent1 why should it be about what men want, i like big dicks...are men in complex about their dicks

  • @lovemyselfforever86 "why should it be about what men want" because this video is about woman's beauty. And women pursue beauty to attract men. That's why. Yes there are men that have a inferiority complex about their dicks. I pity them.

  • @DionLaurent1 haha, a false sense of security? I have Cs and my roommate has DDs and I get hit on at least 5 times more than she does.

Biologically, humans like proportion, not a massively lopsided body and that's why most men like average sized breasts. It just looks strange when a woman has a small waist and huge breasts and large breasts are almost never perky. I have met guys that tend towards women with giant breasts but as a rule of thumb, they're either trashy or ghetto.

  • @labonneruerouge And there we have it. Oh and just having big breast isn't all men look at. If you look better than her, of course you will have more men approaching you. But if you and another woman who look the same and have the same body structure, but she has bigger breasts, she well be coveted more. Again, most men like women with big breasts. And way to shame men who prefer women with aesthetics you don't have. Bitter much.

  • @DionLaurent1 I'm not trying to shame anyone, I didn't say all men that like +C breasts are trashy, I'm saying that men that go after women with massive breasts tend to be. My roommate always gets hit on by gross, ghetto guys, not exclusively obviously but more than any other type, and so does her other friend who has E cups.

But maybe we just function in different circles cause most of the men I know, like proportion, not a lopsided body.

  • @liImasyakong haha, sounds like someone is just chubby and doesn't understand fashion!

  • That bilboard thing was freaking awesome! HAHA! those images arent even women AHAHAHA! man, media trips me out hard. They are really good at what they do. respect. (not good for women, adverts must fuck with women's heads hard, but they know how to get me :D)

  • Did you make the video? I liked it, a lot

  • Why are looks so important to women?

  • @Charlie12241 because you're considered nothing if you don't look aesthetically pleasing.

  • @404errorpagenotfound Is being smart, funny or, honest as important to those people?

  • This video is not man hating, men and women have body issues because of media, not just women and I think men and women make the problem exist and worse. There are men and woman who need to change.

  • women should be sexed up, dumbed down and on all fours.

  • This is bullshit.

Women get into beauty competitions with each other and then scapegoat others- men. the media, fashion industry - for the negative results.

  • Comment removed

  • Take the SHITTY song off this video.

  • WOMEN NEED TO SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT BEAUTY STANDARDS! IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, MARRY A BLIND MAN! HE WON'T CARE! MEN DECIDE WHAT IS BEAUTIFUL, NOT YOU! IF YOU WOULD TO DICTATE WHAT BEAUTY WAS, IT WOULD PUT ANY AND EVERY WOMAN IN THAT CATEGORY! WHAT IF MEN STARTED SAYING "WE ARE RICH NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY?" YEAH, THAT WOULDN'T GET MUCH SUPPORT! MEN ARE JUDGED BY OUR ABILITY TO PROVIDE AND PROTECT, WOMEN ARE JUDGED BY THEIR FERTILITY AND BEAUTY! DEAL WITH IT!!!

  • @DionLaurent1 loser

  • @lotusinghini Man hating feminist. Of course your kind wouldn't agree with this. All feminist want is to be put on a pedestal and fave more freedoms than men.

  • @DionLaurent1 I don't hate men, I hate ignorance and you have that all over you.Step into the 21 century, you have no idea what you are talking about. Maybe do some serious research before making comments that make you sound like a loser.

  • @lotusinghini No, it's not that you hate ignorance. You hate the hard truth. And you got mad because my post is true. "Step into the 21 century" that's exactly what feminist need to do. Their movement is out dated and flawed. They focus on the past, MRAs focus on the present.

  • @DionLaurent1 I think you are the one that hates the hard truth there buds, because the truth is opinions like yours are becoming more and more obsolete.

  • @lotusinghini Well, luckily your inaccurate opinion doesn't mean much to me. Current events show that feminists have become obsolete. To the point that they are actually against true equality. And have become more of a parasite than anything else.

  • @DionLaurent1 I don't think you know any feminists because if you did you would realize the man haters don;t represent most women who want equality and FULLY understand what equality is.

  • @lotusinghini LOL Actually,I know many feminist. Most of them don't even know what they are talking about. My schools are full of feminist. And so are my jobs. It's not like feminist are a dying breed. No,the feminist of today want female supremacy. If they wanted equality, they would address the fact that the majority of college students are female or that men pay more by default for car insurance. And the list goes on. They are only concerned with their gender. PROOF watch?v=NvsoeLS4GbM

  • @DionLaurent1 Do they really not know anything of what they are talking about? Or do you just refuse to listen and remain steadfast in your biased opinions? And yes, you are biased. Key words: Man hating feminist. A small percentage of feminists hate men as a result of instituted misogyny, but not all, and not even many. And for you as a person to disregard someone else after classifying them as a "man hating feminist" shows bias.

  • @RisingPhoenix9 Looking at the history of feminism, my bias is justified. They are not for equality. Instituted misogyny of the 1950s that they probably never encountered themselves.

  • @DionLaurent1 I'm not talking about the 1950s or the history of feminism. I'm talking about now. Instituted misogyny still exists, good sir. With far too any examples for the text limit of this post. Your words are inherently misogynistic, and clinging to past examples for current events, current views that may or may not have changed over time is just silly. And to completely disregard them is ignorant.

  • @RisingPhoenix9

I not talking about the feminist of the 1050s either. In fact,I agree with the original feminists. No there is no instituted misogyny. If there was, feminist would have bitched on every media outlet to let people know.If anything there's instituted misandry.Nothing I said was misogynistic.Unless you think any criticism of women especially feminists is misogynistic. Which wouldn't surprise me.And my views are based on current events. It's the feminist who's in the past

  • @DionLaurent1 And another thing, I looked at your page and you really play up the hard done by man. I am not denying there are women who take advantage of men and those same women make the women who don't do that look like they do so you are a woman hater because you paint all women with the same brush. I work, pay my own bills, have NEVER taken money from a man or his things and have been screwed over many times, for being nice. You need a reality check like many men and women do.

  • @lotusinghini

    Pt1

Wow, couldn't come up with a solid rebuttal to my comment so you resort to looking at my page for anything you could use to argue. Typical feminist move. Here is something I want you to do. Go back to may page and look for 1 just 1 sentience where I said ALL women are like that. Good luck. You'll need it. Instead of using you emotions to try and translate a hidden meaning that isn't there, try using logic and take it as it is.

  • @DionLaurent1 You page shows your character and what kind of guy you are... woman hater is what I got. And by the way I did come up with a solid rebuttal. Look again,

  • @lotusinghini Woman hater is what your emotions told you. Yet you can't logically call me that because nothing on that page categorized ALL women as such. If anything it addressed the women who are like that. Only women who fall into that category would get mad at it. Logical women can tell the difference from "women tend to do this" and "ALL women are like that." Guess that means you failed to notice that.

  • @DionLaurent1 Get over yourself. That is your opinion man, doesn't make it fact and you can't bully me. I have logic, I'm not mad, logical women usually say nothing and usually I don't.

  • @lotusinghini

Pt1)Wow telling me to get over myself yet you have displayed the most vanity in this discussion. (Contradiction) Bully? Please, you can't to use that typical victim card here. You are the one who stated this. And resorted to ad hominems and assumptions. Nice try. You claim you have logic, but you've yet to show it. A logical man/woman won't let themselves be silence due to the unpopular nature of their views. They speak out. (cont...)

  • @lotusinghini

Pt2) (cont...) The idea of remaining quiet so people won't think of you as a fool only applies to fools.

  • @DionLaurent1 And that was not based on my emotions, it was based on what I saw on your page. You seem to think you know women, women tend to do this is saying all women... read it again

  • @lotusinghini Yeah, it was based on your emotions. You felt some way when reading my profile that you made up in your mind that I must be a woman hater. You couldn't come up with any other reason. So you resort to shaming tactics. I know you can't find any comment where I said "all women are like this." Wrong again. "women tend to do this" doesn't mean all women. Fail again. It means there are a large number who do.

  • @DionLaurent1 Without a modifier (i.e. Some, most, all, none), the statement "Women tend to do this" does imply total inclusion.

  • @RisingPhoenix9 No it doesn't. Without "ALL," there is no implication. Only what others interprets.

  • @DionLaurent1 So, by your logic, if I said "Men tend to have penises," then I meant only some men have penises?

  • @RisingPhoenix9 That would be what you are saying. Even if it makes no sense.

  • @DionLaurent1 And take it as it is? lol... what a manly thing to say.

  • @lotusinghini Superfluous post. Sad

  • @DionLaurent1 And you don't think your opinion is superfluous? It is.

  • @lotusinghini No because it's based on logic, experience, and factual statistics. In addition, a growing number of people (men and women) are waking up to the same conclusion.

  • @lotusinghini

    Pt2

Most women work and pay their own bills.Big deal. That's suppose to mean anything? No. When a woman takes man's money, it's usually to buy extravagant things. Not to for living day to day.And using yourself as an example doesn't mean anything. As if you represent the majority of women. Get off your throne."being nice?" Yeah you're really showing that right now.(sarcasm) Looks like you are the one in need of a reality check. My views are based on stats and experience

  • @DionLaurent1 Using your experiences as an example doesn't mean anything. I have been very nice to guys who took complete advantage of me and I never took anything extravagant in my life

  • @lotusinghini No, not just my experience. Men from all over the country and men I know personally. Even women are able to see it and tell the most horrid experiences they or others they know have had to encounter. Nice try with your assumption.

  • @DionLaurent1 I know many women who don't feel good about themselves and they put up with many inequalities because we are taught it is easier than standing up for ourselves.

  • @lotusinghini Well then, you can go and address them for all I care. And that isn't limited to women. Men have the same issue. And I doubt women have been told to stay quiet about their problems. Because looking at how feminist complain about every little thing, they are doing the opposite. It's men who are told to keep quiet about our issues. And that mentality is slowly diminishing.

  • @DionLaurent1 Get off your throne, you are the one who seems to go for superficial women then blame them for being superficial, geez buddy... woman hater much?

  • @lotusinghini Well once again you go off on a tangent based on nothing but your own assumptions. So looking at this comment, you believe that I am interested in superficial women. Yet none of my comments said that I was. And the reason being is because I'm not. LOL got anymore assumptions about me to disprove?

  • @DionLaurent1 It's not based on your comments as much as it on your attitude. I think maybe you might noe be now but you must have been at one point in life. You opinion is an assumption

  • @lotusinghini

Wow, you are proving my point with every comment you make. "It's not based on your comments as much as it on your attitude." Translation: It's not what you say it's how you say it. Um this might be a shock to you, but a tone of voice cannot be expressed in text. Would putting a smiley face on every comment make you feel better? No, I've never been interested in superficial women. At least not for a relationship. Assumption? And what assumption is that?

  • @DionLaurent1 And what stats?? Stats are about as unreliable as believing everything you read, ha ha!!

  • @lotusinghini Wow, arguing statistics. How emotional. LOL You do know that feminists use false statistics all over the us claiming that 1 out of 6 women get raped. So I guess with that kind of misinformation in your own group, it would make sense for you to be against statistics. But real statistics don't lie.

  • @DionLaurent1 My own group? No group. I'm my own person with my own mind and my own opinions based on my own reality, I know my opinion comes from my perception, did you know that?

  • @lotusinghini Your group: In other words, feminists. Don't tell me you are going to deny being a feminist after all that. It wouldn't surprise me if you did deny it. Yeah, I did. But this is what you seem to be trying to ignore. When you socially or emotionally engage with someone else, you take with them a part of their reality and you leave behind a part of yours. Did you know that?

  • @DionLaurent1 But really, you think I should start being a superficial bitch since that what women and men are trained to be like because of the media or what?

  • @lotusinghini In what comment did I say you should be superficial? I'll be waiting along time for that quote. LOL No, I don't care what you do. Actually, the media imitates reality. Weak minds imitate the media.

  • @DionLaurent1 You didn't have to say it, I can tell by your opinions it's how you are. Only men who have been screwed over by some superficial women would complain about women.

  • @lotusinghini

    Pt1

Oh, so without proof to support that claim, I can be labeled a woman hater? LOL That's how false rape allegations work too. And with that comment, you just confirmed what I have said from the very beginning. You are using emotionalism, not logic. cont...

  • @lotusinghini

    Pt2

cont... My opinions? I bet you don't even know what my opinions are. So now you know all men? Well sorry but your little assumption is wrong again. I've never been screwed over by some superficial woman, or any woman for that mater. Nice try. And even if I have, it doesn't make my views any less legitimate. Oh and chick, it's not complaining, it's criticism. And no one is above criticism. Not you, not me not a single gender.

  • poor fat ugly girls let's all feel sorry for them... for fucks sake grow up girls! poor victims they are...

  • God..I hate it when these types of "specialists" point out a so call "fact" without reading the correct research. It is not 77% or 90% of women, as in all women of color, in fact! reported by the Mental illness Disorder guide IV (MID IV guide: Psychological disorder guide) 60% of image disorders/eating dx are reported by white European women, 20% asian women, 10% latin women, 5%black women, 5% mix race. What does this show? that this is a white problem, not a "Women problem", read the facts

  • con: in addition, both black and latin women report a higher percentage of being please with their bodies and being confident about their curves. While white women are more likely to report a dissatisfaction with theirs, even if they are in a healthy body shape. Asian women also report a higher body image issues due to following both the white and asian cultures, a lot more than other people of color. These types of DX are connected with how European culture influences somebody

  • @Swizzik youtube or google "bbw" and see how many thin guys have no problem dating heavier women. google or youtube "supathickmami" who is 330 lbs and gets tons and tons of male attention. now what man could be 330 lbs and have tons and tons of thin women lining up to date him? what 300 lb man could put videos of himself showing his rolls on youtube, and getting tons and tons of female attention? once again, google or youtube "bbw" enough said.

  • Comment removed

  • Awww women have it so hard. You ask a woman to not be overweight and they bitch about that. In obese america where the average woman is 5'3 160 lbs. As long as a woman is not overweight she is considered beautiful by the masses. I mean seriously, overweight women have no problem getting a date. Women date up in terms of looks and men date down. There are so many men who are not overweight, yet struggle to find a mate, however if a woman is not overweight she has 2323322 male suitors.

  • This video is bullshit. Go on any dating site and you see tons and tons of overweight obese women getting male attention from guys better looking than them. Women can be overweight (example bbw) and have so many male suitors. There are overweight women who advertise themselves and make money off it! Supathickmami is 300 lbs (google or youtube her) youtube bbw and see how many male subscribers, views and lusful comments they have. How many fat men can make youtube videos and get female attn?

  • Type in bbw on youtube and just see the lustful comments left behind by men for overweight women. How many thin females leave behind lustful comments for overweight men? Women are just as shallow as men in the looks department and decide in 1-5 seconds whether they want to know a guy based on looks. If a guy is ugly, he is creepy but if a guy is handsome he is "bold and confident"

  • What a load of bullshit. Everyone knows women can be overweight and still be able to date a perfectly thin man. Google "supathickmami" she is 330 lbs and has a huge male fan base and guys who pay to see her nude! Type in bbw on youtube or google and see how many thin men go crazy over overweight women. Women are only depressed because they are overweight/average and can't get the top percentage of men. How many guys can be over 300 lbs and be considered sexy? NONE!!!!

  • Look, we should boycott these corporations, seriously. Unilvever, Maybelline etc...

I hope everyone wakes up and realizes what game the are playing. They make you feel ugly, they sell you products to be pretty, you buy it, they get richer. Corporations are heartless money machines, dove doesn't care - why would ppl think they do. Dove IS Unilever, they sell skin lightening, slim fasts shakes etc. Their "True Beauty Ads" are fake. Don't trust corporations.Period.

  • @brittanyverjes1 Women have no place bitching about this. Women are just as picky regarding men's looks, if not more picky in these days. In fact, in addition to looks, men are expected to provide for women too. So yes, women, you too are up for scrutiny when it comes to looks. Deal With It. You will not shame men into liking fat ugly women.

  • Comment removed

  • @brittanyverjes1 No, you blame them probably because you can't measure up to the standard of beauty. Art imitates life, and the big business imitates the media. People from birth knows what beauty is. There have already been scientific studies to confirm this. Are you going to say that babies are conditions days or even hours after birth? I think not.

  • @DionLaurent1

If they can say whatever they want, I can too. Regardless of my "gender."

    4. This whole conversation is being justified with gender blanket statements and not even related to the video above.

    5. I'm sorry, you can say which gender is "more" picky about looks and more shallow because the truth is, guys and gals are very picky. Who cares.

    6. This page is over taken by duel accounts and Internet trolls who won't stop messaging me. I'm done with this page. Peace.

  • @brittanyverjes1 Sure you can say whatever you want. Just know you will be held accountable for your content. Your gender is irreverent. It's what you post that is up for scrutiny; not your sex. Actually, it is very much relevant. Some people are just unable to connect the dots. Well, looking at the way society is today, it is true that women are more shallow. Their desire to look good stems from their own insecurities. Nothing more. Done with this page? Wise decision.

  • Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

  • @lawshorizon That is how it should be.

  • More afraid of becoming fat than losing your parents?

    What have we come to?

  • The point is not really whether beauty is a myth or not. I don't think it is a myth. The real myth is the importance ATTRIBUTED to physical beauty. I like very much the quoting of 1 Samuel 16:7. The HEART is much more important than beauty. Beauty is only good for the person who has it (and at the same time it is trial for the beautful person's ego), but good hearts build sustainable societies.

  • If an adult woman is misguided by the media, it is the adult woman's fault. Period.

  • There's no denying that the media bombards us with idealistic images of people on a daily basis. But what's happened to the real measures of success? Intelligence, assertiveness, dedication, morality, and honor have all but disappeared in the minds of so many young women. Are we forgetting that we (society) are NOT enslaved by the media because we are still able to choose freely!? Why do women subject themselves to these stressors? Wake up! Free yourself, or you will never be content.

  • For some reason I doubt this video was made by hot girls with bodies that make heads turn...

  • the prettiest women are the ones who have been married for years to a husband who loves her and shows it---today, even the ones who are classicly beautiful, arent pretty and look whorish--young girls arent even shown affection by their boyfriends in public anymore-its weird

  • ANOREXIA didnt happen until the feminist movement with Karen Carpenter in teh late 60s--we didnt have this when women were more traditional--its the loose sexuality then brought this to pass--Monroe had a big butt

  • At 0:59, the graphic says "50% of girls think they're fat". Well, 68% of adult US women are overweight or obese, so people "thinking they're fat" are really people "acknowledging reality".

At 2:27, the caption says that girls are more afraid of becoming fat than they are of nuclear war. That just means they aren't stupid - they have a 68% chance of becoming fat, but a very remote chance of dying in a nuclear war. They probably don't worry about being struck by lightning, either.

  • Live life to its fullest, because if you worry about all the small things, you wont get to see the big picture.

  • i grew up watching tv and playing with barbies and looking at what the world tells me if beautiful and ive never ever had a body image issue. Sure ive thought oh boy im gaining some weight should cut down on some of the food i eat. ive thought i better take better care of myself instead of harm myself.

  • One more thing: If you've ever known someone with an eating disorder or body image issues, maybe you would understand more easily the pain and effects of societies dogma of beauty. It's not just videos on YouTube. In my college career, this has been an important issue brought up in a variety of classes, furthering the proof that this issue indeed exists.

  • So many people are missing the fucking point. How can you deny that the media as well as society set forth these distorted perceptions of "beauty"? How can you even define beauty? How can you deny that everywhere you turn, there is a girl who wants to lose weight to be skinny. Wants to be "pretty". Wants longer legs, fuller lips, a nice ass, this and that, this and that. It's great to want to do these things for yourself. But where did we get these ideas of a "perfect, beautiful woman"?

  • @verseauXDtrh I don't know, maybe instinct? Certain desirable traits differ by culture, but in general humans tend to like the same set of overall traits. Men like large breasts, wide hips, and full lips. Women like strong, assertive, and tough men. All animals have traits they look for in a mate instinctively. These will generally override most media images. That's why men don't go after anorexic women despite the fact that the look is EVERYWHERE in our media.

  • Women are complaining about the "Beauty Myth", but they're the one perpetuating it. Most guys don't give a shit and would fuck 99% of women they encounter. We're not that picky, but women seem to perpetuate the myth that we are among themselves.

  • @PinuyashaRPG It's not about wanted to be "fucked". You don't get the point. It's not a 'myth'. Can you argue that in our society, skinny and 'pretty' is what girls aim for? And because why? It's in the media. It's in our society. Wake up.

  • @verseauXDtrh And who perpetuates this desire? It's not men buying fashion, teen, and other beauty magazines. It's women. The average male doesn't care about a woman looking like a magazine cover. It's other women who care. Women complain the most about this issue, but they are the ones who feed it. The media is a business, and it's their job to give people what they want. Stop demanding it, and they will stop delivering it.

  • @verseauXDtrh And I'm not claiming it doesn't exist. I'm saying that the people complaining about it the most (women) are the ones causing it. Reading comprehension. It's quite vital.

  • @PinuyashaRPG The point is this idea gets into women's heads so that they believe they should reach some kind of perfection. Really, on the internet it's hard to compare views because tone and personalization is lost. I respect what you're saying and I agree that because women continue to feed into the beauty through media, the media continues to produce it. Women should embrace their appearance and say fuck the media, so that as you said, the media would stop producing it

  • @verseauXDtrh What I don't get is why men are told a great body is achievable though hard work, but women are told it's impossible. When a man looks at a muscle mag, the first thing he thinks is "What do I have to do to reach that point?" Granted, most of those guys are drugs, but the underlying message that it's possible to work your way towards that fitness is there. When women look at other women even with a reasonably good figure (Jillian M.), "Impossible" is the first word in their head.

  • @verseauXDtrh Men also have great sites and role models devoted to helping them reach that goal like Lyle McDonald, Martin Berkham, Alan Aragon and Mark Ripptoe. And even awful ones like Men's Health and T-Nation. All women have are sites saying it's impossible. Why is one gender being told that hard work will make them fit and strong, and the other isn't?

  • Your totally ugly

but dont worry I have some products to sell you that will make you pretty :)

  • One question. Does the media define beauty for society, or does the media reflect society's definition of beauty?

  • It's a valid point that media has an influence on how people perceive themselves and their bodies, but I don't think it's fair to blame the media for everything. A lot of what shapes people is their upbringing-- so if they were brought up in an atmosphere which allowed for higher self-esteem, it'd be easier for them to ignore the ideals. And side note: There are girls who can't achieve a curvy look, either-- the problem isn't just that the ideal is too skinny, it's that there's an ideal at all.

  • This is a fantastic video

  • I think media has a responsibility for shaping culture, but I think that people should get together to oppose cultural trends which don't contribute at all for people's well-being.

  • @XandeZouk "I think media has a responsibility for shaping culture,..."

What defines the media's attitudes if not the cultre it is in? Media defines culture or culture defines media?

  • @davidsfriend01 People influence people. Culture is made by people and the media is so to. But there are people with more access to the media - journalists, artists, politicians, etc - than other people - with other professions. But democracy means everybody has the same rights, and if those with more access to the media provide an unsatisfactory culture, protests may improve things. Spaces as this one for comments are important tools for common people to influence culture.

  • @davidsfriend01 I'd like to indicate for you a reading I find very interesting: The Propaganda Model, advanced by Noam Chomsky and Eduard S. Herman. It tells us
